Our Policies
Payment Policy
Payment for tuition is due upon enrollment and subsequently the 1st of every month for the month of enrollment. Monthly payments are installments for annual tuition. No refunds will be given for students not in attendance or cancellation after autopay has charged. No classes will be prorated for missing.
Late Payment
Payments need to be received in a timely manner in order for the student(s) to continue participating in class. If balance is outstanding by the 10th, the student(s) will be asked to sit out during class. Failure to pay will result in losing placement in class. Late fee is $15 and will be added to balance on the 11th.
Cancellation of Classes by RDC
If a class is canceled due to low enrollment, accommodations will be made by Roots Dance Center to place student(s) appropriately or offer refund/credit.
Cancellation of Monthly Installments
A 30 day written notice via email must be given if a student wishes to cease attending lessons. Fees will still be applied even if the student is unable to attend class, unless a 30 day written day notice is given. Refunds will not be given for partial months of participation. A student may pause monthly installments for serious medical purposes (a Doctor’s note may be required).
Attendance Policy
Students are expected to meet a minimum of 80% attendance in each class. Please contact the studio if your child will be missing class. A class may be made up in a similar style class within two weeks of absence, but no refunds will be given for missed classes. Students who do not meet this expectation, or who miss several classes during recital choreography, may be removed from a section of choreography. Competition dancers- see competition contract.
Attire Policy
Dancers are required to be in approved attire for class. Dancers need to have hair back securely, the correct footwear, and no loose jewelry (no necklaces, bracelets, dangling earrings). Dancers will receive one warning to be in appropriate attire and then will be asked to sit out after that.

Roots Dance Center Anti-Bullying and Acceptance Policy
At RDC, we are an all abilities dance studio. We will not tolerate any bullying or discrimination of any kind to any of our students or staff. Immediate removal may be enforced without refund.
Appropriate Physical Contact Policy
Teaching dance is a physical activity and appropriate physical contact between teacher and student is paramount to proper training. RDC recognizes that such contact is a complex area and fully recognizes the responsibilities to safeguard the students and teachers. All physical contact will be made with sensitivity and care tailored to the individual student’s wishes. Teachers will not force movement and will focus on teaching proper muscle initiation.
Etiquette
Dancers need to wear appropriate dance wear to participate in class. Dancers need to wear a leotard/unitard/crop top, and leggings, bike shorts, tights or shorts with lining. Dancers must wear the appropriate footwear for each class.
Hair needs to be secured off of the face and no large jewelry should be worn. Dancers may not chew gum or eat in class. Students are required to be polite to their peers as well as the Roots Dance Center staff. Talking during class should be productive for class and not disruptive. If a dancer is continuously disruptive or disrespectful, they may be asked to leave. Parents/Guardians are expected to follow the same behavioral guidelines with staff and other students.
