NOVA DANCE ACADEMY RULES & ETIQUETTE
1. Arrival and Warm-Up:
- Students must sign in upon arrival, wash their hands, run laps, and begin stretching in their assigned spots.
2. Restroom Use:
- Use the restroom before class begins. Water and bathroom breaks will be provided at the instructor’s discretion. Leaving during class is discouraged as it is disruptive to the instructor and other students.
3. No Drama Policy:
- Horseplay, bullying, and gossiping are strictly forbidden. Nova Dance Academy is a safe space that requires respect from all dancers, parents, instructors, and staff members.
- Violations may result in being asked to leave or possible disenrollment without a refund.
4. Class Conduct:
- Excessive talking during class is not allowed. Students may ask dance-related questions as needed.
- Disruptive students may be dismissed from the class and released to a parent/guardian.
5. Cellphone Policy:
- Cellphone use is strictly prohibited during class. Phones must remain silenced and stored in dance bags or cubbies.
- First violations will result in confiscation until the end of class. Repeated violations may result in disciplinary action or program removal without refund.
- In emergencies, parents may contact the instructor directly.
6. Food and Gum:
- Chewing gum, food, and drinks (except water) are not allowed in the studio.
7. Studio Respect:
- Do not disrupt a class or private session in progress. If waiting for the next class, remain in the parking lot until the doors are opened.
8. Parent Guidelines:
- Parents are not permitted in the classroom unless given prior permission by the instructor. Parents may enter during the last 10 minutes of class.
- Recording devices are prohibited during class.
9. Sibling Supervision:
- Parents must supervise all accompanying siblings. Unsupervised children and unauthorized visitors (friends or family) are not permitted during class.

DRESS CODE
Students are required to attend class in the proper dance uniform.
1. Approved Dance Attire:
- Unitards, leotards, tights, leggings, sweatpants, cotton shorts, tank tops, camisoles, t-shirts, ballet shoes, jazz shoes.
- Direct questions about attire to the instructor.
2. Unacceptable Attire:
- No jeans or jogger pants.
- No sweaters, jackets, or outdoor attire.
3. Jewelry:
- Jewelry, including earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets, watches, or body jewelry, is not allowed to prevent injury or loss.
4. Footwear:
- Street shoes are not allowed. Only clean sneakers, ballet shoes, jazz shoes, or tap shoes are acceptable.
5. Hair:
- Hair must be tied back and kept away from the face.

ATTENDANCE
1. Punctuality:
- Students must arrive on time to benefit fully from the class.
- Late arrivals up to 10 minutes will be admitted. Arrivals 10–20 minutes late may be asked to sit and observe.
2. Attendance Requirement:
- 90% attendance is mandatory for all classes and rehearsals to be eligible for performances or competitions.
- Attendance is required during the week of any performance or competition.
3. Performance Eligibility:
- Dancers failing to meet attendance requirements may be removed from performances or competitions. The academy reserves the right to add or dismiss dancers at the Director's discretion.
4. Medical Exceptions:
- Students with medical conditions must submit a completed medical release form with doctor approval to participate in competitive or community events.

VIOLATIONS & ENFORCEMENT
- Violations of rules will result in the following disciplinary process:
1. A meeting and verbal warning.
2. Suspension from classes.
3. Termination from the program.
- No refunds will be issued in the event of dismissal due to violations.
