Membership Fees & Deposits
Progressive Program - A one-time Membership Fee of $100 applies to all new students enrolling in our 12-month program.
Mini Sessions - A $25 Registration Fee is included in the total session cost and charged at the time of enrollment.
Tuition
Progressive Program - Tuition is automatically debited on the 1st business day of each month and considered late after the 10th.
A $25 late fee applies to any outstanding balance after the 10th. Tuition is a flat monthly rate and remains the same regardless of holidays, studio closings, or the number of weeks in a month. Tuition is non-refundable. Any balance greater than $0.00 will be charged on the 1st of the month. If your account shows a credit, your card will not be charged.
Mini Sessions - Tuition is due in full on or before the first class of each Mini Session.
Costume Fees
A 50% deposit is charged in the fall, with the remaining balance due in January. Costume fees are non-refundable, regardless of withdrawal or participation. If a dancer withdraws before costumes are ordered or distributed, the costume and associated fees are forfeited. Tights are included when required; shoes are not. Costumes are ordered using professional sizing charts with allowances for growth; alterations are the parent’s responsibility. Costume fees do not apply to Mini Session or technique-only classes (please check the waiver box to acknowledge this).
Performance Fee
A $175 Performance Fee per student is posted on February 15th and automatically debited on March 1st.
This fee is non-refundable and includes a recital T-shirt, dancer stage time, video links, memory program, trophy, and other recital-related expenses. The fee does not apply to Mini Session or technique-only dancers (please check the waiver box to acknowledge this).
Summer Camps, Parties, & Parent Night Out (PNO)
Full payment is due at registration to secure your spot. All fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Admission & Placement
DAW offers a 12-month Progressive Program for ages 3–18, divided by grade and ability. The director determines final placement and may adjust levels during the year to best support each dancer’s growth. Classes with fewer than five students may be canceled; dancers will be transferred to a similar class when possible. DAW is committed to an inclusive environment and does not discriminate based on race, color, religion, gender, age, national origin, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status.
Parent Observation
Weekly observation is limited to students under the age of six. Parent Appreciation Weeks will be announced throughout the year, allowing up to two guests per dancer. Parents should not interrupt or approach instructors during or between classes.
Drop-Off & Pick-Up
Dancers may arrive or be picked up no more than 5 minutes before or after class. Extended drop-off or pick-up will incur a $5 per minute late fee.
Withdrawal Procedures
Notice of withdrawal must be submitted via email by the 15th of the month to avoid being charged for the following month.
The Withdrawal Form is available on our website under “Important Info” → “Policies.” Returning students who previously withdrew will be charged a $100 re-enrollment fee. Competition team dancers are responsible for all contractual fees through the end of the season. Dancers withdrawn mid-season forfeit their spot; re-enrollment will incur the Membership Fee again. All tuition, costume, and performance fees are non-refundable, and costumes not yet distributed will be forfeited.
Summer Production
All Progressive Program dancers participate in our annual Summer Production, which offers a professional stage experience.
Attendance is required. The production is a ticketed event, and all audience members, including parents, must have a ticket.
Performances typically sell out; it is each family’s responsibility to stay informed. Mini Session and technique-only dancers do not participate in the summer production.
Sibling Discount
Families with two or more enrolled dancers receive a 10% discount on total monthly tuition. This applies only to siblings (not cousins or friends). The sibling discount cannot be combined with other discounts.
Studio Closings & Make-Up Classes
Tuition is not prorated for holidays, weather closings, or absences. No make-up classes will be held for the following breaks: Labor Day, Fall Break, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Winter Break, Spring Break, or Memorial Day. If local schools close due to inclement weather or other emergencies, the studio will also close. Students may schedule up to four make-up classes per season (available before March 1).
Attendance
Consistent attendance is vital for dancer progress and class unity. Excessive absences may result in removal from part or all of a recital routine; related fees remain non-refundable.
Dress Code
All dancers must follow the studio dress code and wear a cover-up when entering or leaving the building. Dance shoes are not to be worn outside. Camp students should wear comfortable, clean-soled shoes.
Student & Parent Conduct
Questions or concerns should be emailed to info@danceacademywest.com. Parents may not speak with instructors during class transitions. Negative comments, gossip, or rumors will not be tolerated among parents or students.
Waiver of Liability
Participation in dance classes involves inherent risks, including physical injury or exposure to illness.
By enrolling, you acknowledge and accept all risks, agreeing to hold Dance Academy West, its owners, staff, and affiliates harmless from any claims, injuries, or damages. You also grant permission for DAW to use photos or videos of your dancer for promotional purposes. A full copy of the studio’s complete liability waiver and release is available upon request. It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to request and review this document if they wish to see it prior to enrollment or participation.
