2024-2025 Information Parents must pick their children up at the door or inside the building. Inclement weather: We will no longer be following the public school schedule. If we are having severe weather, dance class may be cancelled. Call and listen to the voice mail message if in question and also check the Debbie's Dance Studio ~ DDS Facebook page. No tuition credit for cancellations due to weather. After the second cancellation there will be makeup classes scheduled. Studio Closings: Holiday closings will generally follow the school schedules. Holiday dates will be posted and notes will be given to your children prior to holidays. We do not close for teacher workshops. We will have class on most Mondays that school is closed. Holiday closings : Labor Day Sept 2 Halloween October 31st Thanksgiving November 27-29, Christmas Break December 23 - Classes resume Monday. Jan. 6 Spring Break Monticello ONLY March 17-21st Memorial Day May 26 Class Observation: Parents of children ages 6 and up are asked to drop off your child and not wait in the lobby. If your child has attended classes before and they feel comfortable please wait outside. Change in Address: Please inform the office staff of any changes to your address, phone number or email. Absent: If your child is going to be absent for any reason, please call the studio and leave a message for their instructor or text Debbie at 217-855-9211 Illness: Please keep your child home if they have an elevated temperature or other contagious symptoms. Food and drinks: Are not allowed in the dance studio. Sports bottles with water may be kept with the students dance bag ONLY if they are in multiple classes. Events: We will email all information from the portal. Notices will also be posted in the studio. Please stop by the office to stay informed on current events. We make every effort to keep you up to date on current events. If there is last minute information needed, it is usually posted on the studio door and on Facebook. Dance Conventions And Workshops: DDS attends two or more dance conventions per year. If your student is 7 or older and interested in attending these conventions, please contact Debbie. Attendance: Good attendance is imperative for proper training. Excessive absences can hold back the entire class. We will not jeopardize our responsibilities to the rest of the class for one student. If the child is older, it is the students responsibility to learn the missed material from another classmate or have a private lesson to get caught up. All competition students must attend one ballet class per week NO exceptions. Leaving the studio in-between classes: Students may not leave the premises for food, drink or any other reason without written consent. Debbie's Dance Studio or staff will not be responsible for your child if they leave. Dancers Cell Phones: Phones must be turned off when in the studio and they should remain in their bag.
I give permission for photographs to be taken during class and other activities in which Debbie's Dance Studio, Inc is involved. The photos may be used in publicity campaigns, social media etc.
Recital: 2025 Save these dates: Possible Recital May 30, 31, June 1 Or June 6, 7, 8, Exact location and times are to be determined. Possibly the Devon in Decatur, Richland Community College or Kirkland Fine Arts at Millikin University.
Registration Fee: There is a one-time non-refundable registration fee of $35 per family. You are obligated to a minimum of two months of dance classes. Once your child has been reserved a position in their given class or classes, you may not drop out for a month or two and expect that position to be held for your child. If a child drops out for any given length of time, you will be charged for the months missed plus a $35.00 re-registration fee. All students MUST sign up in the online PORTAL To Withdrawal from class a parent must: 1. Inform the studio office or Debbie in person. 2. Sign and complete a withdrawal form. This must be done within the first 7 days of the months notice. This will give us a chance to fill your child's spot. Not showing up for classes doesn't constitute withdrawal. Minimum enrollment time is 2 months. No Refunds on tuition or registration fees. Tuition: Auto Payment: AUTO-PAY is mandatory. The fees are as follows: Credit Cards: 2.99%, ACH Payments: .75% Auto-Pay is an easy way to always pay on time. An Alternative Option: If you don't want auto-pay, you may pay the entire year upfront. All returned checks or debits will be charged a $30.00 fee plus late fees. Tuition payments: are divided into 10 terms. Example Pre-ballet tuition is $600 for the entire year, we divide it by 10 months not 9. Therefore $60 is due when you register and again on the 15th. Payments will be debited on the dates below. Payment Dates - Registration Day - Sept. 15 - Oct. 16 (plus 1st 1/2 of recital costume deposit) - Nov. 15 (plus 2nd 1/2 of recital costume deposit) - Dec. 15 - Jan. 16 - Feb. 15 (plus recital fee of $85.00. Includes DVD and Recital T-shirt) - March 15 - April 17 - May 15 - June 1 (Anyone starting after the Sept. 4th will owe a tuition payment on June 1, 2025, unless your payment has been adjusted accordingly)
