By enrolling in any program, class, or service offered by The Avenue Performance Studio, I acknowledge and agree to the following Terms and Conditions as established by Stewart Tait Pty Ltd, trading as The Avenue Performance Studio (“The Avenue”).
1. ENROLMENT
1.1 For students in Years K–12, enrolment at The Avenue operates on a term basis, in line with NSW school term dates. Students are automatically re-enrolled each term unless notice of withdrawal is provided (see Item 5). An exception applies to Term 1, where classes commence on 19 January, prior to the official start of the NSW school term.
1.2 For preschool students (Ready Set Dance), classes run year-round from 12th January 2026 – 19th December 2026 (see Item 4.6).
1.3 If The Avenue is open on a public holiday, classes will proceed as scheduled and fees will apply as normal. If the studio is closed on a public holiday, or if a family is on holiday and provides prior notice, the family’s account will be adjusted accordingly.
1.4 Enrolment requires a nominated parent/guardian to create an account with Dance Pro, which can be accessed via mobile app or desktop portal. Student and parent information is stored securely and used only for the purposes of enrolment, billing, communication, and legal compliance.
1.5 Student and account details (including fees) are only discussed with the registered accountholder. Secondary parents/guardians can be added via their Dance Pro account.
1.6 By enrolling, parents/guardians agree to be contacted by The Avenue via email, Band, and phone (see Item 2).
1.7 By enrolling, you agree to read and abide by The Avenue’s Terms and Conditions of Enrolment, Parent Code of Conduct, and Student Code of Conduct, which outline the values, behaviours, and expectations of our safe and child-centred community.
2. COMMUNICATION
2.1 Parents/guardians agree to be contacted by The Avenue using the following methods:
Email: For whole-studio communications, newsletters, and important updates.
Band: For class-specific or program-specific communication.
Phone: For urgent matters or time-sensitive queries.
2.2 Queries, feedback, or concerns should be directed to the studio email or phone during business hours Monday–Friday, 9:30-11:30am & 3:30-6pm, Saturday 8-12 The studio will respond as promptly as possible within these hours.
2.3 Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring their contact details are current in their Dance Pro account to receive communications from The Avenue.
3. FEES

4. MISSING CLASSES
4.1 The Avenue does not provide refunds or credits for unattended classes.
4.2 Make-up lessons are available to preschool (Ready Set Dance) students only and are subject to class availability.
4.3 If a class is cancelled by The Avenue and a make-up class is not offered, a credit equal to the class fee will be provided to accountholders.
4.4 Extended absence due to sickness, injury, or surgery (4+ consecutive weeks) requires:
Written notice with medical certificate.
Notification at the time of the incident for consideration of a possible fee waiver.
4.5 Extended holiday absence (4+ consecutive weeks) requires:
Written notice prior to the end of the previous term;
A 50% tuition discount may be offered to hold the child’s place in their classes.
4.6 Ready Set Dance preschool leave:
Six (6) weeks of leave are provided to all accountholders, which can be taken in full or split across the year.
The Avenue requires three (3) weeks’ written notice of any intended leave period.
5. WEATHER / UNFORESEEN CLOSURE
5.1 The Avenue may cancel classes, workshops, or events due to extreme weather, staff unavailability, or other unforeseen circumstances. Families will be notified as soon as possible (typically within a few hours of any change) via email, Band, or Dance Pro.
5.2 Where possible, make-up lessons or account credits may be offered at the studio’s discretion.
5.3 The Avenue is not liable for any loss, inconvenience, or additional costs incurred as a result of such cancellations.
6. CANCELLATIONS AND CLASS CHANGES
6.1 Enrolment at The Avenue is a term-based commitment. Once a term has commenced, no cancellations, refunds, or credits will be issued for missed classes or withdrawal from classes for any reason.
6.2 If a family intends to withdraw enrolment for the following term, a minimum of two (2) weeks’ notice must be provided, which means notifying the office by the end of the current term.
6.3 As the first instalment of the following term’s fees is processed during the school holiday period, families who have not provided notice of withdrawal by the end of term will be automatically re-enrolled and billed as usual, and will remain liable for those fees.
