DRESS CODE: Appropriate dance wear and proper dance shoes must be worn for ALL classes. Hair needs to be pulled back out of the face. See our website, programming guide, or front desk for required attire. Failure to wear required dress or shoes can result in students sitting out of class or not performing in recitals. ATTENDANCE: If a student misses more than four classes without a notice, this may result in termination of lessons.
Awareness of dates and events: It is your responsibility to be aware of Movement Dance Company's dates and special events. A calendar of events will be available at the front desk and can also be found on our website. Other notifications will be made by monthly email newsletters, other email alerts, and physical notices in the Movement Dance Company lobby. It is your responsibility to update your contact information if it changes. Care of Students: Movement Dance Company is not responsible for providing before and after class care for students. Parents with students under the age of 5 should remain in the studio during class. Photo Release: By agreeing to this document you grant permission to Movement Dance Company to take photos and videos of students that can be used in any promotional materials the studio creates.
Your registration fee (first half of September's tuition) is non-refundable. No refunds will be given for missed lessons. Tuition is due on the 1st of each month. A late fee of 10% of your balance will be added on the 10th of the month. If failure to pay your full balance by May 1st, your child(ren) may not be able to participate in the recital.
Recital Notifications: Costume fees are within monthly tuition. Costumes are not returnable. Tickets will also be required to attend end of the year recital (around $18). Recital Participation All students are expected to participate in our annual Spring Recital. If your dancer will not be participating, you must notify their instructor before costumes are ordered. Once costumes have been ordered, you will be responsible for all applicable costume fees outlined in the studio's withdrawal policy. Our annual Spring Recital is the highlight of the dance season. It gives each dancer the opportunity to showcase the skills, confidence, and hard work they have developed throughout the year. We are committed to making this a memorable and rewarding experience for every dancer and family.
Substitutes, Snow Days and Make Up Lessons Movement Dance Company reserves the right to provide a substitute instructor if the regularly scheduled instructor is unable to attend a lesson. If Movement Dance Company cannot arrange a substitute, missed classes will be made up. Movement Dance Company reserves the right to replace an instructor with a new qualified instructor in the event an instructor is no longer with the studio, unavailable at a student's desired lesson time, or for any other reason. School Closures: We will no longer follow school closures, as sometimes, the weather is in the morning, and classes are still able to be held in the evening. In the event of inclement weather or other unexpected interruption, Movement Dance Company may cancel classes. Students may make up their missed classes by attending another class of the same style/level or lower level.
Tuition and Fees Tuition must be paid on or by the 1st day of each month by automatic debit or credit card payment, cash, or check in the studio. If you are paying in cash you need to have exact change or the amount will be credited to your account as there is no cash stored in the studio. A 2% fee will be charged on all card transactions. A 10% late fee will be added if payment hasn't been received by the 10th of the month. Registration fees: Due upon registration is 50% of September Tuition. Tuition fees are non-refundable. Tuition is debited on the 1st day of each month for the duration agreed upon during registration. Verbal and Email consent of future registration changes: By signing this document you agree that verbal and email consent is sufficient in order to approve re-registrations, add or change classes for future registration and/or tuition changes, including consent to these policies and procedures.
Withdrawal Policy To withdraw from classes, a parent, guardian, or adult student must submit written notice to the studio at least 5 days before the first day of the upcoming month to avoid the next automatic tuition payment. Verbal notification will not be accepted. Tuition is non-refundable. Refunds or credits will not be issued for late withdrawal notices or missed classes. Withdrawal Fees Before November 1: Costume fees will be refunded only if written withdrawal notice is received and the account has a $0 balance. November 1 – November 30: Costume fees are non-refundable, and your costume will not be ordered. Beginning December 1: The remaining costume balance becomes due upon withdrawal. The balance is calculated at $10 per remaining month of the dance season. For example, if you withdraw on December 1, you will owe the remaining $60 costume balance. Once costumes arrive, you will be contacted to pick up your dancer's costume. On or after February 1: Because recital choreography, formations, and class planning are finalized, any dancer who withdraws on or after February 1 is responsible for all remaining tuition for the dance season, in addition to any unpaid costume balance.
