2026–2027 Season
Welcome to D4YL
Welcome to Dance 4 Your Life (D4YL)! Our goal is to build confident, disciplined, hardworking dancers while creating unforgettable experiences and opportunities through dance. This handbook outlines expectations, procedures, policies, financial responsibilities, and team culture for all dancers and parents.
Program Options
Recreational Team – $150/month
• Local performances & showcases
• Standard rehearsals
• Open recreational participation
Competition Team – $250/month
• Competition training & travel
• Additional rehearsals & performances
• Audition & coach approval required
Practice Expectations
• Recreational rehearsals are up to 2 hours.
• Competition rehearsals may extend additional hours depending on performances, travel, and competition preparation.
• Dancers should arrive on time and prepared.
• Final rehearsals and dress rehearsals are mandatory.
• Excessive absences or tardiness may result in removal from routines or performances.
Parent Observation Policy
To minimize distractions and maintain productivity during rehearsals, parents are not permitted to observe practices unless approved by D4YL staff or coaching personnel.
D4YL reserves the right to limit or deny rehearsal observation privileges at any time.
Drop-In Policy
Drop-ins are welcome at a rate of $35 per class.
Dancers interested in joining the team must attend and pay for 4 consecutive drop-in classes before being considered for official team placement.
Tuition & Payments
• A $60 registration fee is required per dancer and includes an official D4YL team T-shirt.
• Registration fees are non-refundable once registration is submitted and merchandise has been ordered.
• Recreational dancers are required to purchase an official D4YL jersey uniform for $50.
• AutoPay through Studio Pro is mandatory.
• Tuition is due monthly regardless of attendance.
• Late fees may apply to overdue balances.
• Dancers with unpaid balances may not practice, perform, compete, or travel.
• Team placements, choreography spots, costumes, and travel participation are not guaranteed without active enrollment and current payments.
• Competition and performance costumes are separate from tuition and must be paid by stated deadlines.
• No refunds will be issued for tuition, travel, costumes, competitions, registration fees, or special event fees.
Fundraising Expectations
Participation in fundraising activities may be required or strongly encouraged to assist with competition expenses, travel costs, costumes, team events, and additional D4YL opportunities.
Competition Team Requirements
Competition placement is not guaranteed. Placement decisions may be based on:
• Attendance
• Effort & attitude
• Skill level & performance quality
• Coachability
• Financial standing
• Team needs & coach discretion
Competition participation is seasonal unless otherwise approved by coaching staff.
Competition Schedule Expectations
Competition dancers may be required to attend:
• Extended rehearsals
• Additional practice days
• Mandatory dress rehearsals
• Team performances
• Photoshoots
• Travel opportunities
Practice schedules may vary depending on season, performances, travel, and choreography preparation.
Competition dancers are expected to maintain a minimum of 80% attendance to remain eligible for performances, competitions, and travel opportunities.
Travel Policy
Out-of-town trips may require dancers to stay together in Airbnb or hotel lodging selected by D4YL staff.
Parents are responsible for transportation costs, lodging, competition fees, meals, personal items, and additional travel-related expenses.
Competition dancers may be required to participate in mandatory travel events.
Behavior & Team Culture
D4YL promotes respect, discipline, teamwork, positivity, leadership, and professionalism.
The following behaviors may result in probation, suspension, or dismissal:
• Bullying or cyberbullying
• Fighting or physical altercations
• Disrespect toward staff, dancers, or parents
• Repeated disruption during rehearsals
• Negative social media behavior involving D4YL
Social Media & Team Culture Expectations
Parents, dancers, and affiliated family members are expected to avoid:
• Gossip or public disputes involving D4YL
• Online harassment or cyberbullying
• Negative social media discussions involving D4YL
• Disrespectful comments toward staff, dancers, or parents
Public disparagement or inappropriate online behavior involving D4YL may result in disciplinary action or dismissal.
Communication Policy
Official communication will occur through Studio Pro, email, text messaging, or approved D4YL communication channels.
Parents are responsible for staying updated regarding:
• Practice schedules
• Competition information
• Travel updates
• Invoices and payment deadlines
• Team announcements
• Policy changes and updates
Failure to review communications does not excuse missed rehearsals, payments, deadlines, or responsibilities.
Weather & Schedule Changes
Rehearsals, classes, competitions, or events may occasionally be canceled, rescheduled, or adjusted due to weather conditions, emergencies, facility conflicts, travel complications, or unforeseen circumstances.
Unless otherwise stated by D4YL, tuition obligations and financial responsibilities remain active regardless of schedule changes or cancellations.
Media Release
By participating in D4YL activities, parents acknowledge that dancers may appear in photographs, videos, livestreams, promotional materials, websites, and social media content associated with D4YL.
Choreography & Creative Ownership
All choreography, concepts, routines, mixes, branding, performance ideas, videos, and creative materials created for D4YL remain the intellectual property of D4YL.
These materials may not be copied, reposted, redistributed, recreated, taught, or reused without written permission from D4YL leadership.
Parent & Dancer Acknowledgement
By signing below, parents and dancers acknowledge they have read, understood, and agreed to follow all D4YL policies, expectations, procedures, and financial responsibilities outlined in this handbook.
