A non-refundable fee of $45 per student per year is billed at the time of registration and billed annually in September.

Northeastern Ballet Theatre recognizes that every child has the right to enjoy a life free from bullying; therefore we will always take seriously all allegations of bullying and are committed to deal with it effectively, should it happen. We will always endeavor to work with students and parents to prevent it from happening.

We at Northeastern Ballet Theatre strive to create an environment that fosters positive learning and development of our dancers. Drama has no place in our school nor performance company. We have a zero drama policy and address all matters as they arise, including dismissal of anyone who creates unnecessary tension between students, parents, etc. Each dancer is on their own individual journey and competes against no one. Our focus is learning through loving, so please keep this in mind when participating.

We expect students to attend all classes. Excessive absences could lead to students not advancing to the next level. If dancers miss rehearsals, they could also be removed from sections of their piece. We understand illness happens, so we encourage using Zoom, even if only to observe classes/rehearsals, when an absence may typically occur. To notify the school of a student absence or need for Zoom, please use the parent portal or email info@northeasternballet.org.

During sessions, students are expected to behave in a polite manner. They are expected to listen and we discourage unnecessary talking. If a student is causing disruption to others’ learning, they may be asked to leave the lesson.
Any unacceptable behavior from students and/or parents/carers will not be accepted. Unacceptable behavior by students may result in exclusion from current and/or future activities. Parents or family members are held to this same behavior policy and may be banned from premises, events and/or performances for failure to follow proper conduct.

We make every effort possible not to cancel classes. In the event an in-person class cannot be held, classes will be moved to Zoom. If a cancellation must occur due to instructor illness, the class will be made up. On rare occasions, and if a make-up is deemed impossible, tuition credit may be given at the discretion of the administration. If you do not come to the scheduled make-up, please speak to your instructor about another appropriate make-up class. Tuition credit is not given when a make-up class is offered and not attended.

We believe in offering the very best ballet education. We strive to keep our class sizes to fewer than 15 dancers per class. In the event additional space is needed due to demand, an additional class of the same level will be added based on instructor/studio availability.

I agree to make communication between myself and Northeastern Ballet Theatre as open as possible by providing an e-mail address and text capable mobile number I know to be current. Furthermore, I agree to checking e-mail and text messages frequently so that I may see any updates and read them thoroughly. We make every effort to ensure going forward that only relevant communications reach your inbox.

Ballet dress codes are necessary to ensure the safety, technique evaluation and uniformity of dancers. Students are responsible for coming to class prepared with appropriate dress at all times. If a student comes without following the dress code, the instructor may ask them to leave.

Female students:
- Hair must be worn in a traditional ballet bun. No bangs allowed. If a female student has short hair all hair including bangs must be clipped back and gelled away from the face. The goal is to have the hair off the neck and face to create an elegant line in a style that cannot move around.
- An exception for Beginnings Ballet dancers: may wear their hair in a traditional ballet bun or in a neat high ponytail with any bangs clipped off the face.
- Ballet tights and leotards must be free of holes.
- Fashion accessories of any kind, including headbands and bandanas, are not allowed.
- NO jewelry (except small stud earrings). Dangling earrings and hoops are strictly prohibited due to safety reasons. NO hair ties or rubber bands are allowed on wrists. NO watches/bracelets, necklaces, or rings.
- As applicable by age, female dancers should wear appropriate support undergarment under leotard. Please wear skin tone or leotard color undergarments, if you must wear undergarments under tights, to ensure they are not visible.
- Pointe shoes for beginner pointe dancers should NOT be purchased until they are given guidelines by the teacher. Elastics and ribbons must be properly sewn to the pointe shoes once they are approved by the teacher. A tutorial on how to properly sew pointe shoes will be given by NBT staff as needed.

Out of respect to all, proper personal hygiene (body and clothing) must be observed.

Warm-up clothing will be allowed in class at the teacher's discretion during cold weather. Only tight-fitting "dance" sweaters and leg warmers are allowed. No loose or baggy clothes (including T-shirts) are permitted under any circumstances. No sweatshirts with hoods. No street clothes are allowed.

For the safety of all dancers, if eyeglasses are needed, please attach them with a sports strap around the bun. Contacts are highly recommended for more advanced dancers instead of eyeglasses.

Attire:
All students must furnish their own clothing and shoes for classes and performances.

Girls:
Any color leotard.
No skirts attached to leotards except for Ballet Beginnings and Ballet I
Tights may either be footed or convertible. Tights with seams for pointe students are required for performances only.
Shoes: Pink ballet slippers. Please Note: Elastics MUST be sewn on ballet slippers to ensure a proper fit.

