STUDIO POLICIES & WAIVER for 2026-2027 SEASON

The studio will be closed for the following holidays:
Sept. 5 & 7 (Labor Day),
October 10 – 16 (Fall Break),
November 23-28 (Thanksgiving),
December 21-- January 2 (Christmas),
March 8-13 (Spring Break),
March 26 & 27(Easter)
May 31 (Memorial Day)

RECITAL DATES are possibly May 22th & 23rd or May 29th & 30th, 2027 (Memorial Day Weekend)

TUITION AND FEES - Registration fee (non-refundable): $40.00 - one student $20.00 -each additional family member

Please note: Registration fee plus 1 and ¾ months of tuition is due upon registration and enrollment. Tuition covers August (3 weeks) and May 2027 (entire month). The registration fee is due upon registration. After verification by the office of the class(es), you registered to take are correct, your 3 weeks of August tuition and 4 weeks of May 2027 will be posted and then due.

Tuition rates are based on the entire term, August 2026 through May 2027. When you enroll, you are considered enrolled for the full term and receive a discounted class rate accordingly. Though the actual number of classes may vary each month, total tuition for the term is divided into equal monthly payments. The registration fee, August, and May tuition are non-refundable. The pre-paid May 2027 tuition is non-refundable 30 days after enrollment.

Tuition is due on the first of each month. We will send statements by email. You may either pay online on the Studio Pro website or app or in person at the studio office. You can either set up the auto payment or add a credit card for payment on the Studio Pro website or app and it will be charged on the 5th of the month, or you can pay monthly on the site/app. A late fee of $20.00 will be charged if payment is not received by 11:59 pm. on the 10th of the month. If you are billed, the $20 it indicates that you are late with your payment, and YOU ARE EXPECTED TO PAY A $20.00 LATE FEE. We accept cash, checks, MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover. Payments may be left in the black mailbox on the office window, if no one is in the office. Just make sure the payment is marked for the student.

A $35.00 fee will be charged for each returned check.

Recital Costume & Tight fees: Recital costume & tight fees range from approximately $90 - $140 per costume. Costume orders and a $90 deposit per costume will be due no later than November 10th. There will be a $20 per costume late fee for all costumes ordered after November 10th. There will be no refunds once costumes have been ordered.

Performance fees: Fort Bend Academy of Dance provides your student with the opportunity to perform in a professional quality production at the end of each year. Performance fees cover rental of the theater, prop and set costs, and technical expenses. Participation is required for pre-professional division students. Performance fees are $130 per student if they are in one Recital and $170 per student if they are in both recitals. This fee includes tickets (6 per student/8 for families) to the performance(s). Performance fees are non-refundable and due no later than March 10th. A $20 late fee will be applied if the Performance fee is not paid by March 10th.

ATTIRE: Dress codes will be strictly enforced.
A. Students without proper attire and hair will not be permitted to take class.
B. Buns need to be secured with either a bun cover or hair net covering the bun.
C. Students not dressed in proper class colored leotard will need to borrow a “LOANER” leotard from the studio office before entering class.

Only Leotards and tights purchased from our supplier are allowed!!!!

1. Ballet/Pointe (Females): Colored leotard as designated for your level, pink tights & shoes with hair in a secured bun with a bun cover.
2. Ballet/Jazz/Tap (Males): Black tights, bike shorts or jazz pants, white or black t-shirt, Dance belt, black ballet/jazz/tap shoes
3. Jazz: Black leotard or class color leotard, black tights or jazz pants, black split sole shoes, hair pulled away from face and secured to head
4. Tap: Ballet or Jazz attire, black flat tap shoes (jazz taps for older students), hair pulled away from face and secured to head
5. Pre-school Ballet/tap: Pink leotard, pink tights, pink ballet shoes, black tap shoes, hair in a secured bun with a bun cover
6. No jewelry, panties, legwarmers, ballet skirts, large shirts or street clothes will be allowed in class.



ATTENDANCE AND TARDINESS: Regular attendance and arriving for class on time are essential to a dancer’s progress and success. There is no refund or tuition adjustment for missed classes. Missed classes may be made up within 30 days if there is an available class of appropriate age and ability. Please schedule all make-ups through the office. There will be no make-up classes during the month of April or May.

Pre-professional division classes (levels 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8) are subject to periodic change and/or cancellation.

Late arrivals distract students and disturb the continuity of the class. If you are late, please enter the studio quietly with as little disturbance as possible. Any student arriving more than 10 minutes late may be required to observe class. Students should be picked up promptly after class. Students must wait inside the studio, not outside! We are not responsible for students once they leave the studio.

PRE-POINTE & POINTE STUDENTS: Pointe study is by invitation only based on evaluation of the dancer’s technical proficiency, placement, structural development, strength and age. Pointe technique is difficult and requires a serious commitment from the dancer. Dancers must be enrolled for all the required ballet/pre-pointe/pointe classes for their program level. Poor attendance and or habitual tardiness may result in a dancer’s removal from the pre- pointe/pointe program. It typically takes 18 – 24 months of Pre-Pointe classes to be ready for Pointe Shoes. Both Pre-Pointe and Pointe students are required to take at least 5 weeks of classes during the summer to continue in Pre-pointe or Pointe in the Fall.

WITHDRAWL: If you choose to discontinue classes, you must file written notification with our office 30 days prior to withdrawal to protect your discounted class rate. Tuition will continue to accrue until proper notification is received. There will be no refunds or pro-ration of tuition upon withdrawal. Any leave of absence (unless mandated by a physician) will be considered a withdrawal and will require payment of additional registration fee upon return.

If you wish to add or drop a class during the year, you must inform the office in writing.

CLASSROOM ENVIRONMENT: Dance is fun! However, classroom discipline is an integral part of successful training. Classes will be taught in a positive, encouraging environment designed to build confidence and self-esteem. Students are expected to exhibit appropriate behavior during class and show respect for both teachers and fellow dancers.

LOBBY: No food, drinks other than water, gum or candy allowed in the studio or the lobby.

OBSERVATION: Pre-school parents (Ballet/Tap classes) are welcome to watch classes. We ask if siblings come, they do not disturb classes. For parents of all other dancers, we will have observation weeks where parents may come in and observe classes. Observation weeks will be December 14 - 19, 2026. The Spring date is TBA.

AGREEMENT: I will not hold Fort Bend Academy of Dance or any of its agents, employees, or representatives liable for any illnesses contracted or injuries sustained by me while a student at the academy.

I understand and agree that in participating in any dance class, workshop, rehearsal or performance, there is a possibility of physical injury and, in rare circumstances, death. I agree to release and hold harmless Fort Bend Academy of Dance, including its teachers, dancers, staff members, and facilities from any cause of action, claims, or demands now and in the future. I will not hold Fort Bend Academy of Dance liable for any personal injury or any personal property damage, which may occur on the premises before, during or after classes. Furthermore, I understand that I should be aware of my, and/or my child’s physical limitations and agree not to exceed them. If I am signing this waiver for my child, I certify that I am the parent or legal guardian and have the right to waive these rights.
VERY IMPORTANT: Your copy of the studio policy should be kept in a safe place for your reference. Everyone is expected to abide by the policies without exception.
