Dress Code Policy
A dress code allows for a disciplined and professional appearance for our students. Anyone not in the proper dress code may be asked to leave the class. SAB uniforms can be purchased at the studio.

Hair
All dance students are required to have their hair pulled back away from the face and up off the neck.

All Ballet students MUST wear hair in a bun.
This is very important for learning proper body positioning and control. It is also distracting when students must constantly brush hair out of their eyes.

Uniforms by Class

Ballet (Pre-Ballet through Ballet 6)
Girls: SAB class leotard and skirt for your level, pink ballet tights (no holes), split-sole canvas demi-point ballet shoes. (If taking pointe: pointe shoes must be approved by your teacher.)
Boys: SAB class shirt, black tights, dance pants, or shorts and split-sole canvas demi-point ballet shoes.

Jazz
Girls: SAB class leotard for your level, black leggings, and Bloch Neoflex slip-on tan jazz shoes.
Boys: SAB class shirt, black pants or shorts, and Bloch Neoflex slip-on tan jazz shoes.

Ballroom
Girls: SAB class leotard for your level, black leggings, and Bloch Neoflex slip-on tan jazz shoes.
Boys: SAB class shirt, black pants or shorts, and Bloch Neoflex slip-on tan jazz shoes.

Character
Girls: SAB class leotard for your level, character skirt, and character shoes.
Boys: SAB class shirt, black pants, and character shoes.

Contemporary / Modern
Girls: SAB class leotard for your level, black leggings or fitted dance joggers, and contemporary/dance socks.
Boys: SAB class shirt, black pants or shorts, and contemporary/dance socks.

Tap
Girls: SAB class leotard for your level, black leggings, and Bloch slip-on black tap shoes.
Boys: SAB class shirt, black pants, and Bloch slip-on black tap shoes.

Musical Theater
Girls: SAB class leotard for your level, black leggings, and tan jazz shoes.
Boys: SAB class shirt, black pants or shorts, and tan jazz shoes.

Acro
Girls: SAB class leotard, black leggings, and barefoot. (Pre-Ballet and Ballet 1 may wear any leotard or skirt with black leggings.)
Boys: SAB class shirt and black shorts or pants, barefoot.

Company Rehearsals (Nutcracker / Spring Shows)
Girls: Black leotard, pink ballet tights (no holes).
Boys: White shirt, black tights, dance pants, or shorts.

General Rules
No jewelry is to be worn to any class, with the exception of small stud earrings.
Gala: All students are required to wear the SAB uniform.

Studio Policies

It is important in providing the best classroom environment possible for your child.

School Etiquette and Rules
• The studio staff reserves the right to remove any student from class or dismiss a student from the school because of disruptive behavior by the student and/or family members while at the St. Augustine Ballet studio.
• Students must treat each other with respect.
• If the student is going to miss class they must notify the school in advance by email..
• Siblings of students are not to be left in the studio unsupervised at any time.
• No talking during class.
• Students may not leave class without permission from the instructor.
• All students must arrive to class on time. If they are late they must wait for the instructor’s permission to enter the class.
• No gum, candy, peanuts. or peanut products.
• No food or beverages allowed in the studios, with exception of spillproof water bottles.
• All students must follow the Dress Code or they will not be allowed in class.
• All cell phones must be turned off before entering the classroom.
• No one is allowed in classrooms without permission from the teacher.
• There will be no hanging, playing, sitting, or climbing on barres, tumbling equipment or any other equipment.

Student Placement
• The Director will determine the student’s class placement based on age and skill level.

Continuous Enrollment
• Registration is open year-round.
• The St. Augustine Ballet runs on a two semester session schedule from August to December and January to June.
• Commitment is expected through the end of the season.

Payments and Tuition
• The annual registration fee is $25 (family max $45) before August 15th and $30 (family max $50) after August 15th per student is due at the time of registration and is non-refundable.
• Gala fees are collected in Feb. and are non-refundable.
• Automatic tuition payments will be deducted from your account on the first of each month through Visa, Master Card or Bank Draft through Dance Studio-Pro
• $30 fee for late payments after 15 days.
• Delinquent accounts will result in suspended enrollment.
• Tuition rates are not prorated in August or December but will be prorated in June. Also, if you are sick or there’s a holiday, you will not be reimbursed for the missed class however, you are welcome to come to another class on your level to make it up. If a 5th week is present in a month, you are not charged any additional fees for additional class time.
• No refunds are given on classes missed due to weather or emergency closings of the school.
• Full class tuition is due each month regardless of class attendance.
• Monthly fees remain the same despite fewer classes (holidays) or more classes (5-week months).
• If tuition is not received the child will be dropped from the class and re-registration will be required upon returning, pending class availability.

Withdrawals
• A student withdrawing from the school must have a parent/guardian email and call the office to request an official withdrawal form and are responsible for submitting it, giving SAB a 30 days notice. Otherwise a student is obligated to pay full tuition through the end of the school year.
• With class changes/ drops, the student is obligated to give SAB a 30 days notice via email, otherwise the student is obligated to give full tuition for that class until the end of the school year.

Photography/Videography
• Dancers will be photographed and/or filmed for any legitimate purpose by the activity holders, producers, sponsors, and organizers of SAB.

Outside Training
• The curriculum for the St. Augustine Ballet & Conservatory students is demanding and thorough. Students placed in these levels with the desire to take class and/or perform with other ballet schools or companies must speak to the Director and receive permission to do so in advance.

Lost and Found
• St. Augustine Ballet & Conservatory is not responsible for any items left in the studio.
