CLASSES/FEES
Fees are based on the full year’s tuition and divided among the 10 months of Dance. Your monthly fees include all regular classes as well as: festival/competition dates, photo days, theatre rehearsals, and recitals. If an instructor is unable to teach their class, a substitute will fill in. Classes will be made up in the case of cancellation. All monthly payments are to be submitted at the time of registration.
Registration Fee $75 per family is required at the time of registration. This fee is non-refundable.

Automatic withdrawal from your personal chequing account
Pre-Authorization for Visa or Mastercard dated for the 1st of each month. (Additional monthly charge of 2.5%)
Please Note:
If your monthly pre-authorization does not process, we will try and processes until the transaction is approved. Kelowna Dance & Performing Arts Inc shall not be liable for any expense which you incur as a result of a payment which fails to process.
All cheques are to be made payable to Kelowna Dance & Performing Arts or KDPA.
Cheques may not be deposited exactly on the 1st or 20th day of each month.
Each cheque returned NSF will have a $50 charge
June payment is due in September and is non-refundable

REFUND POLICY
A full month’s notice is required to be given by the parent at the time the student decides to withdraw from the program
The month in which notice is given is non-refundable
If notice is not given by the first of the month, the month after notice is given shall also be non-refundable
June is paid upfront in September and is non-refundable, no exceptions
Registration fees are $60 per family
The cost of costume deposits and costume balances are non-refundable
Competition fees are non-refundable

ATTENDANCE
Attendance is mandatory for all classes. We understand students get sick, and that there is life outside of Dance. If students are unable to make it to class, please call or e-mail the studio to let your teacher know. Thank you in advance. PLEASE NOTE: There are no refunds for any absences. If your child has an injury, and is seeing a specialist as a result, (dance related or not) and must sit out, we will need a permission note from the Doctor stating they are able to participate in class.

DRESS CODE
Kelowna Dance & Performing Arts Inc has a dress code/uniform for every class. It is mandatory that students wear their uniform for each class even at the end of the dance season. If a student arrives to class without the proper uniform, they will be asked to sit out.

COSTUMES
Costumes will be ordered in October, 2025. A $75.00 non-refundable costume deposit per class will be required at the time of registration. Balances for costumes are due when invoices come out. Costume expenses will range anywhere from approximately $100 to $250 each. These costumes are to be worn at dress rehearsals, photo days, competitions, and at the year-end recital only. After the recital, the costumes are the students to keep. Students performing solos, duets, and extra routines (which are optional and by invite only) will have extra costume costs. Invoicing for these costumes will be received before the order has been placed. ALL costumes are non-refundable.
All students have a Kelowna Dance account. If parents have paid costume fees however, are in arrears for competition fees or monthly fees, costumes will not go out. Students will not be permitted to Dance in recital or compete if accounts are not up to date. Please Note: Alterations for costumes is the responsibility of each student’s parent/guardian.

GENERAL POLICIES, WAIVER/RELEASE/INDEMNITY
To run Kelowna Dance with integrity and quality service, it is imperative that any questions or concerns are brought to Miss Melodie’s attention immediately.
Kelowna Dance & Performing Arts Inc. requests that each child/student consult with a physician with respect to any past or present illness or injury
that may affect his/her participation in, and ability to take part in the exercise, dance, or acrobatic instruction.
It is against the core values of Kelowna Dance to comment on Instructors classes and/or students’ performances while watching the TVS.

If there are any medical conditions that may affect the student’s ability to participate in class, please indicate this in your registration.
All tuition, costume fees and/or any other outstanding balances must be paid in full prior to the release of costumes
Please call the studio if your child will be late or unable to attend class or rehearsal
Dancers are to remain in the student lounge until the teacher opens the studio doors
By selecting "I Accept" below you give consent to Kelowna Dance using photos and or videos of your child for promotional purposes.
Students/Parents are not permitted to create social media accounts with KDPA or Kelowna Dance name
No hanging or leaning on the barres
No touching the mirrors
No chewing gum
No loose jewelry
No running in the Dance Studios, or in the lobby
No outdoor footwear in the classroom
Please be respectful of the studio and help us to keep it clean
KDPA reserves the right to charge a withdrawal fee of a MINIMUM of one month’s tuition.
By way of your signature/initial below, you authorize Kelowna Dance & Performing Arts Inc. to use photos/videos of your child/student for promotional/social media purposes.
KDPA will not tolerate disrespectful behavior or language towards fellow students or teachers. Students or parents/guardians displaying this type of behavior will be dismissed from class and may also be asked to withdraw from the Studio.
Each instructor reserves the right to dismiss a student from class for violating dance class etiquette or dress code.

