Downtown Dance Policies
School Year Program 2025-2026
*Classes start Tuesday, September 2, 2025.
MESSAGE FOR NEW STUDENTS
Welcome! Please select "TRIAL" when registering for a class. This allows you to try a class before committing to a month of tuition.
For returning students who want to test a class, you may also select to do a trial, but you may need to reach out if you don't see that option for older age groups.
REGISTRATION
The Registration Fee is not refundable.
TUITION
Tuition is charged on monthly auto-pay on the 1st of the month through April 1.
*TUITION POLICY* If your account is NOT PAID by the 1st of the next month, the dancer cannot return to class until the balance is paid. This only becomes an issue if your card is declined through auto-pay and you do not follow up with a payment.
Tuition is not adjustable for absences. Attending a class as a make-up is optional.
If you need to drop a class, do so before the 1st of the month when tuition is paid. There are no refunds for unused classes during a month.
If you join a class in the middle of a month, it's $15 per class until you are on autopay monthly tuition.
Late Fees for Declined Payments- Charge a $10.00 fee 15 days after the due date. If left unpaid, another fee of $10.00 is charged every 15 days which will stop automatically after 1 time.
If you register, then withdraw from a class & need a tuition refund, there is a $5 cancellation fee to cover the payment processing fees. Consider taking the free trial (1 class) at Registration and register or withdraw after that class.
For snow cancellations, it's up to the dancer to attend another class as a make-up. In the winter/spring, if we can get the majority of the class to meet at a different/day/time for a make-up, we will schedule one.
FAQ-Our winter break coincides with Bucknell. Tuition is not adjusted for that break. The total tuition for the year has been calculated for 8 equal payments.
PARTICIPATION
Caregivers for dancers ages 3-7 must stay in the wait area or lot during the class.
Good attendance and arriving on time is important for the success of the student and the class as a whole. If you are absent, please take a video or get together with a classmate to catch up on recital choreography.
Please have socks and sneakers for the first day of dance if you do not have dance shoes. Arrive at least 5 minutes early to ask the teacher if they have dance shoes available to borrow.
RECITAL
Dancers are expected to perform in the May Recital at the end of the school-year program.
Please save the dates of May 14-17, 2026.
Please make sure you have a card on file in this parent portal. There will be a November auto-payment for recital costumes as well as a $15 recital videography fee (that's per family).
We don't have the recital costume cost at this time. Last year, it was $75-90 per class costume. This year, there may be a slight increase to account for wholesale costumers raising prices for tariffs.
