GENERAL STUDIO POLICIES:
DRESS CODE ETIQUETTE:
NFBT has a specific dress code uniform for each age and division, so there is no need to purchase new dance wear prior to registering and attending the first class. Dress code leotards are provided through NFBT only.
NFBT Students age 2-17: Specific class uniform, convertible foot pink tights, no drawstring ballet shoes, top strap tap shoes.
Adult Students age 18 & up: Ballet attire or fitted clothing with proper shoes. No bare feet.
Hair: Slick ballet bun for all classes. Ballet buns should be secured with a hairband, bobby pins, hairnet (optional), and hairspray. Braids are acceptable for acrobatics. No ponytails or messy buns. At no time should hair be worn down.
DRESS CODE WHEN ARRIVING AND LEAVING:
Cover-ups: All students are required to wear full cover-ups and street shoes when entering and exiting the building. It is not professional and in the students best interest of health and safety for dancers to enter or exit the studio wearing only leotards/tights, dance shoes, and/or bare feet. Dance shoes should never be worn outside of the studio.
STUDIO LOBBY ETIQUETTE:
Parents are welcome to wait in the lobby while your child is in class. Wifi is available if you need to work while waiting. The studio lobby is a place of business and should remain fairly quiet as not to disturb students while they are in class. Please keep your conversation within the studio appropriate for all ears to hear, avoid gossip, vulgar language, and personal conversations that you would not want repeated.
If you are waiting in the lobby with a younger child/sibling, make sure they remain seated with you and have a quiet activity. The studio lobby is not to be used as play area for younger siblings, as our insurance will not cover any injuries that occur. Please do not allow your children to stand, walk or lean upside down on chairs, benches, and other furniture. Younger siblings should not be playing or running in the hallway while classes are in session. Siblings may enter the hallway to use the restroom with the supervision of a parent.
ATTENDANCE, TARDINESS, & MAKE-UP CLASSES:
Regular attendance is expected. We ask that parents please let us know in advance if your child will be absent or tardy due to traffic, illness, travel, and/or other conflicts/commitments. Make-up classes are offered as a courtesy. No refunds or credits will be given for classes missed. Make-up classes must be scheduled and attended within two weeks after the absence, but not prior to the absence. Make-up classes will not be an option for missed classes 4-6 weeks prior to performances.
Tardiness Etiquette: If your child arrives late to the scheduled class, she/he should not run into the class in the middle of an exercise and should not interrupt the instructor while the instructor is speaking to the class, but the tardy student should enter the classroom quietly, acknowledge the instructor, and wait by the door until the instructor invites them to join in.
TUITION AND PAYMENT SCHEDULES:
Monthly tuition is the same each month regardless of absences, school holidays, weather days, national or state emergencies, stay at home orders, virtual classes, or the number of classes per month. Most months will consist of four classes per month, although, some months will have five classes and some months will have three classes.
There are NO REFUNDS or CREDITS for classes missed. Makeup classes are offered as a courtesy, only if classes are available in the appropriate age and level for the student to attend.
Monthly tuition will be billed to your credit card on file on the first of each month. A 3% convenience fee will be added to all credit card transactions. The convenience fee is subject to change. If you prefer to pay by check or cash, payment must be received no later than seven days prior to the first of the month.
Monthly tuition payments are required for all programs that run longer than six weeks consecutively. Tuition paid in full for the full 12 month term will receive a 5% discount.
Monthly tuition rates for shorts sessions varies and is not the same rate as the monthly tuition for the full term. Monthly tuition for short sessions will be determined according to the length of the session.
LATE FEES:
Tuition paid after the due date will automatically incur a $25 late fee. Students will not be admitted to class if tuition payments are more than 30 days past due.Additional late fees will be assessed each month for every additional 30 days past due. PAYMENT AGREEMENT:
By registering my child or myself for programs offered through North Florida Ballet Theatre, I understand that I am responsible for all costs required to participate in programs at North Florida Ballet Theatre to include, but not limited to registration, tuition, and other applicable fees and that I am held responsible for all fees and balances still due if I withdraw my child from participation, as stated in North Florida Ballet Theatre policies.
I acknowledge that I have access to these policies at any time, to view updates and revisions by logging into the parent portal. General policies, but not all detailed policies, may be viewed through the studio website by visiting NorthFloridaBalletTheatre.com
By registering my child I agree to submit payments on time, electronically, and hereby authorize North Florida Ballet Theatre to charge my credit card on file for tuition and other fees required to participate. Should I dispute a charge through my financial institution this will constitute a breach of contract possibly resulting in, but not limited to, penalties, additional fees, collection, legal action, and/or termination of any and/or all current and future services with North Florida Ballet Theatre.
INSUFFICIENT PAYMENT FEE:
Insufficient payments made by check will incur a $25 returned check fee.
SCHEDULE CHANGES:
Please notify the studio by email (admin@NorthFloridaBalletTheatre.com) no less than 30 days prior to the next billing period with requested schedule changes. All schedule changes must be approved through the director.
WITHDRAWAL POLICIES:
For early withdrawal request, the studio must be notified by email (admin@NorthFloridaBalletTheatre.com) no less than 30 days prior to the next billing period. We understand that unexpected situations may occur causing the need for early withdrawal before end of the enrollment term. Because each enrolled student is holding a position in the class that will need to be filled, families who withdraw their dancer before the end of the agreed upon term are responsible for the remaining balance before an early withdrawal can be complete.
NO REFUND POLICY:
All Studio Payments are Non-Refundable: The studio will not provide refunds for tuition, missed classes, class changes, withdrawals, studio closings for holidays, inclement weather, local/national government mandates, additional studio fees such as registration fees, costume fees, performance & rehearsal fees and/or any other paid fees required by NFBT. Payments are applicable only for the designated time and purpose paid for and cannot be carried over and/or credited for use at a later time.
FAMILY/MULTIPLE CLASS DISCOUNTS:
The tuition chart is based on the first student registered per family. Tuition discounts apply automatically for two or more classes. Registration using Family discounts for students who are not siblings is NOT PERMITTED and tuition will be adjusted accordingly.
TUITION & VIRTUAL CLASSES:
In the event that we experience another Pandemic, stay at home order, business shutdown, government mandate, natural disaster, or other unexpected event that does not allow students to attend in-studio classes, the studio will continue to hold classes virtually. Tuition will remain the same and be due as scheduled and agreed upon.Â
INSURANCE:
North Florida Ballet Theatre does not carry medical insurance for its students. It is required that all dance students be covered by their own family insurance policy. If injuries occur, it is understood that the student's own policy is the only source of reimbursement. This policy is the same for students, family members, and others while inside the studio, or at any activity outside of the studio such as performances, competitions, conventions, studio activities, fundraisers. North Florida Ballet Theatre is not responsible for any personal injury during any of these events.
CLASS OBSERVATION:
Each classroom has a large viewing window so you can take an occasional peek at your child during class. We do ask that parents not stand at the viewing windows for the full length of the class, as this can be distracting to your child, the other students, and the instructor. If viewing becomes too much of a distraction, the viewing window will be covered. Viewing windows will also be closed during rehearsals for performances. Designated days may be scheduled for parents to either come in to watch class or observe through viewing windows.
HOLIDAYS:
North Florida Ballet Theatre will be closed on the following holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas/Winter Break, Spring Break, Memorial Day.
