Velvet Movement Parent/Guardian Agreement & Terms of Registration:
Welcome to Velvet Movement! We are excited to have your child join our dance family. To ensure the best experience for all of our students, we ask that you carefully read and agree to the following Terms and Conditions upon registering your child for classes.
By signing/clicking “I Agree” this agreement, you are confirming that you understand and accept the terms outlined below.
1. Registration & Payment
Registration Fee: A non-refundable registration fee is required for all students upon enrollment. This fee is due at the time of registration and covers administrative costs for setting up your child’s account.
Tuition Fees: Tuition is due in advance of the month (taken out on the 1st) and must be paid in full by the first of each month. Payment options include monthly payments, or an upfront yearly payment plan. Tuition is non-refundable once paid, regardless of attendance. Auto Pay is required for Velvet Movement. Please see “Pricing and Information” on the website for more details.
Late Payment: A late fee of $20 will be applied if payment is not received by the due date. Students with outstanding balances may be prohibited from attending class until payment is received.
Discounts: Discounts for siblings or multi-class enrollments is available. Check the website on “Pricing and Information.”
2. Class Attendance & Policies
Class Schedule: Classes will be held according to the published schedule. Velvet Movement reserves the right to make changes to the schedule or cancel classes based on enrollment or unforeseen circumstances. In the event of class cancellations, make-up sessions may be offered.
Attendance: Consistent attendance is vital to your child’s progress. Parents should notify the studio in advance if their child will miss a class. Excessive absences may impact your child’s ability to participate in performances or progress in their level.
Tardiness: Students should arrive on time for class. If a student is late more than 10 minutes, they will not be allowed to participate in the full class, depending on the instructor’s discretion.
Pick Up: Please be prompt in receiving your child upon completion of the class they are enrolled in. Failure to do so may be up to the instructor/owners to dismiss the child from the studio.
3. Health & Safety
Health & Injury: Parents/Guardians must inform the studio of any medical conditions, allergies, or injuries that may affect their child’s ability to participate in dance classes. The studio is not responsible for any injuries sustained during class or on the premises. It is highly recommended that students have appropriate health insurance.
Emergency Contact: An emergency contact form must be completed upon registration, including medical information and emergency contacts.
Dress Code: Students are required to follow the dress code for their specific dance style. Failure to adhere to the dress code may result in the student being asked to sit out of class. Please visit the website for specific information on dress code “Pricing and Information”
Personal Belongings: The studio is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal items. Students should only bring essential items to class.
4. Performance & Events
Recitals/Performances: The studio may hold an annual recital or other performances throughout the year. Participation in these events is encouraged but not mandatory. Additional fees will apply for costumes, tickets, and rehearsals.
Photography/Video Release: By signing this agreement, you grant Velvet Movement permission to photograph and/or videotape your child during class, performances, or other studio events. These images/videos may be used for promotional purposes, including on our website and social media platforms.
Costumes & Attire: Costume fees for recitals or performances are additional and due by the specified deadline. All students are required to wear the appropriate costume and footwear for performances.
5. Conduct & Behavior
Student Behavior: Students are expected to show respect for their instructors, fellow students, and the studio premises. Disruptive or unsafe behavior may result in a student being removed from class.
Parent Conduct: Parents are expected to maintain a respectful and supportive atmosphere at the studio. Aggressive or inappropriate behavior toward staff, other parents, or students will not be tolerated.
Classroom Etiquette: Parents are asked to wait in the designated waiting area during class. Unless otherwise specified, parents are not permitted to observe or participate in class.
6. Cancellation & Withdrawal
Class Withdrawal: If you wish to withdraw your child from a class, a written notice must be submitted to the studio at least 30 days in advance. No refunds will be provided for the current term or any pre-paid fees.
Studio Closure: In the event of studio closures due to holidays, weather, or emergencies, “acts of God” the studio will make reasonable efforts to reschedule missed classes. In some cases, no make-up classes will be offered, and no refunds will be provided.
7. Liability
Assumption of Risk: By enrolling your child in Velvet Movement, you acknowledge that dance is a physical activity that carries an inherent risk of injury. You accept full responsibility for any injury or harm that may result from participation in classes, performances, or other studio events.
Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Velvet Movement, its instructors, employees, and agents from any and all claims, damages, or losses arising from your child’s participation in any studio activity.
8. Acknowledgment & Consent
By signing this Parent/Guardian Agreement, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to the Terms and Conditions of enrollment at Velvet Movement. You also acknowledge that you are the parent or legal guardian of the child listed on the registration form and have the authority to enter into this agreement on their behalf.
