Established in 2017, Eight Count Dance Company accepts students from beginner to the pre- professional level. We offer many different styles of dance for the recreational dancer and competitive dancer, ages eighteen months through adult. Our dedicated staff is highly trained not only in their dance specialties, but also to work with children of all ages. We use modern techniques to always provide the safest and best training. At ECDC, we believe that dance is an athletic art from that sharpens the student mentally, physically, and artistically. We share our passion for dance as a means for creative expression and life-long wellness.

Tuition
1. Each family remunerates a $30 registration fee annually. Registration fees and tuition are non- refundable. The same rules apply to dancers who register then drop at any time: fees will not be reimbursed.
2. Tuition prices are due monthly, and remain the same each month despite holidays, days off, and the dancer’s attendance.
3. Tuition is due on or before the 5th of each month.
4. Each dance family is required to sign up for automatic payments through the parent portal. No exceptions.
5. Accounts with fees that cannot be processed will incur a $20 late fee.
6. All tuition must be paid by May 5th, 2026, to be able to perform in recital.
7. Tuition is charged on a month-to-month basis. However, after January 1st, if a dancer chooses to withdrawal from classes, parents will still be responsible for all tuition payments through May PLUS a $30 re-blocking fee. This payment will be collected at the time of withdrawal. If a parent/dancer chooses to drop their class(es), their costume(s) become property of Eight Count Dance Company, and costume, fundraiser earnings, and tuition/registration fees will not be reimbursed.
Placement
At Eight Count Dance Company we use our dance experience to place all students in the proper class according to their age and anticipated ability.
Attendance
Attendance is important for all dancer’s success in the class. Please notify Mrs. Brittney if your child is unable to attend class. Except for a contagious illness, dancers are encouraged to observe class if they are unable to participate. If the instructor feels that a dancer has a poor attendance record and is affecting the progress of the rest of the class, ECDC reserves the right to not allow the dancer to perform in recital.
Observation
ECDC is a closed studio with no parent/family observation. There may be instances where families are invited to observe class for special performances, events, or recording purposes. Reminder: please do not post ECDC choreography of any kind on social media platforms.
Class Etiquette
Dancers are expected to follow the rules and be respectful to staff members and fellow dancers. As employees of ECDC, teachers have the responsibility to see that their class is under control, and they have the authority to dismiss any student who will not cooperate and is a disruption to the rest of the class. Inappropriate behavior will not be allowed.
1. Dancers must wear proper attire and shoes to class with their hair pulled back and away from their face. For safety reasons, jewelry is not allowed in class.
2. Gum, food, and drinks (other than water) are not permitted in the studio.
3. Use of the bathroom is allowed for emergencies but is a hindrance. Please have your dancer use the bathroom before class.
4. Students should arrive with sufficient time to change into dance shoes to begin class on time. If students need to leave before the end of the class, they should notify the teacher before class begins. Students may not leave the classroom without first receiving permission from the teacher. For the Safety of the dancers no child is to be left more than 10 minutes before class and no longer than 5 minutes after class. Non-dancing children may not be left unattended in the studio.
5. DANCERS ARE TO NOT WEAR DANCE SHOES OUTSIDE! This will ruin dance shoes and bring unwanted dirt into the studio. Please mark all personal belongings. We encourage you to bring a bag to carry your dance belongings. Eight Count Dance Company is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
Class Attire
Bouncing Babes
Acceptable attire includes leotards with shorts, unitards, fitted tops, fitted shorts, and leggings. No tutus please. Children (and parents) are to practice barefoot.
Intro to Jazz & Tap
Acceptable attire includes leotards with shorts, unitards, fitted tops, fitted shorts, and leggings. Four-year-old children and younger may wear tutus. Dancers in this class will need two pairs of shoes: black ballet shoes AND black buckle or Velcro patent leather Mary Jane tap shoes.
Ballet, Pre-Pointe & Pointe
All female ballet dancers are required to wear black leotard and pink tights with her hair pulled back in a bun. Shrugs, skirts, and fitted shorts are acceptable. Male ballet dancers must wear fitted clothing. During the last week of each month, ballet dancers may wear a colored/printed leotard. Girls wear pink ballet shoes, and boys wear black ballet shoes. Demi pointe shoes are worn for pre-pointe, and pointe shoes are worn for pointe.
