Dreamweaver Dance Company
Full Parent and Student Handbook
Welcome
Thank you for joining our dance family. We are honored
to be part of your child’s creative journey and
look forward to a joyful year of learning, growth, and
confidence building. Dreamweaver Dance
Company offers a warm and encouraging environment
where dancers of all ages can thrive.
Program Overview
We provide mobile dance classes within preschools and
elementary schools as well as classes at the
Mountain View Community Center. Our programs serve
students from preschool through fifth grade,
along with additional offerings for our Elite Team
dancers. Curriculum includes tap, ballet, jazz, and hip
hop, with styles and schedules varying by location.
Recital Seasons
All mobile classes participate in Watch Week in
December and July. Families are invited to observe
class on-site at the school. In addition, all dancers are
invited to participate in our large, onstage theater
recital held at the end of the season.
Enrollment Periods
Enrollment periods vary by school partner. Some follow
semester enrollment, while others offer
yearlong enrollment with midyear re-enrollment
options. Families should refer to the specific school’s
dance enrollment guidelines. Placement is based on age,
school level, and teacher discretion.
Withdrawal Policy
A written notice of withdrawal is required prior to the
start of a new month. Once a new month’s charges
have processed, fees are nonrefundable. Written notice
may be emailed to
dream@dreamweaverdanceco.com.
Missed Class Policy
• If a student misses a class:
We do not offer makeup classes or tuition prorations for student
absences.
• If the teacher must miss a class:
The studio will schedule a makeup class.
• If a dancer cannot attend the scheduled teacher makeup
class:
Families may request a prorated credit for that class, and we will
honor the request on a case by case basis for DDC sole discretion.
Communication
We communicate through email, text, our BAND app,
and school communication channels. It is the
family’s responsibility to stay current with updates.
Contact us at dream@dreamweaverdanceco.com or
678.909.3584 with questions.
Attendance and Commitment
Consistent attendance is essential for progress and
recital readiness. Excessive absences may require
adjusted choreography or alternative recital
arrangements.
Dress Code
Most classes follow a tap and ballet combo structure.
For these classes, leotard and tights are
recommended, though some locations allow leggings
and a Dreamweaver Dance Company shirt on
dance days. Dancers should bring their dance clothes
and shoes weekly.
Footed tights of any color are preferred to protect
dancers’ feet from shoe rubbing. Elite Team dancers
must wear a black leotard and tan convertible tights for
all classes.
Dance Shoes
Tap shoes and ballet shoes are required for combo
classes. Jazz and hip hop classes require jazz
shoes or clean indoor sneakers designated only for
dance use.
Behavior Expectations
We promote kindness, respect, and a supportive
learning environment. Dancers are expected to listen,
participate, and treat others with respect. Disruptive
behavior may result in parent communication or
removal from class if needed.
Safety and Injury Procedures
Safety is a priority. Minor injuries will be reported to
the school and parent. In emergencies, we follow
the school’s emergency protocol and contact parents
immediately.
Inclement Weather
Inclement Weather Policy
• DDC will either reschedule or prorate tuition for up to two
(2) inclement weather closures each season.
• If the schools must close more than twice due to weather,
additional makeup classes or prorations will be decided at
DDC’s discretion.
Pick Up and Drop Off
Pick Up and Drop Off Policy
Because our classes take place during or right after the school day,
each school location handles its own arrival and dismissal
procedures.
Families must follow the school’s carline and pickup rules. DDC
staff do not run separate carlines or manage school
dismissal.
If student is coming on a day that they usually do not
attend school, arrangements will be made with the school
and DDC discretion.
