RESPONSIBILITY
• Respect the space: Keep the studio tidy and pick up after yourself.
• Classrooms and equipment are for use only with a teacher or parent present; no unsupervised activity.
• Ensure your child is on time for classes and picked up promptly. For bathroom assistance, parents must be in the waiting room. Regular practice should involve students using the bathroom before class to avoid missing class time.
• Steps reserves the right to change the schedule; any changes will be communicated via email.
• Our classrooms are spaces of learning and respect. Parents will be advised if our staff feels any student is not adjusting well to the classroom environment for any reason over time.
• Our space has a zero tolerance for gossip, foul language, bullying or violence. Any student or parent found in violation will be asked to leave the studio.
PAYMENT
• Fees are based on weekly hours and processed monthly. Payment is due by the 1st, with a 15-day grace period. Late payments incur a 5% fee after 15 days and services will be denied after 60 days.
• There are no refunds for missed classes, but make-up options will be offered. Regular absence is strongly discouraged as it impedes the progress of the child and their class.
• If Steps cancels a class due to weather or any other unforeseen circumstance, a make-up date will be announced. If you are unable to attend the scheduled make-up date, other options to make-up the class will be provided. No credit will be given for missed classes.
• Withdrawals must be communicated before the 1st of the month; No tuition refunds for mid-month withdrawals. No refunds for ordered/made costumes.
• Please log into your online account to see your monthly fees/balances and to set up online payment options. In studio payment options will be available as cash/cheque/credit/debit. E-transfers are also accepted.
• To pay by post-dated cheques, September's fee is due at registration, and 9 cheques (Oct 1–June 1) must be provided thereafter. A $45 fee applies for returned cheques.
• Costume deposits of $60 are due by Feb 1. There are no refunds for costumes once they are ordered or made, even if a student withdraws.
In consideration of accepting my registration at Steps Performing Arts Centre:
- I agree to pay all fees and accept responsibility for any NSF or late fees. If payments are not made, my child may be withdrawn from classes.
- I release Steps Performing Arts Centre and its staff from any liability, claims and causes of action arising from any injury, damage or loss I or my child may sustain as a result of my/their participation.
- I acknowledge that Steps is not responsible for damaged, lost, or stolen personal belongings.
- I acknowledge that damages, vandalism, or theft are the involved parties' financial and administrative responsibility.
- I am aware that as the parent/guardian/participant it is my responsibility to be up to date on newsletters, emails or information posted in the studio.
- I acknowledge that failure to honor the policies outlined by Steps will result in dismissal from classes, programs, or performances.
- I consent to my dancer being photographed by Steps Staff for social media and advertising purposes.
