Studio Policies and Agreements
Welcome to Spectrum Dance Company! We are thrilled to have you as part of our inclusive dance community. To ensure a safe, positive, and respectful environment for all dancers, families, and staff, please review and acknowledge the following studio policies.
Behavior and Conduct
At Spectrum Dance Company, we strive to create an inclusive and supportive atmosphere where every dancer feels valued and respected. Dancers, parents, and staff are expected to treat one another with kindness, patience, and respect at all times.
Instructors and Staff are trained to assist students when difficult behaviors may arise; however there are certain behaviors that SDC deems inappropriate and will not be tolerated in any class. Harmful behavior to self or others, damage to any studio property, or unsafe verbal or physical behavior will result in immediate dismissal from the studio.
Bullying, teasing, or exclusion of any kind is strictly prohibited and may result in dismissal from class or from the studio if behavior continues. Parents and guardians are encouraged to communicate openly with staff regarding any concerns, preferably in private and outside of class times. Instructors and staff will also gladly assist students in any behavior modifications requested by a student’s parent, guardian, or conservator.
Financial Policies
Registration fees are due upon registration. Monthly tuition is due by the first day of each month and will be deducted automatically unless other arrangements have been made with SDC. Any declined payment will incur a $25 processing fee, and late payments may result in a $25 late fee if not received within 7 days of the due date.
Tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable, except in cases of studio closure or circumstances approved by SDC Executive Director. Missed classes do not qualify for tuition credit or refund. Make up classes are offered but it is the client’s responsibility to communicate with SDC to schedule them. Spectrum Dance Company reserves the right to suspend participation for unpaid balances exceeding 30 days past due.
Safety and Liability Policies
All dancers must have a signed registration form and liability waiver on file before participating in any class. Parents/guardians/conservators must inform instructors of any medical conditions, allergies, or special needs before the first class. Spectrum Dance Company and its staff are not liable for personal injury, loss, or damage to personal property occurring on studio premises or during studio-related activities. In the event of emergency, staff will provide basic assistance and contact emergency services or guardians as needed. It is preferred that a parent/guardian/conservator remain on premises during class in case of emergency or behavior assistance is needed during class.
Attendance and Makeup Classes
Regular attendance is important for dancer progress and class cohesion. If a dancer must miss class, please notify the studio in advance if possible. Makeup classes are available within the same session or month, subject to availability and instructor approval. No refunds or tuition adjustments will be made for missed classes.
Cleanliness and Studio Etiquette
Only water is permitted inside the dance studios. No food, gum, or other beverages are allowed. Dancers should keep all belongings neatly stored in designated areas. Please respect the studio environment by cleaning up after yourself and disposing of trash properly. Street shoes are not allowed on dance floors to protect flooring and maintain hygiene. We ask that dancers arrive clean, dressed appropriately, and ready to dance. Acknowledgment and Agreement
