Miss Britt's Academy of Dance and the Arts, LLC. 2025-2026 Studio Policies
By enrolling at Miss Britt's Academy of Dance you agree to the following:
NOTIFICATION OF PERSONAL RISK:
Dance is a physical art. Every precaution is taken to avoid and prevent injury; However, dancers and parents/guardians must be aware of the inherent risks or bodily injury or illness that can result from dance and must sign the Liability Release Waiver.
ATTENDANCE:
Attendance is taken at each class. We encourage good attendance at the recreational level.
Classes meet an average of 4 weeks/lessons per class per month. If a dancer misses more than 2 lessons in one calendar month, they must sign up for a paid makeup lesson with the class instructor in order to catch up with the rest of the class. Parents/guardians should report absences through the Online Portal or App. Competition students have a separate absence policy (included in their competition contract).
CODE OF CONDUCT:
Students are expected to be on their best behavior at all times. We are have no drama policy which applies to both dancers and parents. Miss Britt's Academy of Dance has the right to dismiss students at any time if they or their parent/guardian does not adhere to this policy. Dancers must treat all staff, faculty, and peers with respect and a positive attitude. Dancers and parents/guardians must also respect all other dance studios both at the studio, at competition, and outside the studio. Parents and dancers alike must adhere to all rules including dress code, timely payments and managing due dates, mandatory dress rehearsal, competitions, recitals, and other performances and keeping yourself informed on studio happenings.
While students are waiting for class, they need to be respectful of the classes going on. Please be respectful - there should be no shouting, running, or rough-housing!
CARE FOR STUDENTS:
The studio is not responsible for providing before or after class care for students. The studio will open 10 minutes prior to the start of the first class of the night.
Drop-off: If you are dropping your dancer off, please do not drop them off any earlier than 5 minutes before their class. If you are waiting with your dancer in the waiting room before class, you are welcome to come early and wait together.
Pick-up: Dancers under 12 need to be picked up in the waiting room. Dancers should behave appropriately in the waiting room or hallway at all times and will not be directly supervised. If someone other than a parent/guardian will be picking up a child under 12, the studio needs to be notified ahead of time or we may not release your child.
DANCE CLASS ATTIRE:
Please make every effort to have your child in the proper dance wear for each and every class in order to ensure the safety and the overall well-being of the student's dance education. This includes hair tied back into a pony tail, bun, or braids. See our dance wear handout for your dancer's specific dress code. Uniformity promotes a team environment.
Our dress code can be found in your 2026-2027 handbook.
SNOW OR INCLEMENT WEATHER:
In the event of weather cancellations or otherwise, Miss Britt's will post any cancellations on the website and on all social media. A blast email will be sent out. You can also opt-in to our text message alert system. Standard text message and data rates do apply. Because of the way the calendar weeks fall, two cancellation days per class are already built-in to the cost of tuition. Should a class be cancelled more than twice due to weather or any other cancellation by the studio, the class will be offered a make-up option or refund.
HOLIDAYS:
Holiday closures will be posted and included in newsletters, email reminders and on our website.
TUITION:
Tuition payments for a certain month will be collected the month before. Tuition payments for the month of September are due by August 25th. If your payment is not paid by the 1st of the month, you will be charged a $15 late fee each week you are late. If your tuition is not paid by the first of the month, your dancer will not able to participate in class. Your account must be brought up-to-date before dancer may participate again. Tuition and fees are nonrefundable. You do not get credited if your dancer misses a class. Returned checks are subject to a $20 fee. Tuition is based on a monthly schedule no matter how many weeks are in that month. If you have not paid for the month, your dancer will have to sit out of dance.
Payments can be made in the studio by cash, card or check made payable to Miss Britt's Academy of Dance and the Arts. You can also pay online through our Online Portal or by an automated checking withdrawal.
RUNNING ACCOUNT BALANCE
If you have any balance on your account, payment made will always be applied to the oldest past due balance. For example, if you owe $30 from January tuition and in February you want to pay for costumes, any monies paid will be applied to the January past due balance before funds can be allocated to costumes.
AUTO-DRAFT:
Auto-draft is an easy way to pay all your fees. Auto-draft requires you to link your checking account to your online portal (the studio can never see your bank information) and any payments due will be automatically withdrawn on the respective due date.
PRESCHOOLERS & DANCERS WHO NEED RESTROOM ASSISTANCE:
In order for your child to participate in the Preschool Combo Class, at least one parent or guardian MUST be present during the entirety of the class. We ask that parents stay in the waiting room during the class in case your child needs to use the restroom (as we cannot take them into the restroom ourselves) or if you need to be consulted at any time during the class.
WITHDRAWAL FROM THE STUDIO:
Withdrawal from the Studio: Should dancers choose to cease enrollment at Miss Britt's Academy of Dance and the Arts, LLC., that month's tuition will not be refunded regardless of how many lessons they attended throughout that month. For example, if you paid November tuition due October 25th and your dancer withdraws from the studio on October 26th, you will not be refunded November tuition. If withdrawing from the studio, we ask that parents please formally notify us rather than just stop coming to class. Also, should you be dismissed from the studio, the same non-refund rules apply.
RECITAL:
A recital will be held at the end of each regular season. Dates of this event will be advertised at a later date. When it gets closer to recital time, an entire newsletter devoted strictly to the recital will be handed out. The recital is our chance to show family and friends what your dancers have been working on all year long! All students (save for our Adult Classes) participate in the recital and each class (save for competition technique and petite ballet (berlin), and junior/teen ballet (litchfield)) learns one dance for recital with one costume (purchase) per dance. Accounts with outstanding balances will not be allowed to participate in our recital until the account is brought up to date.
COSTUME FEES: Recital costume fees are paid in three installments in October, November and February are non-refundable. This includes dropped classes and/or withdrawing from the studio completely. If costume payment is not made on time, costumes will not be ordered for the dancer. Parent/guardian will then be responsible for any additional payments to get the costume delivered in time including rush shipping or any extra fees.
