Unity Dance Space Policies & Expectations

At Unity Dance Space, we are committed to creating an environment rooted in respect, inclusivity, and growth. These policies are in place to support a positive experience for every dancer and family while allowing our classes and community to run smoothly.

Studio Culture & Expectations
We expect all dancers and families to contribute to a kind, respectful, and supportive studio environment. Dancers should come to class ready to learn, stay engaged, and be respectful of instructors, peers, and the space around them.
Listening when others are speaking, applying corrections, and maintaining focus are all part of being a strong and respectful dancer. Disruptive or unsafe behavior may result in a dancer being asked to sit out or, if necessary, removed from class.
We do not tolerate bullying, exclusion, or inappropriate language from dancers, parents, or guests.

Dress Code & Readiness for Class
Each class has a specific dress code designed for safety, technique, and uniformity. It is the responsibility of both parents and dancers to know and follow the dress requirements for their classes.
Dancers should arrive fully prepared with proper attire, correct shoes, and hair secured away from the face. If a dancer is not dressed appropriately, they may be asked to observe rather than participate.

To help maintain a clean and focused environment:
- Dance shoes should not be worn outside
- Food, gum, and drinks (other than water) are not allowed in studios
- Personal items like phones should remain put away during class
- Dancers should take care of personal needs, like using the restroom, before class begins

Attendance & Commitment
Consistency is key to growth. Regular attendance allows dancers to build skills, confidence, and teamwork.
If your dancer will be absent, please communicate with the studio ahead of time.
Beginning February 1, classes transition into recital preparation. Because choreography builds week to week, attendance during this time is especially important. Dancers are allowed a limited number of excused absences, and additional support (such as private lessons) may be required if too much material is missed.
Final classes leading up to the recital are considered mandatory rehearsals.

Arrival, Pick-Up & Supervision
Parents/guardians are responsible for dancers outside of their scheduled class time. Dancers under age 6 must be walked into and out of the building.
Please avoid early drop-offs or late pick-ups. Dancers should remain inside the studio while waiting for their ride.

Shared Spaces (Lobby/Break Area)
Our lobby is a shared, unsupervised space. Dancers are expected to clean up after themselves, be respectful of others, and keep noise levels appropriate.
Food and drinks may be stored or heated, but all items must be taken home daily. Please note that we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.

Health & Safety
If a dancer is feeling unwell or has had a fever within the past 24 hours, they should not attend class. Dancers recovering from illness or injury may be asked to observe.
Dance is a physical activity, and participation involves inherent risk. Families are responsible for ensuring dancers are healthy and able to participate.
Instructors may use hands-on guidance when appropriate to support proper technique. These interactions are always done respectfully and professionally. If you have preferences regarding this, please communicate with us in writing.

Communication
Clear communication helps everything run smoothly. Our primary communication platform is the BAND app, and families are expected to stay connected and check updates regularly.
We use this platform to share:
- Schedule updates or closures
- Recital information and important dates
- Studio announcements and reminders
*Email and social media may also be used when needed.*

Tuition & Payments
All accounts are enrolled in autopay. Tuition is non-refundable and not adjusted for absences, holidays, or unexpected closures.
Monthly tuition is divided into equal payments and processed on the 1st of each month. Late payments may incur fees, and accounts must remain current for dancers to continue participating.
Additional recital-related fees will be applied throughout the season.

Class Placement & Scheduling
Class placement is determined by our staff based on a dancer’s age, ability, and overall fit. We reserve the right to adjust placements, schedules, or instructors when necessary.
Classes with low enrollment may be modified, combined, or canceled.

Missed Classes & Additional Support
If a class is missed, dancers may attend an approved make-up class within the same session. Please contact us in advance to arrange this.
Private lessons are also available for dancers looking for additional support or growth opportunities.

Withdrawal Policy
If you choose to withdraw, notice must be submitted in writing via email. Withdrawals after the designated deadline will incur a fee.

Observation Guidelines
To maintain focus in the classroom, only dancers and staff are permitted inside studio spaces. Families may observe through designated viewing areas but should avoid distracting dancers.

Lost Items
Please label all belongings. Items left behind will be placed in Lost & Found and periodically cleared out.

Substance-Free Environment
Unity Dance Space is a substance-free environment. The use of drugs, alcohol, smoking, or vaping at any studio-related activity is strictly prohibited and may result in dismissal.

