About Us
The French Academy of Performing Arts is a dance studio, providing care to children ages 4 years – 17 years and adults. Our goal is to provide excellence in our academic dance program, a safe environment, and enjoyable activities every day. We believe our center will help your child develop academically, physically, emotionally, and socially. We are equally committed to the safety and well-being of each child here at our center.
Curriculum & Activities
At the French Academy of Performing Arts our curriculum is designed to nurture the whole child through dance, gymnastics, creative arts, and educational enrichment. Students receive instruction in a variety of performing arts disciplines including classical ballet, modern-contemporary, jazz, hip-hop, tap, cultural dance, theatre, and acro-gymnastics. We introduce young learners to foundational movement skills, gradually building technique, coordination, confidence, and artistic expression as they reach individual milestones.
To support proper body awareness and technical development, FAPA incorporates elements of the Cecchetti and Vaganova ballet methodologies, adapted for each age and level. Through structured group instruction, students explore discipline, musicality, and movement quality while learning the four essential elements of dance: space, time, force, and shape.
Classes are organized into progressive learning levels that encourage exploration, creativity, and achievement: Level 1: Ages 4–5 / Level 2: Ages 6–9 / Level 3: Ages 10–13 / Level 4: Ages 14–17.
Across all levels, students engage in a well-rounded program that includes French terminology and language exposure, progressive technique training, stage presence, performance preparation, costume and prop orientation, choreography creation, and artistic storytelling. Additional enrichment may include literacy development (phonics, reading, writing), numeracy, visual arts, and language exploration to support academic and creative growth.
Beyond structured classes, students participate in engaging hands-on activities that promote imagination, social development, and cognitive skills. These may include story time, LEGO building, circle time, tumbling, music and singing, dress-up play, arts and crafts, puzzles, flashcards, pretend play with animals and vehicles, musical instruments, movement games, painting, science exploration, puppetry, and other interactive learning experiences.
Each day begins with guided warm-up activities that encourage healthy habits and injury prevention. Warm-ups may include yoga, kids Zumba choreography, stretching and alignment exercises, safe movement practices, leadership games such as “follow the leader,” and coordination drills, all designed to promote physical wellness and teamwork.
At FAPA, our goal is to create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where students can learn, play, and grow with confidence. We strive to build a community that children are excited to attend and families feel proud to be part of. Parents are always welcomed and encouraged to engage, observe, and participate in studio and center activities as we continue to cultivate the Power of Purple spirit within every child.

Children are not to be dropped off in the parking lot and allowed to enter unescorted. This is a state regulation. The parent(s) of the child shall at any time the child is in attendance be permitted access to all areas of the Center and shall make his or her presence known to Center Staff prior to removing the child from the Center.
