CODE OF CONDUCT

Dance classes have their own set of rules and manners in order to preserve the long history of discipline in dance and show respect to the dance professionals who lead the classes. Our goal is to create an environment where students feel both nurtured and challenged. At the same time, our instructors maintain appropriate order, safety and discipline to ensure a safe, positive and educational environment. Coupé Dance & Co. reserves the right to refuse admittance to any person who jeopardizes our ability to provide such an atmosphere. Disrespectful or disruptive behaviour or language in class and in our studio facility is not appropriate and will not be tolerated.

Coupé Dance. Co. strives to maintain a positive learning environment for all students. Please be courteous in your dealings with our teachers, reception personnel and other dance families. Parents displaying disrespectful or inflammatory behaviour or conduct will be asked to leave the school and such behaviour may result in the discharge of their child from the class and Coupé Dance & Co.s programs.

Bullying, harassment and intimidation of fellow dancers will not be tolerated. Any such behaviour on the part of a student may result in dismissal from the class and ultimately in suspension from the school.

THE SCHOOL RESPECTFULLY REQUESTS THE FOLLOWING:
- Students are required to display a courteous manner at all times and comply with the rules of the school.
- Students are to conduct themselves in a manner that does not interfere with others use and enjoyment of the facilities. This includes students keeping their hands and feet to self unless instructed by a teacher to use them during a group exercise.
- Students are to arrive on time to class and rehearsal.
- Students are to arrive fully groomed - hair must be up and out of face.
- Students arrive with the proper class dress code.
- Students or parents inform reception beforehand if they will be late or absent.
- Disruptive classroom conduct, chronic tardiness and inappropriate behaviour or appearance may result in dismissal from class.
- Students must respect all studio equipment (no leaning on barres, mirrors or walls and no touching of sound/stereo system).
- No electronic devices are allowed to be brought into the dance rooms (cell phone, iPods, MP3 players) - please leave these items in the lobby cubbies or at home. Coupé Dance & Co. is not to be held responsible for lost or stolen articles.

LIABILITY WAIVER

I recognize and understand the risks of physical injury inherent to dance and dance training and I fully assume those risks. I hereby release Coupé Dance & Co., event sponsors, and dance teachers from all liability for injuries sustained or illnesses contracted while attending or participating in any dance classes, rehearsals, or performances. I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Coupé Dance & Co., and dance teachers for liabilities, costs, and judgements arising from acts of omissions committed by me or my child which result in injury or damage to any person or property.

I further state that I am at least eighteen (18) years of age and am fully competent to sign this agreement; and that I execute this release for full, adequate, and complete consideration fully intending to be bound by the same. I further state that there are no health-related reasons or problems which preclude or restrict my or my child's participation in this activity, and that I will pay any medical costs that may be attendant as a result of injury to me or my child.

MEDICAL ATTENTION

In case of physical injury or medical emergency, I hereby authorize Coupé Dance & Co. to make necessary arrangements to transport myself or my child to a medical treatment facility as necessary. All such transportation and medical treatment will be at my sole cost and expense. In extreme emergency, or if my child is under 18 years of age, I understand that Coupé Dance & Co. will attempt to notify the person(s) listed as my emergency contact(s) of my condition and how to reach me.

Online through our Parent Portal with PayPal (4.25% Processing Fee active June 2 2024)


2025/26 Season

Registration Fee: There is a registration fee charged to each family at the start of each yearly season ($60/dancer or $90/family + GST). Registration Fees are due at time of registration. Registration fees are non-refundable, no exceptions.

Tuition Fees: Upcoming Tuitions Fees will be posted monthly to your online parent portal account by the 20th of the previous month. Fees are due on the 1st of the corresponding month.
For Example: October fees will be posted by September 20th. October fees are due on October 1st.
*Ages 5 and under: May opt out of a full month in advance if the office is notified by email by the 20th of the previous month (coupedanceandco@gmail.com). Your spot in class is not guaranteed for following months if you opt out of class, as it will go to the next dancer on our waiting lists.*

Winter Costume Rental Fee: There is a Winter Costume Rental Fee of $30 (GST included)/recreational class (Due November 1)
*These costumes will be borrowed and returned to the studio.*

Spring Costume Fee: There is a Spring Costume Fee of $80 + GST/recreational class (Due March 1)
*These costumes will be ordered for the students, and students will keep the costumes after the recitals.*

Late Fees: There is a 15% late fee on all unpaid balances, charged the day after fees are due.

Drop Class: A request to withdraw from any class must be received, in writing, no later than October 2nd, 2025. Failure to do so will result in the family being liable for paying the year's tuition fees in full. The exception to this policy is serious illness or injury in which a doctor states the dancer must stop dancing. A note from the doctor is required.

In the case of a withdrawal, in which the costume has already been ordered, the family is responsible for all fees associated with the costume. Once the costume arrives, the family will be given the unaltered costume.

Attendance: I understand that attendance of each class is expected. Should my child miss more than 4 classes I understand that they can be removed from some or all of the performance choreography.

Please Note: Students will not be able to participate in classes or performances until their tuition is paid, and their waivers are signed. No exceptions.

Cancellation: All Fees are non-refundable except for medical reason with a Doctor's Letter. Please note that all classes and camps may be cancelled in advance if there are fewer than 3 students registered. In this case, you will receive a refund, or a credit towards your next payment.

Closures: In the event of an unforeseen, extended, closure of the studio, Coupé Dance & Co. commits to quickly, and securely, setting up virtual classes for dancers to attend. Dancers commit to regularly attending the classes they are registered for. Teachers will continue to provide choreography material, and skill development, during this closure with the final outcome being a return to the studio, and participation in our scheduled recitals. Tuition will not be discounted, or discontinued during such closures, as all classes will be offered. Coupé Dance & Co. commits to returning to in-studio classes as soon as we are able.



Summer Classes & Camps:

No Registration fee for Summer Session or Camps

Dance Camps: Fees are due online upon registration for Spring & Summer Camps, or can be brought to the office in the form of cash or a cheque in an envelop with the students name clearly labeled. Your spot in camps is not confirmed until we receive payment in full.

Summer Open Classes: Fees are due online upon registration for Summer Classes, or can be brought to the office in the form of cash or a cheque in an envelop with the students name clearly labeled. Your spot in class is not confirmed until we receive payment in full.

PHOTO RELEASE

Coupé Dance & Co. reserves the right to use photographs and videos taken during classes, rehearsals, performances, or other affiliated events for the purposes of instruction, advertising and promoting Coupé Dance & Co. and its programs. Students, or parents of students who are minors, who do not wish to comply with this policy must notify Coupé Dance & Co. prior to participation in class.

PROTECTION OF PROPERTY

I understand and agree that it is my sole responsibility to safeguard my personal property while attending or participating in any classes, rehearsals, or performances. I hereby release Coupé Dance & Co., its affiliate dance studios, event sponsors, and dance teachers from all liability for loss or damage to my personal property while attending or participating in classes, rehearsals, or performances. I also agree to abide by any rules, regulations and policies set forth by Coupé Dance & Co.
