Elev8 Dance Company – Student & Parent Handbook + Code of Conduct
Welcome to Elev8! We are so excited to have you join our dance family. This handbook is designed to help everyone understand the values, expectations, and policies that make our studio a safe, positive, and empowering space for all.

GENERAL CODE OF CONDUCT
Dancers agree to:
• Show respect to instructors, fellow dancers, and the studio space.
• Arrive on time, prepared, and in proper attire.
• Try their best and maintain a positive attitude in every class.
• Keep gossip, negativity, and drama out of the studio.
• Use kind language, listen actively, and encourage others.
• Keep phones away during class unless given permission.
• Take care of the space — no food, gum, or drinks (except water) in studios.
Parents/Guardians agree to:
• Support their dancer’s growth with encouragement and communication.
• Address questions or concerns directly and respectfully with staff.
• Respect class start and end times, and studio policies.
• Refrain from coaching, critiquing, or distracting during classes.
• Help create a drama-free, inclusive, and uplifting environment.

TUITION & PAYMENT
-Tuition is due on the 25th of each month unless otherwise arranged.
-Late fees may be applied after a 3 day grace period.
-Costumes, competition fees, and other event fees will be communicated in advance with due dates.
-Monthly payments are not refundable if a student decides to drop out mid month.

ATTENDANCE & COMMITMENT
• Regular attendance is expected for consistent progress.
• Please notify the studio if a dancer will be absent.
• Excessive absences may affect class placement or performance opportunities.
• Dancers must be on time and ready to dance when class begins.

DRESS CODE
General guidelines:
• Hair must be secured out of the face.
• Proper shoes and dancewear are required.

PHOTOS, VIDEOS & SOCIAL MEDIA
• Elev8 may share photos/videos from class or events for promotional purposes.
• If you prefer your dancer not be featured, please let us know in writing.
• All social media content should reflect the values of Elev8 — respectful, positive, and kind.

STUDIO VALUES
• Respect: For yourself, your teammates, your teachers, and your space.
• Growth Mindset: We make mistakes, learn, and try again.
• Community: We support one another and celebrate everyone’s wins.
• Integrity: We do what’s right, even when no one’s watching.

CONSEQUENCES FOR MISCONDUCT
Elev8 Dance Company has a zero-tolerance policy for bullying or unsafe behavior.
Depending on the situation, disciplinary steps may include:
1. Verbal reminder
2. Parent/guardian contact
3. Temporary or permanent removal from class or studio activities

COMMUNICATION
We believe in open and honest communication.

• Studio updates will be sent via email or posted on our social media channels.
• Emergency closures will be communicated promptly.
