CODE OF CONDUCT
Nutmeg Performing Arts Center has been a family-oriented dance studio since 1998. Our principles stem from years of experience in the dance and performance industry. We require a strict CODE OF CONDUCT for all of our dancers and parents. Please read the following and initial below.

Dancers will arrive to class on time, in proper dress and hair, come with a personal water bottle, and be ready to learn. Parents will drop off/pick up in a timely manner and contact the studio if there is an emergency. Only registered parents/emergency contacts will be allowed to pick up students. Please let us know if there is any change to your dancer’s contact information.

Dancers will respect staff and other students during their time in the studio and will not be disruptive while the teacher is speaking. Parents will support the principles outlined to ensure a positive dance experience for their child/children.

We have a ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY regarding BULLYING and this includes CYBER BULLYING. Parents/Guardians need to notify us if they suspect their child is being bullied in any way. We will also notify a student’s parent/guardian if we see any such behavior. Students with cell phones must keep them in their dance bags during class. No photos or videos may be taken in the studio. Sharing of inappropriate material is grounds for dismissal.

FOR OUR TINIEST DANCERS ages 2-5
Please have your little ones arrive on time, dressed appropriately for class, and ready to have fun! It’s often motivating for them to see their fellow classmates going into the studio for class at the same time. Please remember to label their shoes, water bottles, and any other items that may get accidentally put into another child’s bag! We want your little one to enjoy their time here, and in our experience, it may take time for them to feel comfortable and trust us. Please continue to encourage your dancer, and we will do our best to make their time in the studio positive and happy. If you have any concerns or suggestions, please let us know how we can help.

ILLNESS/ABSENCES
For the safety of students and staff, please do not send your child to class if he/she is not feeling well, has a fever, or has been out of school during the day due to illness.
Please let us know if your child will be absent from class. Consistency and punctuality are important to get the most out of class. Not only do our teachers take time to create choreography during class, but if several students are absent, we can make the decision to cancel class and reschedule. For the courtesy of our staff and students, please call or email the studio at least one hour prior to the start of class if possible.

CANCELLATION/INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY
If for some unforeseen reason we need to cancel classes, we will notify parents via phone, email, text, or posting on our Facebook page. For inclement weather, we will follow the Bristol/Burlington Schools cancellation policy and will update our FB page. We will NOT hold a makeup day for weather related canceled classes. Instead, we encourage your child to join a similar class at their earliest convenience.

I will not take a photo or video of other children without their parent's permission due to the safety and privacy protection of the child. If failure to follow this rule, there is a possibility of dismissal from the studio.

I will not post any photos or videos of other children from Nutmeg Performing Arts Center on social media without the permission of the child due to the safety and privacy protection of the child. If failure to follow this rule, there is a possibility of dismissal from the studio.

I will not post any videos of choreography prior to the end of year recital. If failure to follow this rule, there is a possibility of dismissal from the studio.

I allow my child to be photographed and/or videotaped by Nutmeg Performing Arts Center for Nutmeg Performing Arts Center's use on social media, as well as promotional ads, and the end of year recital.

I am aware and fully understand that there are risks and dangers associated with participation in dance classes and different dance movements of the varied dance disciplines. These movements and activities could result in bodily injury, partial or total disability, or death. The social and economic losses and/or damages which could result from these risks and dangers could be severe. I acknowledge that it is standard teaching protocol that a Nutmeg Performing Arts Center LLC Instructor may physically touch students during his/her instruction, and I will not hold Nutmeg Performing Arts Center LLC liable for such physical touching. I understand that these risks and dangers may be caused by the negligence of the participant or the negligence of others. There may be risks not known to us or not foreseeable at this time. Nutmeg Performing Arts Center LLC is not responsible for anything that is lost or stolen.
I accept and assume all such risks and responsibilities for the lessees and/or damages following such injury and/or disability however caused or alleged to be caused in whole or in part by the negligence of Nutmeg Performing Arts Center LLC, its instructors, independent contractors, hosts, other participants/students, sponsors, advertisers, owners, officers and lessees of the premises used to conduct the event or activity and each of them, their officers, directors, agents and employees. I agree that this consent and assumption of risk statement covers every event or activity sponsored by Nutmeg Performing Arts Center LLC.
Consent for Emergency Treatment: In cases of emergency, Nutmeg Performing Arts Center LLC is authorized to arrange for medical services for the student, and I consent to appropriate medical and surgical service recommended by licensed medical professionals. I accept full responsibility for all costs of said medical care and any emergency treatments. Nutmeg Performing Arts Center LLC will not be responsible for the cost of any medical care or emergency treatments. I hereby waive all claims whatsoever in connection with such medical treatments. I agree that Nutmeg Performing Arts Center LLC will not be held liable for and agree to hold Nutmeg Performing Arts Center LLC harmless from all liabilities, losses, damages or expenses related to the student’s participation in any activities at Nutmeg Performing Arts Center LLC.
I HAVE READ THE ABOVE WAIVER, ADDITIONAL HANDOUT “IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION,” THAT CONTAINED A BREAKDOWN OF THE STUDENT/PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES AND SIGN IT VOLUNTARILY. I HAVE READ THE STUDIO POLICIES AND UNDERSTAND THAT FAILURE TO ABIDE BY THESE POLICIES AND STANDARDS SET FORTH MAY REQUIRE DISMISSAL FROM THE STUDIO.

I acknowledge that I have been informed by Nutmeg Performing Arts Center LLC. of the nature of the instruction my child will receive and that such instruction involves physical exercise, exertion and stress, which could result in injury and /or disability. Also I have explained to my child what is expected to attend Nutmeg Performing Arts Center LLC.

We strive to give each student a positive and meaningful dance experience here at Nutmeg Performing Arts Center. Together with our teachers, we take time outside of class to plan and execute a comprehensive dance experience for our dance students. This includes musical selection, choreography, costumes, props, venues for recital, and any other required training and materials we need to make our dancers get the most out of their time with us and maximize the value of your tuition dollars. In addition, we can’t run a dance studio without enrollment, and we appreciate that you have chosen us for your child’s dance education! Classes are based on a 10 month season, and we require payment for the first and last month of tuition. Please be mindful that timely payment of tuition is expected DUE ON THE FIRST OF THE MONTH. After the 5th, a $25 LATE FEE WILL BE CHARGED. Enrollment in our Auto-Pay portal will help prevent late fees. Students are not permitted to attend class if payment is 30 days past due. Students will not be permitted to perform in the recital if they still have a balance.

All payments and fees are non refundable, and we require a one month notice if your child will not be continuing classes. A studio credit will be given for unforeseen circumstances and can be used toward any future youth or adult classes.
