Attendance & Punctuality:

Students are expected to arrive on time and be fully prepared for class in the appropriate dance attire and footwear. Please refer to our Dress Code for complete details regarding class requirements.

If a student will be late, we ask that a parent or guardian notify the front desk as a courtesy whenever possible.

Reporting Absences:

Parents and guardians are responsible for reporting all student absences through the DSP (Dance Studio Pro) App as soon as possible. Failure to report an absence through the DSP App may result in the absence being considered unexcused. Submitting absences helps instructors plan accordingly and allows the studio to maintain accurate attendance records.

Late Arrival & Warm-Up Safety:

A proper warm-up is essential for injury prevention and successful participation in class. Students arriving more than 10 minutes late may be asked to observe rather than participate at the instructor's discretion. Students who observe are encouraged to take notes, watch attentively, and remain engaged in the learning process.

Attendance & Class Enrollment:

Consistent attendance is important for student progress and class continuity. If a class has a waitlist and a student accumulates three (3) consecutive unexcused absences without reporting the absences through the DSP App or communicating with the studio, the student's enrollment may be reviewed and they may be removed from the class roster to accommodate a student on the waitlist.

No refunds or credits will be issued in these situations. Exceptions may be granted for illness, injury, family emergencies, or other special circumstances when communicated to and approved by studio management.

Leaving Class Early:

If a student must leave class before the scheduled end time, the instructor and front desk must be notified prior to the start of class. For the safety of all students, dancers will only be released to an authorized parent or guardian unless other arrangements have been made in advance.

Missed Classes & Make-Up Policy:

Tuition reserves a student's place in class and is not based on attendance. Students who miss class due to illness, vacation, school activities, family events, or other personal scheduling conflicts may attend a designated make-up class.

Make-up classes are offered **once per month** and must be scheduled in advance through the front desk. Make-up classes are subject to availability and must be completed within the current dance season.

**Classes designated for recital choreography, performance preparation, Dance Ensemble, Competition Team rehearsals, workshops, master classes, and special events are not eligible for make-up classes.** Due to the nature of choreography instruction and group staging, missed material must be learned independently with assistance from the instructor when appropriate.

No refunds, credits, or prorated tuition will be provided for missed classes.

In the event that a class is canceled by the studio, a make-up class, credit, or alternative arrangement may be offered at the studio's discretion.

Extended Absences:

If a student expects to miss multiple consecutive classes due to injury, medical reasons, or other extended circumstances, families should notify the studio as soon as possible so that enrollment options can be discussed.

Strictly Enforced

At Destined to Dance Studio, our dress code is strictly enforced to promote safety, proper technique, and professionalism in the classroom. Appropriate dance attire allows instructors to accurately assess alignment, body placement, and movement quality while minimizing distractions. Adhering to the dress code also helps create a focused learning environment and encourages students to develop the discipline and confidence expected of dancers.

Proper dance shoes and attire are required for participation. Students who arrive out of dress code may be asked to observe class until the issue is corrected.

## Hair Requirements

Hair must be neatly secured and styled away from the face and neck before entering class.

* **Ballet:** Hair must be secured in a neat bun.
* **All Other Classes:** Hair may be worn in a ponytail, bun, braid, or other secure style that keeps hair out of the face and off the neck.

## Ballet

A uniform ballet dress code creates consistency across classes and allows instructors to better assess posture, alignment, and technique.

### Girls

* Black leotard required for all ballet classes
* Pink, black, or flesh-tone tights
* Pink leather or canvas ballet slippers
* Ballet skirts are permitted only with instructor approval

### Boys

* Black fitted t-shirt
* Black leggings or dance pants
* Black ballet slippers

## Jazz • Lyrical • Modern • Contemporary

Students should wear fitted black dance attire that allows instructors to clearly see body alignment and technique.

Acceptable attire includes:

* Leotards
* Crop tops
* Tank tops
* Fitted dance tops
* Leggings
* Biker shorts
* Dance shorts

Required footwear:

* Black or tan jazz shoes
* Dance paws
* Half soles

*Modern and Contemporary instructors may require students to dance barefoot depending on class curriculum and instructor preference.*

## Tap

* Dance attire following the general studio dress code
* No jeans or streetwear
* Black or tan tap shoes

## Hip Hop

* Loose-fitting, comfortable clothing that allows for movement
* Clean athletic sneakers designated for studio use
* No jeans, denim shorts, or restrictive clothing

# Lost & Found Policy

Destined to Dance Studio is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings.

Any items left behind will be placed in the studio's Lost & Found area located at the front desk. Families are encouraged to clearly label all dance shoes, clothing, water bottles, and personal items with the student's name.

Lost & Found items that remain unclaimed for more than 30 days may be donated, discarded, or otherwise removed at the studio's discretion.

# Medical Information & Emergency Care

Parents and guardians are responsible for informing the studio of any medical conditions, allergies, injuries, physical limitations, or other health concerns that may affect a student's participation in dance activities.