7. ACCOUNT CREDITS
Credits must be used within six (6) months of issue or by 31 December of that calendar year.
8. PRIVATE TUITION (PT)
8.1 To book or discuss PT lessons, please contact The Avenue via email or phone.
8.2 PT may be booked as a:
Standalone lesson: ad hoc / once-off
Solo Performance: predetermined series of lessons for a solo performance item
Term-based lesson: weekly, for the term’s duration
8.3 Payment must be given to the teacher on the day of your lesson: correct cash in a sealed, labelled envelope.
8.4 PT lessons must be paid in full at the time of the lesson. Lessons may be postponed or cancelled if payment is not received.
8.5 PT lessons are non-refundable. In the event of illness or unforeseen circumstances, make-up lessons may be offered at the discretion of the assigned teacher, subject to staff and studio availability.
8.6 For term-based PT lessons, notice must be provided by the end of the current term to discontinue lessons for the following term, allowing sufficient time to offer the spot to a waitlisted student.
8.7 PT is not eligible for discounts or rebates unless advertised.
9. SPECIAL EVENTS (SE)
9.1 Payment for all Special Events (including school holiday workshops, event tickets, or other non-tuition programs) is due in full at the time of booking.
9.2 Bookings may be cancelled by The Avenue if payment is not received.
9.3 Special Event bookings are non-refundable. The only exception is if The Avenue cancels the event, in which case a full refund will be issued.
9.4 Special Event bookings are not eligible for any discounts or rebate schemes offered by The Avenue, unless explicitly advertised.
10. COSTUME LEVY & CONCERT OPT-OUT (END OF YEAR)
10.1 Costume levies are applied per class in which a student is enrolled.
10.2 Levies are charged in two installments: a non-refundable deposit at the beginning of Term 3, and the remaining balance in the September/October school holidays.
10.3 Families may opt out of concerts by providing written notice within the studio-specified period. Failure to do so will result in full costume charges being applied.
10.4 Costume instalments are non-refundable for change of mind after fourteen (14) days from the initial payment due date. If a family changes their mind within the 14-day period, they may request a credit or refund by emailing info@theavenue.net.au within that timeframe.
10.5 Costume prices vary depending on class age group, level, troupe size, and materials used. The Avenue endeavours to keep costs reasonable and sources costumes ethically. Costumes and accessories may be hired or reused wherever possible.
11. MEDICAL AND ILLNESS
11.1 Parents/guardians must fully disclose their child’s medical history, including any conditions, action plans, and required medications, at the time of enrolment.
11.2 Families must promptly notify The Avenue of any new or existing injuries, illnesses, or medical conditions that may affect a student’s participation in classes, rehearsals, or performances. The Avenue may contact parents/guardians for further information where necessary, and may request medical clearance from a qualified practitioner (such as a GP or physiotherapist) before the student resumes participation, depending on the nature and extent of the injury, illness, or condition.
11.3 Qualified First Aid personnel are available to administer care. Parents/guardians may opt out of First Aid provision in writing at the time of enrolment. In the event of a serious incident, The Avenue may seek emergency medical attention if deemed necessary.
11.4 To maintain a safe and healthy environment, unwell children must not attend classes. The Avenue reserves the right to request that a child be collected if they are deemed too unwell to participate safely.
11.5 Students with communicable illnesses, including but not limited to gastroenteritis, conjunctivitis, influenza, or COVID-19, must not attend until symptoms have cleared and any relevant exclusion periods have passed in accordance with public health guidelines.
11.6 Any medication to be administered during class must be provided in its original packaging, clearly labelled with the student’s name, dosage, and instructions. Staff may only administer medication with prior written approval from the parent/guardian and in accordance with the provided instructions.
11.7 Emergency Procedures: In the event of an emergency at the studio (including fire, natural disaster, or other critical incidents), The Avenue staff will take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety and wellbeing of students.
Parents/guardians will be contacted as soon as practicable using the contact details provided in the Dance Pro account.
