STUDIO DETROIT DANCE CENTER LLC
PARKING LOT, DROP-OFF AND EXTERIOR SAFETY POLICY
Studio Detroit Dance Center LLC is located in a shared commercial property. SDDC does not own, manage, maintain, repair, or control the parking lot, sidewalks, driveways, exterior lighting, drainage system, or other common areas surrounding the studio.
PARKING LOT AND EXTERIOR CONDITIONS
The parking lot has a drainage issue that may cause water to collect or flow toward certain areas near the studio. During cold weather, standing water may freeze and create slippery or icy conditions.
Although SDDC may make reasonable efforts to place salt near the studio entrance, SDDC cannot guarantee that the parking lot, sidewalks, or exterior areas will always be clear of water, snow, ice, debris, potholes, uneven pavement, or other hazards.
All students, parents, guardians, guests, employees, and visitors must use caution when driving, parking, entering, or leaving the property.
WEATHER SAFETY
During rain, snow, freezing temperatures, or other severe weather, families should allow additional time for arrival and departure.
Please:
• Walk slowly and carefully.
• Watch for ice, standing water, uneven pavement, potholes, and other hazards.
• Wear appropriate shoes for the weather.
• Use designated sidewalks and entrances whenever possible.
• Avoid running through the parking lot or exterior areas.
• Report any observed hazard to SDDC staff so that the property owner or management may be notified.
PARKING AND VEHICLE RESPONSIBILITY
Drivers must follow all posted signs, traffic directions, fire-lane restrictions, and designated parking rules.
Vehicles may not block the studio entrance, neighboring businesses, driveways, sidewalks, fire lanes, or other vehicles.
SDDC is not responsible for vehicle accidents, collisions, towing, tickets, theft, vandalism, weather-related damage, or damage to vehicles or personal property occurring in the parking lot or surrounding areas.
Do not leave purses, electronics, dance bags, money, or other valuable items visible inside an unattended vehicle.
DROP-OFF AND PICKUP
Parents and guardians are responsible for safely transporting and supervising their students in the parking lot and exterior areas.
Minor students should not be dropped off or left unattended outside the studio. A parent or authorized adult should ensure that the student has safely entered the building before leaving the property.
Parents and guardians must arrive on time for pickup. SDDC’s supervision begins when the student enters the studio and is checked in for class. SDDC’s supervision ends when the student is dismissed from class.
Parents and guardians are responsible for their students before entering and immediately after dismissal.
Students may not run, play, gather, or wait unsupervised in the parking lot, driveway, sidewalk, or other exterior areas.
ASSUMPTION OF RISK
I understand that parking lots, sidewalks, driveways, and exterior common areas may present risks, including falls, slips, vehicle traffic, ice, snow, standing water, poor drainage, potholes, uneven pavement, limited visibility, and changing weather conditions.
I voluntarily assume the ordinary risks associated with entering, parking, walking through, and using the property’s shared exterior areas.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Studio Detroit Dance Center LLC is not responsible for injuries, accidents, losses, or property damage occurring in exterior areas that SDDC does not own, manage, maintain, or control.
This policy does not waive claims that cannot legally be waived, including claims resulting from gross negligence, reckless conduct, or intentional misconduct by Studio Detroit Dance Center LLC.