Cheerleading & Tumbling for Cheer
Acceptable attire includes t-shirts, shorts, crop tops, and leggings. Clean cheer shoes only.
Contemporary
Acceptable attire includes leotards with shorts, unitards, crop tops, fitted shorts, and leggings. Contemporary/lyrical shoes are worn for contemporary.
Jazz, Pom, Musical Theatre, Technique
Acceptable attire includes leotards with shorts, unitards, crop tops and fitted shorts, and leggings.
TAN jazz shoes are worn for jazz, pom, musical theatre, and technique.
Hip Hop & Tik Tok
Acceptable attire includes loose fitting clothes, sweats, t-shirts, leggings, wraps, and hats. Dancers wear tennis shoes or dance combat boots.
Acrobatics & Gymnasts
must wear a gymnastics unitard/leotard. No tights or extra clothing. Fitted shorts may be worn over leotards only. Acrobats and gymnasts do not wear shoes.
Tap Acceptable attire includes leotards with shorts, unitards, crop tops and fitted shorts, and leggings.
Tap
Acceptable attire includes leotards with shorts, unitards, crop tops, fitted shorts, and leggings. Dancers must wear non- shiny black tap shoes.
Princess Ballet
Acceptable attire includes princess dresses (Disney, etc.), and leotards with tutus/skirts. Dancers may wear ballet shoes or dance barefoot.
All Classes
-Jeans, jean shorts, and jean skirts are not allowed for any dancer in any class.
-If you are in jazz, ballet, contemporary, acro, technique, or gymnastics, loose fitting clothes are not allowed.
-Neat dance/gymnastics warmups may be worn only until your muscles are warm. Students may wear a sweater if necessary, during the winter.
-Slippers resembling ballet shoes are not dance shoes therefore they are not allowed.
-Sandals and Uggs are not allowed.
If your child is not in the correct attire, they will be asked to sit out of class.
Recital
In May, we will have a recital, where dancers will showcase all they have learned throughout the season. Recital will be held at the Westside Theatre in Newman. Each class (except for technique classes) will perform one dance. In addition, a production dance will be performed during recital that includes all dancers in the studio. A production t-shirt will be worn along with black jazz pants or leggings. Production t-shirts are $20. An autopayment for the production shirt will be applied March 5th, 2026.
*Gymnastics classes do not perform at recital.
Costumes
All dancers are required to purchase costumes and makeup for recital. Costumes range anywhere from $85-$135 per costume and are ordered by Mrs. Brittney. If your dancer(s) participating in a Hip Hop class, tennis shoes or boots will be an additional cost added to the total since a specific shoe is not required for class. Tights will also be required to purchase for all classes except hip hop. The cost of tights is $20 per tight. A costume invoice will be mailed in October and auto-payment will be applied on October 23rd, 2025. Late costume payments will result in a $20 late fee per costume. Costumes will not be given to any dancer who has not paid the entire costume balance. After the costumes are ordered, it becomes non-refundable; parents/guardians are required to pay the costume invoice. Costumes will only be returned with a $20 re-stocking fee. For uniform purposes, as well as for a non-washed-out face on the stage, makeup is required for all dancers (except for boys). All female dancers are required to wear Mary Kay eye shadow and blush, and Lipsense lipstick and gloss. Specific colors will be provided on an order form in January.
Fundraiser
To help with the expense of costumes, a fundraising option will be available to all students. Earnings will go directly to your dancer’s account. Fundraising will begin the first week of dance.
Picture Day
A professional photographer will take both group and individual pictures in the spring. Everyone will be in a group photo with their class, while individual pictures will be optional. A schedule of the times for each class will be given out at a later date.
Ethics Clause
Dancers are not permitted to use any choreography from Eight Count Dance Company at any time at performances/events/competitions/talent shows, etc. outside of the studio without permission. Dancers and families are not permitted to post any choreography/dances/rehearsals from Eight Count Dance Company on any online platform/social media page, etc. Finally, use of the studio logo for any apparel/accessory/product/flyer/event/fundraiser etc. is not permitted.

GOLDEN EIGHT GYMNASTICS
Established in 2022, Golden Eight Gymnastics was created around the goal of improving young lives through the sport of gymnastics. GEG seeks to offer opportunities for children ages three to eight from beginner to intermediate levels. Every attempt is made to offer programs that fit the needs, motivation, and skill level of each student. Safety is the primary concern and is reflected in our facility, equipment, lesson plans and staffing.
