Dance Season: 2025–2026
PARTICIPATION
Welcome to the Falmouth Dance (FD)! Whether you are a returning member or joining us for the first time, we are thrilled to have you.
Class/Team selection is based on a dancer’s:
Technique
Potential
Commitment
Skill level
Enthusiasm
Attitude and behavior
Attendance
Stage presence
All placements are determined by our instructors and approved by the Studio Owner. Dancers will be placed in classes appropriate to their development and commitment level.
All group assignments are final once selected by the teacher.

ATTENDANCE & TIME COMMITMENT
Being part of this studio is a commitment to your teammates and the studio. Like any sport, success depends on consistent attendance and preparation.
Up to three (3) unexcused absences from company classes/rehearsals allowed per season
Prior notice does not automatically make an absence excused
A dancer may not miss more than five (5) of any single class throughout the season
Two (2) tardies = one unexcused absence
Excused absences include:
Death in the family
Required school performance for credit
Weddings/religious ceremonies for immediate family
Serious illness or contagious conditions
If mildly ill or injured, dancers must attend and observe class.
⚠ ATTENDANCE IMPACT ON ROUTINES
Teachers may:
Reassign or remove a dancer from sections of choreography
Replace a dancer in formations
Remove a dancer entirely from a routine
…if attendance, preparation, or effort does not meet expectations. These changes may occur at any time during the season. No refunds will be issued.
CAMPS & INTENSIVES
All dancers are invited to attend camps/intensives
Camps/intensives are mandatory for ALL competition team dancers to attend
Full payment is required by competition team dancers for all camps/intensives—regardless of attendance
COURTESY & CODE OF CONDUCT
No gossip, bullying, or negativity—online or in person
Respect all instructors, peers, and staff
Parents/guardians are expected to model sportsmanship
Violations may result in removal from routines or the team
DRESS CODE
Mini Classes
Black leotard with pink tights for all classes.
Hair must be in a bun for ballet and pulled back tightly and neatly for all other classes.
Junior / Senior Classes
Black dancewear (leotard, sports bra, shorts, or leggings).
Thursday Exception: Optional color is allowed, but a leotard and tights are still required for ballet class.

General
Dancers must have the proper shoes for each class.
Failure to follow the dress code may result in the teacher asking the dancer to sit out until the correct attire is worn.
FDA Competition Logo Jackets must be purchased this season
Jackets must be worn to and from competitions and on stage for awards

COMPETITION TEAM FINANCIAL COMMITMENT
Tuition billed at competitive team rate
Team Fee must be paid in full by due date
Competition fees must be paid in full by deadlines (cash/check only)
Additional costs: costumes, travel, extra rehearsals, privates, guest choreographers, apparel, performance fees
Late fees apply; after 3 months unpaid, dancer may observe but not participate
WITHDRAWAL POLICY & RECHOREOGRAPHY FEE
30-day written notice required to withdraw (email:FalmouthDance.Staff@gmail.com)
$250 per routine fee charged if a dancer quits or is removed to cover choreographic changes/restructuring
COMPETITIONS & CONVENTIONS
Full competition season runs September - July
Events can include Regional Competitions, Nationals, Worlds and Conventions. Dates and Venues are subject to change beyond our control.
All scheduled competitions/conventions are mandatory unless marked as optional
All mandatory dates will be sent at the start of the season; additional optional opportunities may arise
Events may span multiple days; dancers must be available until final schedule is released
Attendance on stage during Awards is mandatory
Competitions are not drop-off events; an adult must be present with each dancer. If your dancer is attending with someone other than their guardian, please notify studio staff by emailing Falmouthdance.staff@gmail.com clearly stating the following:

COACHING FEES
To cover teacher travel, lodging, food, and event-day support:
Regional: $50 per event
Nationals: $100 per event
No coaching fee for optional regionals
Rob and Grace will attend all non-optional regionals and nationals
OPTIONAL COMPETITIONS
To request participation in an optional regional, email FDACompetitionTeam@gmail.com, AND CC FalmouthDance.Staff@gmail.com listing the event you are interested in
Optional competitions are subject to teacher availability
Coaching fees are not charged for optional regionals
EXTRA GROUPS
Extra groups not on the weekly schedule will rehearse twice a month on Sundays
Sunday schedule will be provided before season start
No additional fee— scheduled Sundays included in tuition
Rehearsal fee for any additional Sunday—regardless of attendance
EXTRA CLASSES & SPECIALTY ROUTINES
All dancers must participate in assigned large group routines to be eligible for small groups
Participation in a small group is required before being invited to a duet, trio, or solo
$25 per specialty rehearsal (paid whether or not attended)
Guest choreographers are paid directly by the dancer/family
Solo/Duet/Trio Monthly Pricing (Sept 1 – June 1) — Payments must be made directly to choreographers by the 1st of each month:
Solo: $160/month
Duet: $140 per dancer/month
Trio: $120 per dancer/month
Late payments may result in suspension of rehearsals until the account is current
SOLO/DUO/TRIO SCHEDULES
Weekly solo schedules will be posted August 25
Rehearsals begin the week of September 15