BY SIGNING THIS DOCUMENT, YOU WILL WAIVE OR GIVE UP CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS ON YOUR BEHALF AND ON BEHALF OF THE STUDENT, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE FOR NEGLIGENCE, BREACH OF CONTRACT OR BREACH OF THE OCCUPIER’S LIABILITY ACT OR CLAIM COMPENSATION FOLLOWING AN ACCIDENT. PLEASE READ CAREFULLY.

To: Kelowna Dance & Performing Arts Inc., its owners, officers, directors, partners, shareholders, agents, instructors, independent contractors, affiliates, volunteers, participants, employees, representatives, successors, assignees, insurers, and all other persons or entities acting in any capacity on their behalf (the “Releasees”).
In consideration of the Releasees agreeing to the student’s participation in dance classes, festivals, competitions, photo days, theatre rehearsals, recitals, all similar dance activities, and all activities related thereto (the “Activities”) and permitting the student’s use of their services, equipment, and facilities, and for other good and valuable consideration, the receipt and sufficiency of which is acknowledged, I hereby acknowledge and agree as the parent or guardian of the student as follows:
That the Releasees make no representations regarding the safety of the Activities or regarding whether the Activities are appropriate for the student to undertake.
I understand that the Activities are inherently risky activities that include known and unknown dangers. I have full knowledge of the nature and extent of all risks associated with the Activities, including but not limited to the risk of injury, paralysis, or death of the student from slips and falls, negligently administered first aid, collisions with other persons; collisions with objects, loss of balance or control, failure of a student to act safely or within one’s own ability, negligence of other persons, and negligence on the part of the Releasees. I acknowledge that this list is not inclusive of all possible risks associated with the Activities. I have informed myself to my own satisfaction of the nature of all such inherent risks, and I FREELY ACCEPT AND FULLY ASSUME ALL SUCH RISKS, DANGERS AND HAZARDS AND THE POSSIBILITY OF PERSONAL INJURY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR LOSS RESULTING THEREFROM ON BEHALF OF THE STUDENT.
In consideration for allowing the student to participate in the Activities, I agree, to the greatest extent permitted by law, TO WAIVE ON MY BEHALF AND ON BEHALF OF THE STUDENT ANY AND ALL CLAIMS AGAINST AND TO HOLD HARMLESS, RELEASE, INDEMNIFY, AND AGREE NOT TO SUE THE RELEASEES FOR ANY INJURY, INCLUDING DEATH, LOSS, PROPERTY DAMAGE OR EXPENSE, WHICH THE STUDENT MAY SUFFER, ARISING IN WHOLE OR IN PART OUT OF THEIR PARTICIPATION IN THE ACTIVITIES, INCLUDING, BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THOSE CLAIMS BASED ON ANY RELEASEES’ ALLEGED OR ACTUAL NEGLIGENCE OR BREACH OF ANY CONTRACT AND/OR EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OR BREACH OF ANY STATUTORY OR OTHER DUTY OF CARE, INCLUDING ANY DUTY OF CARE UNDER THE OCCUPIERS LIABILITY ACT. I UNDERSTAND THAT NEGLIGENCE INCLUDES FAILURE ON THE PART OF ANY RELEASEES TO TAKE REASONABLE STEPS TO SAFEGUARD OR PROTECT AGAINST THE RISKS, DANGERS, AND HAZARDS OF THE ACTIVITY.

I ALSO AGREE TO PAY ALL COSTS, INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES, INCURRED BY ANY RELEASEES IN DEFENDING AN INVESTIGATION, CLAIM OR LAWSUIT BROUGHT BY OR ON MY BEHALF OR BY OR ON BEHALF OF THE STUDENT WHETHER ARISING IN WHOLE OR IN PART FROM THE STUDENT’S PARTICIPATION IN ANY OF THE ACTIVITIES.

I agree that this waiver, release, and indemnity will be effective and binding upon my and the student’s heirs, next of kin, executors, administrators, assigns and representatives, in the event of our death or incapacity.
The laws of the Province of British Columbia, and federal laws of Canada applicable in British Columbia govern this waiver, release, and indemnity. I agree that any litigation involving this waiver, release, and indemnity or the student’s participation in the Activities will be brought solely within the Province of British Columbia. If any part of this waiver, release, and indemnity is held unenforceable, the validity of all remaining parts will not be affected.
In signing this waiver, release, and indemnity, I am not relying on any oral or written representations or statements made by any Releasees with respect to the Activities other than what is set forth in this waiver, release, and indemnity.
