I acknowledge that participation in dance and associated physical activities involves inherent risks, including the risk of injury.

By allowing my child to participate in classes, rehearsals, performances and any activities provided by The Dance Academy, I voluntarily assume all such risks on behalf of my child. I understand the importance of my child following instructions, safety guidelines and studio rules set by instructors and staff.

I agree to release and indemnify The Dance Academy, its directors, employees and contractors from any liability for injury, loss or damage arising from my child's participation, except where such liability arises due to negligence by The Dance Academy.

I understand dance is a hands-on art form and that teachers, and on occasion other students, may use appropriate physical contact to assist with alignment, technique and corrections.

I agree to adhere to all studio policies and guidelines outlined on the TDA family website

Fees and Tuition Policy

I understand and agree that:
By enrolling at The Dance Academy Sunshine Coast, families acknowledge and agree that all tuition fees are paid via monthly direct debit/auto-pay, processed on the 1st of the month for all families. Payments may be made from a nominated bank account or credit card. Payment details can be updated at any time via the parent portal, and it is the responsibility of the account holder to ensure details remain current.

An annual registration fee is charged upon online enrolment or with the first auto-pay. For 2025 TDA families, your annual registration fee is charged on 19 January. Tuition fees are all-inclusive and cover class tuition, administration, end-of-year costume hire, production and concert fees, concert video, photo day, additional concert rehearsals.

Annual tuition is calculated across the full year and divided into 11 equal monthly payments, charged from February to December. Monthly fees remain consistent regardless of the number of lessons in a month, public holidays or studio closures due to school holidays.

If fees remain outstanding for more than 14 days, the dancer will be unable to participate in classes, rehearsals or concerts until the account is brought up to date. Students participating in concerts must be fully enrolled and have tuition fees paid through December to be eligible.

To withdraw from a class, 14 days’ notice from the 1st of the month must be provided in writing to info@thedanceacademy.com.au . Refunds will not be issued for any missed classes during this notice period.

If, within one month from the date of your first class, you feel our programs are not the right fit for your family, we will refund your paid tuition amount, excluding classes already attended. We ask that dancers attend at least two classes so families can truly experience our classes and dance family. If your chosen class does not feel like the right fit, we are more than happy to help you find a more suitable option. The registration fee will be refunded as part of this guarantee.
Please note, the Money Back Guarantee is not valid if the dancer has previously participated in a trial class, whether paid or free.

The Dance Academy Sunshine Coast is committed to protecting the privacy, safety and dignity of all students and families, while also celebrating and sharing the joy of dance within our community.

By enrolling with The Dance Academy Sunshine Coast and accepting these terms via StudioPro, you acknowledge and agree to the following Media Consent and Photography Policy unless you notify us otherwise in writing.

Use of Images and Recordings

I give permission for The Dance Academy Sunshine Coast to photograph, film and record (including audio and video) my child and/or myself during classes, rehearsals, performances, events and other studio-related activities.

Images and recordings may be used for lawful studio purposes, including but not limited to:

Printed materials such as brochures, posters and newsletters

Online and offline advertising and promotional materials

Digital media, including the studio website and social media platforms

Internal studio communications and educational materials

No identifying personal information (including surnames or home addresses) will be used in conjunction with any images or recordings.

No compensation is payable for the use of images or recordings.

Media Consent Options

Families may choose one of the following media consent options:

Option A – Full Media Consent (Default)

I consent to photographs, video and audio recordings being taken and shared publicly, including on social media platforms and in marketing and promotional materials for The Dance Academy Sunshine Coast.

This option applies by default unless the studio is notified otherwise in writing.

Option B – Internal Community Use Only

I consent to photographs, video and audio recordings being taken and shared only within The Dance Academy Sunshine Coast’s private community platforms, including closed BAND groups.

I do not consent to public use, social media or marketing materials.

Option C – No Media Consent

I do not consent to any photographs, video or audio recordings being taken of my child.

I understand and expressly acknowledge that if Option C is selected, my child will be unable to participate in studio events where photography or filming forms part of the event, including but not limited to:

Mid-year concerts

End-of-year concerts

Photo days

Rehearsals

This limitation is necessary due to the practical and logistical challenges of managing large group environments where photography and videography are integral.

Changing or Withdrawing Consent

If I wish to select Option B or Option C, or change my consent at any time, I must notify The Dance Academy Sunshine Coast in writing via email at info@thedanceacademy.com.au

Changes to consent apply to future use only, unless a specific removal request is made.

Reasonable Efforts and Acknowledgement of Limitations

The Dance Academy Sunshine Coast will take reasonable steps to respect and manage all media consent preferences. However, I acknowledge and accept that:

There is no absolute guarantee that my child will not appear incidentally in group photographs or recordings taken during classes, rehearsals, performances or events.

If an image or recording is published in error, I may contact the admin team and the studio will make best efforts to remove the content where reasonably possible.

Parent and Audience Filming

The Dance Academy Sunshine Coast actively works to reduce parent and audience filming during classes and viewing weeks.

However, I acknowledge that the studio cannot control images or recordings captured and shared by parents, guardians or audience members during viewing weeks, performances or studio events.

Safety and Security Recording

For safety and child-protection purposes, The Dance Academy Sunshine Coast operates visible security cameras within its studios.

These cameras record audio and video and operate independently of media consent selections, including Option C.
Footage is securely stored, is not used for marketing or promotional purposes, and is accessed only by authorised personnel where a safety concern or incident has been raised.
