By creating an account, you acknowledge and agree to the following terms and conditions:

ELIGIBILITY: You must be over 18 years of age to register for an account. If you are under 18, a parent or legal guardian must complete the registration on your behalf.

ACCOUNT RESPONSIBILITY: As the account holder, you are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account information and for all activities that occur under your account.

ACCURATE INFORMATION: You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during the registration process and to update such information to keep it accurate, current, and complete.

PRIVACY POLICY: You have read and understood our Privacy Policy, which outlines how we collect, use, and protect your personal information.

TERMS OF SERVICE: You have read, understood, and agree to be bound by our Terms of Service, which govern your use of our services.

CONSENT TO COMMUNICATION: You consent to receive communications from us electronically, such as emails, texts, or notifications, regarding your account and related services.

LIABILITY WAIVER: You acknowledge that participation in dance activities involves physical exertion and may carry inherent risks. You agree to release and hold harmless Taryn's Dance Company from any liability for injury or harm that may occur during participation.

PHOTO/VIDEO CONSENT: You consent to the use of photos and videos taken during classes, events, and performances for promotional purposes on our website, social media, and other marketing materials, unless you provide written notice opting out.

This document outlines all relevant policies for families enrolled in any program at Taryn's Dance Company, including but not limited to Festival and Competitive divisions. Please read carefully and sign the agreement section at the end.

1. Tuition Policy
Tuition is assessed annually and divided into equal monthly payments for convenience.
A one-time registration fee is required upon enrollment and varies depending on registration date and number of students per family. Early bird registration is available.
All tuition and registration fees are non-refundable, except if we cannot accommodate the student in an appropriate class.
Tuition must be paid in full to remain in class. No refunds are issued for missed classes, costumes, workshops, or competitions unless cancelled with no reschedule.
A monthly tuition cap may apply per student. This does not include registration, costume, choreography, or competition fees.

2. Monthly Payment Policy
Families must submit a monthly payment plan at registration. Accepted method: Credit Card (VISA or Mastercard).
Monthly payments are based on the annual tuition, divided into equal installments. The first tuition payment is due upon registration. The final payment for the season will be processed in June.
Monthly fees must be paid in a timely manor for the student to participate in class.
Monthly fees are due on the 1st of each month, with a grace period until the 10th.

3. Late Fee Policy
Payments received after the 10th incur a late fee.
After two consecutive months of non-payment, students may be suspended from classes until the account is current.

4. Withdrawal Policy
One-month written notice must be submitted to the Director.
Missed classes are not considered notice of withdrawal.
A processing fee applies to all withdrawals that are requested under the one month time frame.

5. Costume Policy
Each performance class requires a costume.
A non-refundable deposit is due in October; the remaining balance is due in December. This deposit ensures dancer participation and allows for timely ordering of costumes.
Costumes are not released until the whole account is paid in full.
Costume fees in their entirety are non-refundable.

6. Competition Fee Policy (Festival/Competitive Programs Only)
Fees are set by external competition organizers and are non-refundable.
Students must be enrolled in all corequisite classes for the genre they compete in.

7. Attendance Policy
Consistent attendance is expected of all dancers.
For Festival and Competitive students: Attendance is mandatory from February to final competition in May. Missing more than 4 consecutive classes between March 1 and June 1 requires private make-up lessons at the parent’s cost.
The number and timing of the required private lessons will be determined by the instructor based off the dancers needs.
All dancers should communicate absences in advance, this can be completed through the parent portal.
Contagious illness is the only excused absence during Festival/Competitive season.

8. Injury Policy
Notify the studio immediately if an injury prevents class participation.
A medical note may be required for return.
Injured dancers are encouraged to observe class. When ready and able they can modify their movement in the class as well.
Tuition remains due during periods of injury.

9. Solos, Duets, and Extra Groups Policy
Open to dancers aged 6+.
Students must be enrolled in the appropriate class to perform extra choreography.
Fees must be paid before the first session.

10. Studio Ownership Policy
All choreography and materials are the intellectual property of TDC.
Students may not reproduce, share, or sell TDC material without written permission.
TDC is not responsible for lost, stolen, or misplaced property.
Parents must ensure dancers are picked up/dropped off on time. In case of delay, notify the studio immediately.

