I am fully aware of and understand the risks that are inherent in the sport of dance, dance training, and dance competition, despite all reasonable precautions taken for participants' safety. Those risks include the risk of catastrophic injury, paralysis, and death, and the damage and losses associated with those risks. I knowingly and willingly assume all those risks as a condition of Student's participation in the programs and activities offered and conducted by Studio K Dance Company. For myself and for my heirs and personal representatives, and for anyone claiming through me, I hereby waive and release any and all rights and claims for damages for personal injury or other loss that Student might have or sustain as a result of or relating to Student's participation in any of the programs and activities of Studio K Dance Company. The persons released from claims include Studio K Dance Company, and the owners, directors, officers, operators, instructors, trainers, and staff of Studio K Dance Company.

Cancellation requests must be submitted by the 20th of the month or you will be responsible for the following month's tuition. There are no fees for cancellation. You submit your cancellation by email to studio.k.bakersfield@gmail.com.

Class times and scheduling of make-ups should be done in advance. We do not guarantee class availability for walk-ins. Any classes that are full will have a waitlist available. If someone cancels in advance of the class, you will be notified. If you show up and the class is full, you may wait for 10 minutes to see if the class will have room. If there is room your child will be allowed to join at that time.

This policy is designed to obtain permission from parents or legal guardians before photographing or recording children during activities in our facility. By enrolling a child in Studio K Dance Company, parents or legal guardians grant permission for the child to be photographed or recorded during class activities for marketing and promotional materials. Photographs and recording may be used in various promotional materials, including but not limited to brochures, websites, social media, and other marketing channels.

I agree to have a valid credit card on file at all times. All contracts must pay an annual registration fee. This will be billed on your signup month every year. Tuition will be posted on the 25th for the next month's classes and auto pay will run on the 1st. Any payments after the 1st are subject to a $15 late fee. All recreational contracts require a credit card to be put down for automatic payment. You may make payment prior to the date of your automatic billing cycle. If a special circumstance arises and a family needs to pay late, setup auto-pay for a different date, or split payments, the family must first communicate and get approval from management to make arrangements. Tuition is non-refundable, however, make-up classes are available for 30 days from the missed class. Tuition remains the same regardless of shorter months and Holidays.

Performance Waiver & Acknowledgment

We are excited to announce that our studio will be putting on two performances per year: one in December for our Christmas Show and one in June for our End-of-Year Show. These performances provide an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their hard work and talent!

Important Information:

Performance Fee: A performance fee will be charged for our end of year show. This fee helps cover the costs of production, venue, rehearsal time, and other event-related expenses. We strive to keep this fee as affordable as possible while delivering a high-quality experience.

Additional Fees: There will also be additional costs associated with these performances, which may include tickets, costumes, and picture days.

By participating in the recital, you acknowledge that all costume fees are non-refundable and non-exchangeable. Once costumes are ordered, no changes, cancellations, or refunds will be issued.

Commitment to Affordability & Quality: We make every effort to keep these performances affordable for families, while ensuring that they remain a memorable and enjoyable experience for both our dancers and their loved ones.

Opt-Out Option: Participation in recitals and performances is not mandatory. If you prefer for your child not to participate, there will be an option to opt out of these events. You will be provided with further instructions on how to notify us if you choose this option.

More Details to Follow: We will send out more detailed information about these events as they approach. This will include specific dates, required payments, costume information, and other important details to ensure a smooth and successful performance experience.

By signing below, you acknowledge and agree to the performance fee and other additional fees associated with the performances and understand that more information will be provided closer to the event dates.

As Student, or as Student's parent or legal guardian, I declare that I am aware of Student's experience and capabilities, and I understand the nature of the dance programs and activities referred to in the preceding paragraph. I believe Student to be in good health, in proper physical condition, and otherwise qualified to participate in those programs and activities. I hereby further release each of the persons designated in the preceding paragraph from any and all claims for loss caused or alleged to. have been caused by the negligence of the persons released, or by the negligence of any third person (including emergency and health care personnel), relating to those programs and activities and medical or emergency aid rendered in connection therewith. I covenant not to sue any of the persons released in connection with any such claim, and I agree to indemnify and hold them harmless from any cost, expense, attorney's fee, or other loss if Student, I, or any other person acting on the Student's behalf or otherwise makes any such claim against any of them.

Students must be escorted into and out of the studio by a parent or guardian. We are concerned with the safety of all the children who enter our facility. For any children who are not potty trained, a parent of guardian must remain in the studio and available at all times in case they need to use the restroom. For your child's safety as well as the safety of the other children in the studio, it is imperative that students listen and follow the instructions of their instructors at all times. We understand that these are young children and sometimes they may have a bad day. If a child is unruly or disobedient, they will be given a verbal warning. With a second verbal warning, they may be asked to sit in timeout. If a student continues to be disruptive a third time, they will be asked to leave the class. They may not return to the class that day if they have been asked to leave. However, should this occur you may see the front desk and they can schedule a make up for another time when they are having a better day.

Holiday Closure Policy 2025–2026
Studio K will be closed on the following dates for holidays and seasonal breaks. If Halloween falls on a weekday (Monday-Friday) the studio will be closed for that day. Tuition is based on the full season and already accounts for these closures. Make-up classes will be available for single day closures. Make-up classes must be attended within 30 days from the holiday closure.
