Injury Policy 1. Injury and Medical Clearance 1.1. Notification of Injury: In the event that a student (hereinafter referred to as "Dancer") sustains an injury that requires medical attention and/or prolonged absence from dance classes and practices, the Dancer or their parent/guardian must notify the Dance Studio (hereinafter referred to as "Studio") as soon as possible. 1.2. Medical Clearance: Prior to resuming participation in any dance classes or activities, the Dancer must provide written clearance from a licensed healthcare provider (hereinafter referred to as "Doctor"). The clearance must confirm that the Dancer is fit to return to dance at full capacity and detail any restrictions or recommendations for the Dancer's return. 2. Skill Assessment and Re-Integration 2.1. Assessment upon Return: Upon receiving medical clearance, the Studio will conduct a skill assessment of the Dancer to evaluate their current skill level relative to their pre-injury status. This assessment will be conducted within 72 hours of the Dancer's return to the Studio. 2.2. ReIntegration Plan: Based on the results of the skill assessment, the Studio will develop a reintegration plan tailored to the Dancer’s needs. This plan may include additional training sessions, modified routines, and/or other adjustments to help the Dancer regain their prior level of skill and performance. 2.3. Placement in Routines: The Dancer’s reintegration into competitive routines will be determined based on their skill assessment and progress as outlined in the Reintegration Plan. The Studio reserves the right to make final decisions regarding the Dancer's placement in routines and competitive events. 2.4. Time Frame for ReIntegration: The Studio will make reasonable efforts to facilitate the Dancer's return to competitive routines within a week of their assessment. However, the Studio cannot guarantee placement into routines or competitions if the Dancer is not able to meet the required skill levels or if it is in the best interest of the Dancer and/or the team for the Dancer to remain out. 3. Acknowledgment and Agreement 3.1. Acknowledgement: By enrolling in the Studio, the Dancer and their parent/guardian acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Injury and Absence Policy. 3.2. Modification of Policy: The Studio reserves the right to modify this policy at any time. Any such modifications will be communicated to the Dancer and their parent/guardian in writing.