11. Bullying Policy
TDC maintains a zero-tolerance policy for bullying (physical, emotional, cyber).
Any inappropriate behavior may result in a meeting or immediate dismissal at the discretion of the Director.

12. Class Placement Policy
Class placements are determined by TDC faculty based on:
Dance ability (technical and emotional)
Previous training
Age, maturity, and social readiness
Placements may be reassessed in September and finalized by September 25.

13. Scheduling Policy
Tentative class times are provided at registration and are subject to change.
Minimum class size: 4 students. Classes may be combined if enrollment drops.
TDC reserves the right to change teachers and class times as needed.

14. Missed, Cancelled & Rescheduled Classes
No refunds for missed classes.
TDC will offer a make-up class if one is cancelled.
Classes run as usual on PD days, except statutory holidays and scheduled breaks.

15. Recital Policy
Year-end recital and dress rehearsals are mandatory for all students enrolled in performance-based classes.
Each class performs one routine and requires a costume.

16. Communication & Studio Conduct
Communication is shared via email, chalkboard, social media, and handouts.
All concerns must be submitted in writing to the Director and will be responded to within 48 hours.

17. Social Media Policy
Positive and respectful engagement is expected.
Negative posts about dancers, staff, or events will result in removal without refund.
Any concerns regarding social media should be directed to the Director.

18. Studio & Lobby Policy
Do not disturb classes unless it's an emergency.
Parents must remain in the designated waiting areas.
Siblings must be supervised and quiet.
No food, pop, or juice in the studios. Water bottles are encouraged.

In consideration of being permitted to participate in any way in programs, classes, camps, events, or activities offered by Taryn’s Dance Company Inc. (the “Studio”), including off-site activities, summer camps, and special events, the parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) of the minor participant agree to the following:

This waiver applies to all Studio programming, including but not limited to:

Dance classes and rehearsals

Summer camps

Outdoor and off-site activities (parks, community spaces, venues, events)

Workshops, performances, competitions, and special events

Any location where Taryn’s Dance Company activities take place

2. Safety Awareness & Participant Responsibility

The parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) agree to instruct the minor participant that:

Prior to participating in any activity, the participant should inspect the facilities, equipment, and environment.

If the participant believes any condition to be unsafe, they must immediately notify a staff member and refuse to participate.

If at any time the participant or parent/guardian believes conditions are unsafe, they will take all reasonable precautions to avoid the unsafe area and discontinue participation.

3. Assumption of Risk

I/we fully understand and acknowledge that participation in Studio activities involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:

Physical injury (sprains, strains, falls, collisions)

Serious bodily injury, permanent disability, paralysis, or death

Personal property damage

Risks associated with outdoor environments, public spaces, weather conditions, and uneven surfaces

These risks may be caused by:

The actions or inactions of the participant

The actions or inactions of others

The condition of facilities or off-site environments

Negligence of the Studio or other parties, to the fullest extent permitted by law

I/we voluntarily accept and assume all such risks, whether known or unknown, foreseeable or unforeseeable.

4. Medical Authorization

In the event of injury or medical emergency, I/we authorize Studio staff to obtain emergency medical treatment for the participant if I/we cannot be reached.

I/we understand that:

Reasonable efforts will be made to contact a parent/guardian as soon as possible

All medical expenses incurred are the responsibility of the parent/guardian

5. Release, Waiver & Discharge of Liability

I/we hereby release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to sue Taryn’s Dance Company Inc., including but not limited to its:

Owners, directors, officers, employees, instructors, assistants, volunteers

Event organizers, venue owners, lessors, or operators

Any parties acting on behalf of the Studio

(collectively referred to as the “Releasees”)

from any and all liability, claims, demands, losses, damages, or causes of action arising out of or related to participation in Studio activities, including off-site events and summer camps, whether caused in whole or in part by the negligence of the Releasees or otherwise, to the maximum extent permitted by law.

6. Indemnification & Hold Harmless

I/we agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Releasees from any loss, liability, damage, or cost, including legal fees, incurred as a result of the participant’s involvement in Studio activities.

