Consistent attendance is encouraged for proper skill development and class progression. Students who miss excessive classes may be asked to schedule a make-up class if available. The studio reserves the right to determine recital participation based on attendance and preparedness.
Dancers and families are expected to show the upmost respect toward instructors, staff, fellow dancers, and other studio families at all times. Disruptive, disrespectful, or unsafe behavior will not be tolerated. If a student becomes unable to participate appropriately after redirection, the studio reserves the right to remove the student from class. Continued behavioral concerns may result in dismissal from the program without refund.
In the event of inclement weather or unforeseen circumstances, classes may be canceled. The studio will communicate cancellations via designated communication channels. We do not follow the Greenbrier County Schools calendar, so please watch for direct communication about cancellations from the studio. Our dance year calendar is designed with 1 snow day built in per day of the week (Monday-Friday), if we exceed the 1 snow day, we will offer a make-up class at the studio's discretion.
Encore Community Arts & Encore School of Dance will communicate important updates through, email, BAND, parent portal or other designated platforms. Parents/Guardians are responsible for staying informed of all studio communications.
Dancers must adhere to the studio dress code for their specific class. Proper attire and dance footwear are required for participation and safety. Dance attire and proper footwear requirements can be found in the dancer handbook that is updated each dance year.
Dance is a physical activity that carries a risk of injury. By enrolling, parents/guardians acknowledge and accept these risks. Encore Community Arts/Encore School of Dance, its board of directors, instructors, and staff are not liable for injuries sustained during classes, rehearsals, or performances. Parents/guardians agree to inform the studio of any medical conditions or limitations prior to participation.
By enrolling, parents/guardians grant permission for the studio to photograph and/or video record dancers. These images and videos may be used for promotional purposes including, but not limited to, social media, website content, and marketing materials. No compensation will be provided for use of these materials.
Encore Community Arts & Encore School of Dance reserves the right to refuse or discontinue service to any student or family who does not comply with the studio policies or whose behavior is deemed inappropriate.
Tuition is non-refundable and non-transferable. Tuition must be paid by the stated due date. A $15 late fee will be applied if payment is not received within 7 days of the assigned due date. If tuition remains unpaid for 30 days, the student will not be permitted to attend classes until the account balance is paid in full. All Dancers accounts must have a $0 balance by the end of the season in order to participate in the upcoming recital.
