Turning Point Dance
Enrolment Terms & Conditions
Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully.
By enrolling a student at Turning Point Dance, you (the parent/legal guardian and/or adult student) acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the following terms and conditions.
1. Enrolment Period
Enrolment at Turning Point Dance is for the full school year, which generally consists of four terms, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Term dates, schedules, and important information are communicated via the Parent Portal and official studio communications. It is the responsibility of families to remain informed.
2. Administration / Enrolment Fee
An annual Administration / Enrolment Fee is payable upon enrolment:
First student: $70.00 per year
Second student: $35.00 per year
Third student: $25.00 per year
This fee is non-refundable and not pro-rated, regardless of the term in which a student commences.
The Administration / Enrolment Fee contributes to fixed costs incurred for every enrolled student, including (but not limited to) insurance, music licensing, administrative processing, compliance, and record-keeping.
The Administration / Enrolment Fee is payable each calendar year at the time of enrolment or re-enrolment.
3. Amenities Levy
An Amenities Levy is charged per student, per term, in place of fundraising and contributes to studio equipment, maintenance, and resources.
Levy rates are:
1–2 classes: $25.00 per term
3 classes: $30.00 per term
4 classes: $40.00 per term
Unlimited classes (5 or more): $50.00 per term
The Amenities Levy is non-refundable.
4. Costume Club Fee & Performance Costs
A Costume Club Fee is charged per student, per term, based on the number of dance genres in which the student is enrolled:
1 genre: $35.00 per term
2 genres: $70.00 per term
3 genres: $105.00 per term
4 genres: $140.00 per term
5 genres: $175.00 per term (maximum cap)
Costume Club fees contribute to the design, creation, purchase, alteration, cleaning, storage, and administration of costumes required for the End-of-Year Performance.
Costume Club fees are based on an average (pooled) costume cost, allowing expenses to be distributed across all participating students. This ensures pricing remains consistent and predictable for families and avoids individual costume price variations based on casting or costume complexity.
Costume Ownership, Additional Costumes & Hire Fees
Where a student requires additional, high-cost, or specialty costumes beyond those covered by the standard Costume Club allocation, Turning Point Dance may supply such items on a hire basis.
In these circumstances:
The costume remains the property of Turning Point Dance
A costume hire fee of $50.00 per costume will apply to assist with the recovery of purchase, construction, and maintenance costs
The costume must be returned by the specified date in good condition, fair wear and tear excepted
Charges may apply for loss or damage
Turning Point Dance will advise families in advance where an additional costume is required, that it will be supplied on a hire basis, and that the $50.00 hire fee applies.
Participation, Adjustments & Refunds
The Costume Club Fee applies only to students participating in the End-of-Year Performance.
Families who do not intend for their child to participate must notify the office in writing prior to the commencement of Term 2. Students not participating in the performance will not be charged the Costume Club Fee.
If a student enrols in an additional dance genre during the year, the Costume Club Fee will be adjusted accordingly to reflect the additional genre(s).
If a student withdraws from the school prior to the commencement of Term 3, unused Costume Club fees may be refunded upon written request.
No refunds of Costume Club fees will be issued where a student withdraws during or after Term 3, or does not return for Term 4, as costume planning, ordering, and production will already be underway.
Costume Club fees are not transferable between students or years.
Section 5 – Tuition Fees & Payment Obligations
All tuition fees, levies, and charges are due by the first Saturday of each term, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Accounts that remain unpaid 14 days after the due date will incur a late payment fee of $50.00.
Where an account remains unpaid for more than three (3) months from the original due date, Turning Point Dance reserves the right to apply interest to the outstanding balance, in accordance with Section 6 of these Terms and Conditions.
Turning Point Dance reserves the right to recover any costs associated with the collection of unpaid fees, including administrative, legal, and debt recovery expenses.
Section 6 – Interest on Overdue Accounts
Where an account remains unpaid for more than three (3) months from the original due date, interest may be applied to the outstanding balance.
Interest will be charged at a rate of 12% per annum, calculated from the original due date until payment is received in full.
Interest charges reflect standard commercial lending and administrative costs and will not be applied where alternative arrangements have been approved in writing and adhered to.
7. Payment Plans
Payment plans are available by prior arrangement only and must be approved by the administration.
Payment plans are not automatic and are only valid once the Turning Point Dance Payment Plan Agreement has been completed and submitted via the approved system. Until a completed agreement is received, fees remain payable in accordance with standard payment terms and late fees may apply.
Payment Plan Fees & Duration
A Payment Plan Establishment Fee of $55.00 applies once per calendar year when a payment plan is first approved.
Payment plans are set up on a term-by-term basis and apply only to the fees for the relevant term. A new payment plan agreement is required each term where a family wishes to continue paying by instalments.