If, despite this waiver, a claim is made against any Releasee, I/we agree to reimburse and hold the Releasee harmless for any amounts paid, including legal costs.

7. Transportation & Off-Site Acknowledgment

Unless explicitly stated in writing:

The Studio does not provide transportation to or from off-site locations

Parents/guardians are responsible for drop-off and pick-up at designated locations

Off-site activities may occur in public or outdoor spaces not owned or controlled by the Studio

8. Severability

This agreement is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by the laws of the Province of Alberta.
If any portion of this waiver is held invalid, the remaining sections shall continue in full legal force and effect.

9. Acknowledgment & Execution

On behalf of the participant, I/we confirm that:

I/we have read and fully understand this waiver

I/we understand that substantial rights are being waived

This agreement is signed freely and voluntarily, without inducement

This waiver shall remain in effect for all current and future participation unless revoked in writing.

The parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) of the minor participant of Taryn's Dance Company Inc. named below agree:
That no directors, officers, agents, contractors or employees of Taryn's Dance Company Inc. approached, solicited, or directly or indirectly attempted to direct any customer away from any Dance Studio serving Leduc, AB and surrounding areas.
That the parent(s) and/or legal guardian(s) and participant made the first contact and inquiries towards becoming a student and participant at Taryn's Dance Company Inc.
That the participant participated in any activities within or beyond Taryn's Dance Company Inc.'s facility after contacting Taryn's Dance Company Inc. with intentions to register or had already registered with Taryn's Dance Company Inc.
That the participant will not participate in any other Dance Studios in the Leduc or surrounding areas while being a registered student at Taryn's Dance Company Inc. unless given written permission from the director.
Privacy Consent/FOIP
The dancer information is collected and maintained so as to properly coordinate and operate the Taryn's Dance Company (TDC) and is also provided to Festivals for registration.
Dancer's names, information, data, photos and comments may also be used in newsletters, annual reports, grant applications, TDC and Festival websites, radio, newspaper, television, and other dance or local publications.
Individual and group photos may be taken and displayed in the local newspaper, in the local studios and for advertisements prepared by TDC.
Dancer's names and parents/guardians telephone, e-mail, and other information may be used for the purposes of the dance groups and TDC communication.
Dancer's names may be included on lists for the purpose of class groups, rehearsals, pictures, festivals, and recitals.
Social Media
Any comments or posts perceived to be obscene, defamatory, threatening, harassing, discriminatory or hateful towards TDC staff, students or families may subject the owner to disciplinary or legal action.Should you wish to engage on Social Media while identifying as a studio volunteer or employee, you may only do so with integrity, respect, and adhere to privacy and confidentiality.
Any content revealing or referring to sensitive studio information is not allowed to be shared online.
While affiliated with our studio, (for example, images of your child in TDC uniform) we will not tolerate any posts that are racially, sexually, physically or religiously offensive.
All matters pertaining directly to the studio - whether it be fees, scheduling, placements or performance opportunities - may not be communicated via Social Media. We have an open door policy and encourage all communication, complaints and feedback to be communicated to the director directly.
Families found to be engaging in 'hidden' or 'private' groups formed for the specific purpose of discussing studio matters will be encouraged to join our closed Facebook group for public discussion and warned against discussing Studio matters in their private online groups.
Photos or Videos taken from performances or rehearsals may NOT be posted online.
You may not post photographs / videos that feature TDC dancers other than your own online without the proven consent of their parent/guardian.
Identifying information of any featured minors - including names, ages or location - must be removed when posting on Social Media.
I have received and read the TDC handbook. I understand all of its policies and rules. (h.)
COVID-19
At TDC, we are following AHS guidelines with additional cleaning protocol. As with any public place, we cannot guarantee that your child will not be exposed (whether at TDC or anywhere) or if exposed, that your child will not contract the disease. By signing below, you agree to waive any claims of liability against Taryn's Dance Co. if your child contracts COVID-19 despite our best efforts to prevent it.
Additionally, I agree to notify TDC is my child or any member of our household contracts COVID-19 or has come into contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19. This action will help to ensure the utmost safety of our dancers and staff.