Students will be directed to a designated safe meeting point as instructed by staff.
It is the responsibility of parents/guardians to ensure their contact information is current so that communication can occur promptly.
12. UNIFORM & GROOMING
Appropriate uniform ensures student safety, allows teachers to monitor correct technique, and fosters a sense of camaraderie among all students.
12.1 Branded studio uniforms are recommended for all classes, and can be purchased via The Avenue’s website or in person at reception. Alternatively, students may wear dancewear in the studio’s club colours (blue, white, and black).
12.2 Students must wear the correct dance shoes for their class style, which can be purchased from local dancewear retailers.
12.3 Jewellery, watches, or other accessories are not permitted unless required for medical reasons, with prior notification to the studio. Long hair must be securely tied back to prevent interference with movement.
12.4 Uniform and grooming standards apply to all classes, rehearsals, workshops, performances, and events where students represent The Avenue. Students may be asked to sit out if wearing unsafe or inappropriate attire.
13. PARKING
13.1 Loftus: the shared driveway is for staff only; there is ample street and council parking available.
13.2 Yarrawarrah: please park in the council carpark available.
14. GENERAL CONDUCT
14.1 Drop-off and pick-up of students must be prompt. If you are running late, please notify the office via email, phone, or the Dance Pro portal so staff can be informed.
14.2 Late pick-up exceeding 15 minutes after the scheduled end of class may incur a fee to compensate staff for additional time.
14.3 Parents/guardians are responsible for the supervision and safety of students before and after class times, unless the child is enrolled in The Avenue’s supervised Walking Service, in which case they are supervised from collection until the commencement of their class.
14.4 Please notify The Avenue in advance of your child’s absence via email, phone, or the Dance Pro portal.
14.5 Studios may not be entered without a teacher or manager present. Parent viewing is permitted only during scheduled times; family members and friends are not allowed inside studios during classes unless prior permission has been granted by the teacher.
14.6 Video recording or photographing of classes is not permitted without explicit studio permission. Please refer to the Parent Code of Conduct and Student Code of Conduct for policies regarding mobile phone use.
14.7 Students should not bring valuables, including iPads, gaming devices, or expensive personal items. Students are responsible for the care of their belongings.
14.8 Waiting rooms, bathrooms, and common areas must be left clean and tidy. Take all rubbish and personal belongings with you, and return shared items to their proper place.
14.9 Students and parents must take reasonable care of studio property, including furniture, decorations, and equipment. The Avenue is not liable for injury, loss, or damage caused by unapproved use of studio property.
14.10 The Avenue is a non-smoking, alcohol-, drug-, and vape-free zone.
14.11 Noise must be kept to a reasonable level so classes are not disrupted. Toddlers and young children must be supervised at all times.
15. PHOTOGRAPHY & MEDIA CONSENT
By enrolling my child, I acknowledge that The Avenue may capture photographs or video of students. I understand that a separate Photography & Media Waiver exists, which I must complete to either provide consent or opt out.
16. CHILD SAFETY
The Avenue is committed to the safety and wellbeing of all students. By enrolling, parents/guardians and students agree to adhere to the studio’s Child Safety Policy. The full policy is available on request and is incorporated by reference into these Terms and Conditions.
17. THE AVENUE RIGHTS
The Avenue reserves the right to:
Modify, amend, or cancel classes, schedules, or programs at its discretion.
Refuse service or ask to leave any student or parent not adhering to policies, Codes of Conduct, or Terms and Conditions, or acting disruptively or dangerously.
Suspend or expel a student or family for bullying, swearing, or any behaviour that breaches these terms or the accompanying Codes, following reasonable attempts at conflict resolution. All fees are required to be paid up until the date of notice in these circumstances.
18. DUTY OF CARE
The Avenue takes all reasonable care in the conduct of its classes and activities to provide a safe and supportive environment for students. While every effort is made to minimise risk, participation in dance and related physical activities involves an inherent risk of injury. The Avenue, its staff and contractors accept no liability for injuries or accidents that occur before, during or after class time.