A $33.00 administration fee applies only where changes are requested to an existing payment plan during the term. This includes (but is not limited to) changes to instalment amounts, payment frequency, or missed payments requiring the plan to be revised.
Payment Plan Conditions
Payment plans are offered as a courtesy to assist families and do not alter the total fees payable, nor do they remove the obligation to pay fees on time.
Payment plans require:
fixed instalment amounts
fixed payment dates
full adherence to the agreed schedule
Partial payments, irregular payments, or payments made outside the agreed schedule do not constitute compliance with a payment plan.
Failure to adhere to an agreed payment plan may result in, at the discretion of Turning Point Dance:
late fees being applied
interest being applied to the outstanding balance
suspension or cancellation of the payment plan
immediate payment of the outstanding balance being required
restriction of participation in classes, performances, or examinations
commencement of debt recovery action
Payment Plan Inclusions & Exclusions
Payment plans apply to tuition fees only, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
Payment plans do not include:
examination or exam entry fees
workshop or holiday program fees
performance-related fees (including theatre costs, levies, or additional costume hire fees)
uniforms, leotards, tights, footwear, or dancewear
incidental purchases (including snacks or merchandise)
These fees are payable separately, by the due dates specified, and may not be added to an existing payment plan.
8. Non-Payment of Fees & Debt Recovery
If fees remain unpaid after the due date, Turning Point Dance reserves the right to take one or more of the following actions, in accordance with these Terms and Conditions:
suspend the student’s participation in classes
withhold performance opportunities, examinations, and reports
apply late payment fees and interest, as outlined in Sections 5 and 6
refer the account to a debt collection agency
All costs associated with debt recovery, including collection agency fees and legal costs, will be added to the outstanding balance and become the responsibility of the family.
Families experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to contact the office prior to the due date to discuss possible arrangements.
9. Early Bird Discount
An Early Bird Discount of $22.00 applies to tuition fees only when full payment is received by the advertised early bird deadline.
The discount does not apply to the Amenities Levy, Costume Club fees, or other charges.
10. Partial Term Enrolment
Students enrolling partway through a term will have tuition fees pro-rated for that term only.
All subsequent terms are charged at the full term rate.
11. Missed Classes, Holidays & Fee Adjustments
Enrolment at Turning Point Dance is term-based, not attendance-based.
No refunds, rebates, or fee reductions are available for missed classes due to illness, holidays, travel, school commitments, or personal circumstances.
Make-up classes may be requested where appropriate and are subject to availability. Make-up classes are not guaranteed and cannot be carried forward or credited.
Once a term has commenced, no fee adjustments will be made if a student withdraws from classes or is absent for part of the term.
Families who anticipate extended absences during a term and do not wish to commit to full-term enrolment may choose to attend classes at casual class rates, where available. Casual attendance does not guarantee a place in a class and may result in higher overall fees than term enrolment.
12. Withdrawal & Changes to Enrolment
Written notice of withdrawal or changes to enrolment (including the reduction of classes) must be received at office@tpdance.com.au by the end of Week 8 of the current term.
Failure to provide written notice by this time will result in the following term’s tuition fees and Amenities Levy becoming payable.
Verbal notice or notice provided to teaching staff does not constitute formal notice and will not be accepted.
Exceptions may be considered only in cases of serious medical or unforeseen circumstances, and solely at the discretion of Turning Point Dance. Supporting documentation may be requested.
13. Class Schedules & Changes
Turning Point Dance reserves the right to modify class schedules, teachers, venues, and timetables at any time where necessary, including (but not limited to) operational requirements, staffing changes, venue availability, or circumstances beyond the school’s control.
Where possible, reasonable notice will be provided. Alternative arrangements or make-up classes may be offered at the discretion of Turning Point Dance, but are not guaranteed.
Student progression generally occurs following RAD examinations in mid-Term 3. Families will be notified of any resulting timetable or class placement changes.
14. Photography & Media Consent
By enrolling, families grant permission for Turning Point Dance to use photographs and video footage of students for promotional purposes, including the website, social media, and other marketing materials.
Families may opt out of photography and media use by submitting a request in writing to office@tpdance.com.au and/or by selecting the opt-out option at the time of enrolment. Opt-out requests must be confirmed by the school.
15. Agreement & Annual Acceptance
These Terms and Conditions are issued and renewed annually and apply to each enrolment year.
By completing enrolment for the relevant year and submitting the required enrolment or payment plan forms, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions in force for that enrolment year.
All families, including those with students enrolled over multiple years, are required to review and accept the current year’s Terms and Conditions as part of the annual enrolment process. Previous acceptance does not carry forward to subsequent years.
Continued enrolment is conditional upon acceptance of the current Terms and Conditions.