Our Studio Philosophy
At Unity Dance Space, we believe dance is for everybody and every body. We prioritize growth over perfection, confidence over comparison, and community over competition.
We ask every dancer and family to help us protect and uplift that environment.

In consideration of my child being permitted to participate in dance, movement, classes, rehearsals, performances, events, and related activities organized by Unity Dance Space, LLC (“UDS”), and/or to use UDS facilities, I, as the parent/legal guardian of the minor child listed below, agree to the following:
1. Agreement To Follow Directions: I agree for my child to observe and obey all posted rules and warnings, and further agree to follow any oral instructions or directions given by Unity Dance Space, LLC, its owners, members, managers, employees, instructors, independent contractors, volunteers, representatives, agents, successors, and assigns.
2. Assumption of the Risks and Release: I understand that participation in dance, tumbling, stretching, conditioning, rehearsals, performances, and related activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, trips, falls, collisions with other dancers or objects, muscle strains, sprains, bruises, broken bones, overuse injuries, dizziness, fatigue, and other injuries that may occur during movement-based activity. I understand and agree that, to the fullest extent permitted by Colorado law, I release, waive, and discharge Unity Dance Space, LLC, its owners, members, managers, employees, instructors, independent contractors, volunteers, representatives, agents, successors, and assigns from any and all claims arising from ordinary negligence related to my child’s participation in dance activities or presence at UDS facilities.
3. Indemnification: I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless UDS, its owners, members, managers, employees, instructors, independent contractors, volunteers, representatives, and agents from and against any claims, damages, costs, expenses, or attorney fees arising out of my child’s negligent, reckless, or willful conduct, violation of UDS rules, or damage to UDS property, except to the extent prohibited by Colorado law.
4. Property Damage: I agree to pay for any damage to UDS facilities, equipment, or property caused by my child’s negligent, reckless, or willful actions.
5. Consent: I consent to the participation of my child in the activity of dance and movement, and agree on behalf of my child to all of the terms and conditions of this agreement. By signing this Release of Liability, I represent that I have legal authority over and custody of said child.
6. Medical Authorization: I agree to provide accurate and current emergency contact, allergy, medical, and health information for my child and to update UDS promptly of any changes. In the event of an injury to my child during the above-described activities, Unity Dance Space, LLC, its owners, members, managers, employees, instructors, independent contractors, volunteers, representatives, agents, successors, and assigns will notify the emergency contact on file immediately. If the emergency contact is unreachable, I hereby give Unity Dance Space, LLC, its owners, members, managers, employees, instructors, independent contractors, volunteers, representatives, agents, successors, and assigns the authority to contact emergency medical services, and/or arrange transportation to a medical facility if deemed necessary, for which I shall be financially responsible, including the following:
a. The power to seek appropriate medical treatment or attention on behalf of my child as may be required by the circumstances, including without limitation, that of a licensed medical physician and/or a hospital; and
b. The power to authorize medical treatment or medical procedures in an emergency.
7. Applicable Law: Any legal or equitable claim that may arise from participation in the above shall be resolved under Colorado law.
8. No Duress: I acknowledge that I have had the opportunity to review this agreement, ask questions, and consult legal counsel if I choose. I am signing voluntarily and understand that participation may be denied if this agreement is not signed.

I, the parent/legal guardian of the minor child registered with Unity Dance Space, LLC (“UDS”), give UDS, its owners, employees, instructors, representatives, and agents permission to photograph, video record, and/or otherwise capture my child’s image, likeness, voice, and/or performance while participating in UDS classes, rehearsals, performances, events, and activities.

I authorize UDS to use, reproduce, publish, display, and share these photographs, videos, recordings, and/or likenesses for advertising, marketing, promotional, educational, and studio-related purposes, including but not limited to UDS’s website, social media accounts, email communications, printed materials, flyers, posters, advertisements, and other promotional materials.

I understand that my child’s image, likeness, voice, or performance may appear in group or individual photos/videos and may be shared publicly online. I understand that I will not receive compensation, royalties, or payment for the use of these images, videos, or recordings.

UDS will not intentionally publish my child’s full name with their image without additional written permission from a parent/legal guardian.

I understand that I may revoke this permission in writing at any time by contacting UDS. Revocation will apply only to future use and will not require UDS to remove materials already printed, published, posted, or distributed before the written revocation was received.

By electronically signing this Photo & Video Release, I confirm that I am the parent/legal guardian of the child registered with UDS, that I have the legal authority to grant this permission, and that my electronic signature has the same legal effect as a handwritten signature.
