Arrival
Please be aware that Google maps has a hard time with our address. You may have to type in 1401 S. Harlem to be directed to the correct building. Since our front entrance is located on such a busy street we encourage entering through the back door where the parking lot is located.
Studio doors open 15 minutes before our first class of the day begins. Please arrive at least 5 minutes before your class time with student dressed and ready to dance. Please refrain from wearing dance shoes outside. Street shoes are not allowed inside of Studio A, B, or D.
Technology
All items of technology must be silenced and kept in your dancer’s dance bag. Please note that we will not be permitting dancers to wear their smart watches during class to avoid distraction. Smart watches are not permitted during classes and dancers will be asked to keep their smart watches in their dance bags during class. Dance bags and all electronic devices are not allowed inside the studio rooms and must be kept in the dancer break room.
Behavior
At Ricochet Dance Company, our number ONE priority is to create a safe space for all of our students. We do not tolerate bullying, harassment, or mistreatment of any kind. Students are expected to treat their teachers and fellow dancers with respect. Additionally, we do not tolerate damage to property.
If dancers engage in any harmful behavior at the studio, we will uphold the following policy:
• Verbal offenses: We will follow a three-strike policy. If a dancer says something hurtful to a teacher or student, we will immediately speak with the parents/guardians.
• Physical harm or Threat of physical harm: If a dancer harms someone or threatens to harm someone, including but not limited to pushing, pulling hair, hitting, or punching, they will not be welcome back at the studio.
• Damage to the studio: If a dancer damages anything in the studio, including sound equipment, plumbing, or personal property of another dancer or teacher, their family will be responsible for replacing the damaged item.
Sick Policy
Ricochet Dance Company strives to provide a safe and healthy environment for all dancers. If a student has experienced vomiting, diarrhea, fever, or other flue and/or covid-19 symptoms with in 48 hours of class we ask that students are kept home until they have remained symptom free for a full 24 hours. Example: Student A vomits on Tuesday but they have class on Wednesday - please skip class on Wednesday and only return to class on Thursday if it has been a full 24 hours since symptoms have occurred otherwise please return on Friday or the following week.
If a student has strep throat please refrain from attending class until 24 hours of antibiotics have been completed.
In the event of a norovirus, stomach flue, or strep throat outbreak (four or more students simultaneously or consecutively) the studio will close for cleaning for the appropriate amount time (typically no more than one week) to prevent the continuation of spreading illness.
Missed Classes
Ricochet Dance Company understands that illness, travel, and other conflicts may occur throughout the dance session. We will permit up to 3 makeup classes for your dancer. Your dancer may attend another class of the same age group to make up for a missed class.
Snow/Dangerous Weather
In the event we need to close the studio due to weather concerns an email will be sent out and we will post the closure on social media @ricochetdancecompany. We will do our best to create make up opportunities for the missed class but this is not guaranteed.
