Spring 2027 Studio Policies & Financial Agreement

Welcome to Meenakshi Dance Co.! We are committed to creating a positive, encouraging, and inclusive environment where students can build confidence, develop dance skills, celebrate Indian culture, and create lasting memories.

Please review the following policies before registering.

1. Registration & Tuition

Semester Tuition: $250 per student for 13 instructional classes.
Annual Registration Fee: $40 per family, charged once per dance year, regardless of the number of family members enrolled.
Tuition is collected at registration unless another payment arrangement has been approved by Meenakshi Dance Co.
Tuition covers dance instruction, choreography, technique training, and scheduled class activities.
Performance and costume rental fees are separate from tuition.

2. Spring 2027 Schedule

First Class: January 9, 2027
Final Class: May 8, 2027
Spring Showcase: Saturday, April 24, 2027

There will be no regular classes on January 30, February 13, March 13, April 3, or April 24 (Spring Showcase).

The semester includes 13 instructional classes plus the Spring Showcase. Classes following the showcase will focus on technique, continued learning, and end-of-semester activities, including costume returns.

Schedules may be adjusted when necessary. Families will be notified of changes.

3. Attendance & Missed Classes

Consistent attendance is encouraged to support student progress and group choreography.
Please notify the instructor through the Parent Portal if your child will be absent.
Missed classes do not automatically qualify for refunds, credits, or make-up classes.
Students should arrive on time, dressed comfortably, and ready to participate.

4. Tuition, Withdrawal & Refunds

Registration reserves a place in the selected class.

Parents may submit withdrawal requests in writing. Under the proposed refund policy, tuition for instructional classes not yet provided at the time of withdrawal will be refunded on a prorated basis. The annual registration fee is nonrefundable except where required by law.

Individual absences do not qualify for tuition adjustments unless otherwise required by law.

If Meenakshi Dance Co. cancels a class, we will attempt to arrange a make-up class or provide an appropriate credit or refund for instruction not delivered.

All cancellation and refund rights required by applicable law will be honored.

5. Performance Participation

Performances are an exciting opportunity for students to build confidence, teamwork, and stage experience.

Performance Fee: $30 per participating student.
The performance fee is charged separately from tuition.
Participation is optional unless a particular class is specifically designated as a performance program.
Students participating in performances are expected to attend scheduled rehearsals and practice choreography.
Families will receive performance details, arrival times, and costume instructions in advance.

Performance participation is subject to preparation, attendance, and event requirements.

6. Costume Rentals

Performance costumes may be available to rent when needed.

Boys’ Costume Rental: $25
Girls’ Costume Rental: $35

Costume fees are charged separately when a rental is required.

Rental costumes remain the property of Meenakshi Dance Co. and must be returned by the announced return date.

Families are responsible for reasonable care of rental items. Lost or significantly damaged items may require reimbursement of actual replacement or repair costs, communicated to the family.

Students may be asked to provide their own basic clothing, footwear, or accessories when appropriate.

7. Classroom Expectations

Meenakshi Dance Co. is committed to an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment.

Students are expected to treat instructors and fellow dancers with kindness and respect.
Bullying, unsafe behavior, and repeated classroom disruptions are not permitted.
Students should wear appropriate dance attire and secure long hair when needed.
Parents must arrange timely drop-off and pickup for minor students.
Parents are responsible for informing instructors of any concerns affecting their child’s safe participation.

8. Health, Safety & Studio Closures

Students who are sick or experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness should remain home.

Parents should disclose relevant allergies, medical needs, or physical limitations that instructors need to know to support safe participation.

Classes may be canceled or rescheduled because of severe weather, emergencies, or circumstances affecting student safety.

Families will receive updates through the studio’s designated communication channels.

9. Communication

Important announcements, payment reminders, schedules, and performance updates may be shared through the Parent Portal, email, or designated studio communication groups.

Parents are responsible for maintaining accurate contact information and reviewing important studio communications.

10. Acknowledgment

By accepting this agreement, I confirm that I have reviewed and understand Meenakshi Dance Co.’s registration, tuition, attendance, performance, costume rental, and studio policies.

I agree to follow these policies and understand that applicable legal rights are not waived by this agreement.

Dance Participation, Safety & Emergency Authorization

Meenakshi Dance Co. strives to provide a safe, supportive, and enjoyable learning environment for all students.

Participation and Physical Activity

I understand that dance instruction, rehearsals, and performances involve physical movement and activities that carry risks, including slips, falls, strains, collisions, and other injuries.

I agree to notify Meenakshi Dance Co. of relevant medical conditions, allergies, physical limitations, or other information necessary for the student’s safe participation.

Emergency Procedures

In the event of an injury or medical emergency, I authorize Meenakshi Dance Co. to contact emergency services and seek appropriate assistance when necessary.

The studio will make reasonable efforts to contact the parent, guardian, or designated emergency contact as soon as practicable.

Parent/Guardian Responsibilities

For students under 18, I confirm that I am the parent or legal guardian, or otherwise have the necessary legal authority to register the student and provide the acknowledgments and permissions in this document.

I understand that students must follow instructor directions and established safety procedures.

Acknowledgment

I have read and understand the physical risks associated with dance participation and the studio’s emergency procedures.

I understand that this acknowledgment is not, by itself, a release of legal claims or a waiver of rights.

Optional Photo & Video Consent

Meenakshi Dance Co. occasionally photographs or records classes, rehearsals, workshops, and performances to celebrate student achievements and promote studio activities.

I voluntarily authorize Meenakshi Dance Co. to use photographs or videos featuring my child on its official website, social media accounts, flyers, and other studio promotional materials.

I understand that permission is optional and declining will not affect my child’s ability to participate in dance classes.

I may withdraw permission for future uses by contacting the studio in writing, although material already published or distributed may not be fully removable.