Boys:
Black shorts, white t-shirt or leotard, and white tights or socks
Shoes: Black or white split sole shoes

I release Northeastern Ballet Theatre, its instructors, independent contractors, volunteers, and all other associates from liability for harm or injury that may be suffered by me and/or members of my family traveling to or from or during participation in activities and programs sponsored by Northeastern Ballet Theatre. I hereby acknowledge that I am voluntarily assuming full responsibility for all risks of physical injury arising out of active participation in a dance class or other dance related activity. I take full responsibility for my and/or members of my family's health, and I therefore release Northeastern Ballet Theatre, its instructors, independent contractors and all associates from liability for harm, injury or death from any experience of illness or disease. I understand that there are NO refunds for registration fees or classes. I understand that my student must have this release form signed before attending classes, intensives, auditions or performances.

Northeastern Ballet Theatre and Instructors are not liable for personal injuries or loss of or damage to personal property. Since dance is a physical activity, injuries may occur. Each student may decline to participate in any activity which he or she deems to be harmful. The student (or parent if child is under 18) is responsible to inform the instructor of any physical limitations which may prevent full participation in class(es).

I hereby give permission for Northeastern Ballet Theatre personnel to give myself or my minor child simple first aid when necessary. In the event of a more serious accident/injury, I give permission for myself or my child to be transported to a hospital or other emergency medical facility to receive medical treatment. I also authorize the hospital to undertake examination and emergency treatment if warranted on behalf of myself or my child.

WITHDRAWAL(S):The studio requires 1 month's notice for withdrawal from classes. If you wish to withdraw your student(s), we will need to have it in a form of writing via email or handwritten note stating that you wish to withdraw your child. If we do not receive it in a form of writing we will continue to run your EFT, send invoices, etc. We will stop the running of EFTs and invoices once we have received your withdrawal in writing. If you drop classes, your registration fee and reservation for class is forfeited and you will have to re-register when registration is OPEN ($45.00). Only exception is illness or injury from the time you were absent with a Doctor’s excuse. Doctor’s excuse must be properly dated from the date of illness or injury and throughout the healing process to receive entry back into class.

REFUND(S) :. NO REFUNDS or EXCHANGES on any payments made to the studio including full year payments! This includes any CREDIT left in your account. There is also NO TRANSFERRING of credit to another account of any kind
Once a payment for anything has been made to the studio, it is non-refundable and it will not be credited for any reason no matter when the order is due or is placed. This includes but is not limited to registration fees, tuition, shoes, costumes, logo wear, accessories, workshops, dance camps etc.
There will be no refunds made if your child misses a class; however they may make up the class (staff or your child's teacher will assist in scheduling). If we cancel a class due to teacher illness, we will arrange a make-up time. All make-up classes must be taken no later than May 1st. There are 3 weather/emergency closings built into the dance year. After the 3rd emergency closing we will schedule a make up class for the entire class.
In the event of an extended closure, we will make the automatic switch to virtual classes. There will be no discount or refund for these classes. In order to stay an active student, you must participate in virtual lessons and keep your tuition up to date.


CONFERENCES: If at any time you have questions or wish to talk with any of us regarding your child please call the studio or email us at info@northeasternballet.org. We will be happy to talk with you. Our classes run back-to-back; therefore, teachers are not available for discussion during class or between classes.

Media Consent/Release Form



I, for myself, and as parent, legal guardian, or custodian of participating minor(s), hereby authorize Northeastern Ballet Theatre to use the image, voice, or likeness of myself and/or my participating minor(s) in photographs, audio recordings, video recordings, other digital media and/or information related to experiences with Northeastern Ballet Theatre.

I understand that this information may be used in publications, including, but not limited to: electronic and web-based publications, website and social media accounts (such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X (Twitter)), written articles, news media, audiovisual presentations, promotional/marketing/advertising literature, community presentations, letters to area legislators/funding streams and/or other similar ways.

My consent is freely given as a public service to Northeastern Ballet Theatre, without expectation of acknowledgment, recognition, payment or other consideration. I waive any right to royalties or other compensation arising or related to the use of the media.

I release Northeastern Ballet Theatre and their respective employees, volunteers, officers and agents from any and all liability which may arise from the use of such news media stories, promotional materials, written articles, video and/or photographs.

I hereby grant Northeastern Ballet Theatre creative permission to edit, alter, copy, exhibit, publish, or distribute media information for any lawful purpose, provided that the media is not altered in an explicit manner or used maliciously. In addition, I waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product. I understand and agree that all media will become the property of Northeastern Ballet Theatre and will not be returned.

I understand that I can revoke this release at any time in writing and that the use of any of my photos or other information authorized by this release will immediately cease.

The signature of a parent or legal guardian is required if the participating individual is under the age of 18.

If you do not wish for the image, voice, or likeness of yourself and/or your participating minor(s) to be used publicly, please fill out the "Photo Opt-Out" Release Form. 

Northeastern Ballet Theatre does not follow local school department weather cancellations. Should a class be moved to Zoom rather than in-person, we will notify families through email and/or text message. We do not call people individually unless the change is close to class time and for an unexpected reason.