By enrolling in classes, parents/guardians acknowledge that participation in dance and related activities involves inherent risks of physical injury. Destined to Dance Studio, its owners, employees, and instructors shall not be held liable for injuries or medical conditions arising from participation in classes, rehearsals, performances, or other studio activities, except as required by law.

Students should not attend class if they are ill, injured, or otherwise unable to safely participate.

In the event of a medical emergency and a parent/guardian cannot be reached, the studio is authorized to seek emergency medical treatment on behalf of the student. Any medical expenses incurred shall be the responsibility of the parent or guardian.

# Social Media, Photography & Video Policy

Destined to Dance Studio celebrates student achievements through photography, videography, and social media. Students may appear in photographs, videos, livestreams, promotional materials, advertisements, recital media, and content shared through studio platforms, including but not limited to the studio website, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and other marketing channels.

By enrolling at Destined to Dance Studio, parents/guardians grant permission for the use of their student's image, likeness, voice, and performance for promotional, educational, and marketing purposes unless a written opt-out request is submitted to the studio.

Families are welcome to share photos and videos from performances and studio events. We ask that all online content reflects positively on the studio, its staff, and fellow dancers.

When sharing choreography online, proper credit should be given whenever possible, including:

* Destined to Dance Studio
* Choreographer and/or Instructor Name
* Music Title and Artist
* Dancer(s) featured in the performance

Unauthorized reproduction, teaching, or distribution of choreography created by studio staff may violate intellectual property rights.

# Studio Closures & Class Cancellations

In the event of severe weather, natural disasters, government orders, utility outages, emergencies, or other unforeseen circumstances beyond the studio's control, Destined to Dance Studio reserves the right to close the facility, cancel classes, or modify operations as necessary.

Families will be notified of closures or schedule changes through email, text message, the DSP App, and/or social media whenever possible.

For studio-cancelled classes, a make-up class, make-up credit, virtual class option, or alternative arrangement may be offered at the studio's discretion.

The studio reserves the right to adjust class schedules, instructors, classroom assignments, and programming as needed to ensure the continued operation of the studio.

To provide a safe, organized, and positive learning environment for all students, families are asked to observe the following policies:

* The lobby and waiting areas are reserved for currently enrolled students, staff, and authorized guests. The studio reserves the right to limit visitors during classes, rehearsals, special events, or periods of high occupancy.

* Students may not be dropped off more than 10 minutes prior to their scheduled class time. The studio is not responsible for students before or after their scheduled class unless they are participating in another supervised studio activity.

* Students should arrive dressed and prepared for class whenever possible. This helps ensure a timely start to class and minimizes congestion in the restrooms and changing areas.

* Hand sanitizer stations are available throughout the studio, and students are encouraged to practice good hygiene by washing or sanitizing their hands regularly.

* Parents and guardians should communicate questions, tardies, and absences through the DSP App.

* Students who are ill or exhibiting symptoms of a contagious illness, including fever, vomiting, diarrhea, persistent cough, or other symptoms that may impact the health and safety of others, should remain at home until they are symptom-free. The studio reserves the right to send a student home if they appear too ill to safely participate in class.

* In the event of a government-mandated closure, natural disaster, emergency, utility outage, or other unforeseen circumstance that prevents in-person instruction, classes may be moved to a virtual format or otherwise adjusted at the studio's discretion.

* Class sizes are limited to maintain a safe and productive learning environment. Once a class reaches capacity, students will be placed on a waitlist and admitted as space becomes available.

* The studio is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal belongings. Students are encouraged to label all shoes, dancewear, water bottles, and personal items with their name.

All tuition payments are non-refundable and non-transferable, regardless of attendance or withdrawal.

Payment Schedule
Tuition is due on the 5th of each month. A 3-day grace period is provided.
A $20 late fee will be automatically applied on the 9th if payment is not received.
If payment remains outstanding by the 12th, the student will be temporarily removed from class until the balance is paid.
Balances not cleared by the end of the month may result in the student losing their spot in class.

Registration Fee
An annual non-refundable registration/re-enrollment fee of $50 per student is required at the time of enrollment.

Withdrawal Policy
If you plan to withdraw from a class, a 30-day written notice is required. Tuition will still be charged during that 30-day period.

Tuition Changes
Any adjustments in class enrollment or tuition amount must be communicated and paid for at the time of the change.

Class Cancellation
Classes with fewer than 4 enrolled students may be cancelled at the studio’s discretion. Students will be placed on a waitlist until the class meets minimum enrollment requirements.

Sibling Discount
Families receive a 10% discount on tuition for siblings (not extended relatives).
Incorrect sibling sign-ups will incur a $50 fee per account.

Missed Classes
No refunds or credits will be issued for missed classes due to illness, vacation, scheduling conflicts, or personal reasons.
