Communication:
Throughout the year, there is a lot of information that is communicated to our dancers and families. Please add chippewavalleyirishdance@gmail.com to your email list. We regularly send email updates.
Code of Conduct:
Every dancer will need to be respectful of all students and teachers. We will not tolerate any physical or verbal abuse, including “name calling” or “bullying” by any student. If a student disrupts the safety of other students in the class they will be asked to leave without refund.
All students must also show respect to the property of others. Any intentional damage to or theft of such property or class equipment will not be tolerated and could result in the student’s dismissal from class without refund.
If a student does not abide by these rules they may be asked to discontinue dance classes until they can use appropriate behavior. At any time, we reserve the right to refuse service based on the above mentioned.
Acceptance and Placement in Classes:
Chippewa Valley Irish Dance, LLC and its instructors will place students in classes. We feel it is important that the dancers are in the correct level of class. We ask for your respect in regards to our expertise in class placement. We desire to see every student grow within our classes. When a class is too challenging, they may not be able to grasp and learn proper technique. Likewise, when it is too easy, a student may not grow as a dancer.
In cases where a potential or current student has a relevant medical history, the business owner reserves the right to request a doctor's note or medical clearance to ensure the dancer's safety and well-being. This documentation may be required before participation in any classes, activities, or performances.
Performing Opportunities
Engaging with the community and sharing what the dancers have worked so hard on is one of our favorite things to do. We encourage all dancers to give performing a try as it encourages them to step out of their comfort zone. Extra practices are often a part of preparing for performances, and those are scheduled around participant availability. Performances will be offered to dancers based on level, availability and experience.
Costumes are required to be worn for performing events. Costumes will vary depending on the event and the dancer’s age and class placement.
Class Expectations:
Please arrive prior to your class, ready to participate (shoes on and tied, hair up and out of the face). When your class is finished, please clear the studio promptly, to allow others to begin their classes. Parent check-ins with teachers are welcome.
Parents are responsible for any children/dependents outside of the immediate classroom.
Class time is precious – please allow time for restroom breaks before or after class only! We try to limit bathroom breaks during class time as much as possible.
Upon registration with our school, parents/guardians are welcome in the first class as an introduction. After the first class, due to limited space in the studio, parents may wait nearby until the end of class. Students under 10 must be accompanied by an adult known to us and them when leaving.
The steps and choreography taught at CVID are the intellectual property of Chippewa Valley Irish Dance, LLC. No part of these steps may be used or adapted with the exception of the published, public, traditional set dances and ceili dances.
All students enrolling in Chippewa Valley Irish Dance must disclose any previous involvement with another school or dance organization. Students 18 and under may not belong to or participate in another Irish/Celtic related performance or competition dance organization while enrolled with CVID unless disclosed to and approved by Brenna Jasper.
The CVID dance studio is available for practice on weekends and non-class nights. Students wishing to book studio time or check availability, please email our Brenna at chippewavalleyirishdance@gmail.com. The cost of the studio is $5 per dancer, per hour.
