KEM’S GYM & DANCE, LLC
PARENT STUDENT STUDIO POLICY AGREEMENT
For safety and professionalism: we can’t correct what we can’t see.
STUDENT ATTITUDE
____ We would like students to come to class with a teachable attitude and be excited about learning. Also, students must be respectable to coaches and please follow directions.
FEES
PLEASE include your child’s name on the check memo line for ALL checks to ensure you account is updated properly.
____ Tuition needs to be paid on time, 1st of the month, with a late fee of $10 being added on the 15th. I understand that I am responsible to attend each class and in the case that I cannot attend, I understand that I can make up the class with another similar class so long as I notify the coaches ahead of time. Any unused classes can be taken up 4 months after the date of the missed class.
The first month/enrollment fee, as well as a card and waivers much be complete before my child will be accepted in class.
___ Drop Policy. I understand that I am enrolled and responsible for payment until the end of May unless I notify Kems Gym in writing, either through FB Message or a Drop Card through the store. If I drop a class after the month has been billed, I am still responsible for those classes.
____Recital. I understand that participating in the recital is an additional cost, including a recital fee (add to the April tuition) and, as Costume/Props are not tuition, it needs to be paid to Applause Apparel before student will receive them. Recital participation is optional and not required to still participate and receive the same level of attention in class.
DRESS CODE
____ All students must follow our dress code. I have read the dress code brochure, understand what I need to wear and will follow it. I also understand consistency not following it will result in my child being allowed to participate in class. This essential to safety and proper form.
This includes always having hair secured up and away from the face, as well as wearing tight leotards and tights or booty tops/leggings and tank/bra top, as appropriate for the class. If I am not wearing the proper clothing, I may be asked to wear something from the "borrow" drawer or sit out. Parents will also be contacted on each offense. It is a safety issue for students to be dressed properly.
_____ Certain dance classes do have a uniform they need to purchase. This is to help the student get into the proper mindset required for class. A bundle for class includes leotard, tights and shoes, sold at a discount for the benefit of both teacher and student.
PERSONAL PROPERTY
All personal property (shoes, water bottles, etc) should be kept in the “cubbies” in the back break room.
Cell phones should be left at home. If you bring one, put it in the white cabinet for safe keeping. Ask a coach to help you. We are not responsible for lost phones.
Personal items left at the gym will be placed in the Lost and Found. The Lost and Found will be thrown out at the end of each summer.
PICK UP TIME
Please be on time to pick up your student. Most classes are one hour. We never leave a student by themselves. If you are over 15 min late, a small fee will be charged to pay the coach for their time to wait with them.
FOOD*SNACKS
No food is allowed in the gym/studio/balcony. Crumbs encourage bugs and rodents. Water is always welcomed in a covered container. Snacks can be enjoyed int the back room. Always clean up your left over “mess.” Put all trash away. GUM IS NEVER ALLOWED!
FEEDBACK AND PARENT VISITATION
____ If you have a concern, we will visit at almost any time OUTSIDE of scheduled classes. If we are teaching, please do not interrupt the class unless it is an emergency. We will happily schedule a time to meet with you. If you would call or leave us FB Message.
The balcony is for parent viewing. Please no coaching or yelling directions. Students need to pay full attention to their coach. There should not be two authority figures in the gym. Discuss any concerns later with your child and, if needed, schedule a time to speak with a coach if classes are ongoing.
Parents are allowed in the dance studio for the first few weeks of class ONLY. Once younger students have time to adjust, please sit in the dance lobby or gymnastics viewing balcony, as it can offer up too many distractions. Any parents sitting in the dance studio need to remain quiet with cell phones on silent. Viewer’s chitchat can distract classes as well. Instructors may ask you to leave if you become a distraction.
Please do not sit on the gym floor unless unable to climb stairs, and only at the back of the gym.

I have read this Agreement and will go over the rules with my student.
