RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR PULASKI DANCE PRODUCTIONS
1. Watching Class
a. Parents and friends of current students are not permitted to stay and watch class. Having visitors during class is a distraction, especially to the little ones. Parent observation is welcome during dress rehearsals for shows. Parent observation and bring a friend days may be scheduled.
2. Attendance Policy
a. Tuition is not pro-rated due to personal excused or unexcused absences.
b. Similar to the public school policy, attendance will be taken daily; if a student misses more than three (3) unexcused classes in a semester then the student will not be eligible to perform in the upcoming show.
c. The first semester is defined as the first day of classes to the date of the winter recital. The second semester is defined as the classes after the winter recital to the date of the spring recital.
d. Mandatory practice dates for recitals, competitions, or other scheduled performances are non-negotiable except in cases of immediate family death, a signed doctor’s excuse, or by permission of the director at least one week prior to the scheduled absence. Failure to attend even one of the mandatory dates without the aforementioned excuse(s) will result in exclusion from the upcoming performance.
e. Competition Team Attendance: No more than three (3) unexcused absences PER YEAR.
f. PDP and its staff strongly urge parents and guardians: do not keep your children from class as a form of punishment. Punishing your child this way is also punishing the studio, staff, and other dancers. The class is held back because they cannot progress in a group dance without the entire group present and the child is held back because he or she is not present to learn. They cannot learn proper technique, terminology and develop artistry when they are not present at practice.
g. If a student is ill and contagious please keep him or her at home and present a doctor’s note at the next class period they attend. A non-life threatening injury, simply feeling bad, fighting a cold or allergies, a stomach ache, etc. is not an acceptable excuse to miss class. Discipline is learned and required to excel in anything. Much can be learned by watching and listening if the dancer is not able to physically participate.
h. Other extra-curricular activities including sports (practices/games), school or civic affiliated clubs and/or organizations, vacations, and/or social functions or gatherings are not considered excused absences without permission by the director/instructor at least one week prior to these events occurring.
i. If a student cannot participate in an event (because of reoccurring unexcused absences) or elects to quit PDP, all fees are final and no refund will be given. This non-refundable policy extends but is not limited to any fees paid for tuition, performances, private instruction, competitions, and/or costumes and supplies.
3. Behavioral and Etiquette Policy
a. Be courteous, kind and supportive to your classmates and your teacher. Dance is a lifelong learning process and everyone has something to improve. Dance is no fun when others are being mean!
b. No talking during instructional time. If the student has a question about what the class is doing, they may raise their hand and ask. One warning for excessive talking will be given. If it continues, the student(s) will be made to sit out and observe the rest of the class.
c. No running around the studio, rough housing, or bullying. One warning will be given for these behaviors. If it continues, the student will be made to sit out and observe the rest of the class. Any reported or observed bullying will be addressed with the parents immediately.
d. Students will not touch the mirrors, Barres, props/costumes or acro equipment unless instructed to do so. Unsupervised use of these items may result in injury and/or damage to the studio. Keep your hands to yourself at all times.
e. Ample water and bathroom breaks will be given. If a student needs to use the restroom, they may raise their hand and ask and do so quietly.
f. No gum, candy, or food permitted in the studio. Only water is permitted. Snacks may be permitted on long rehearsal days or for children with medical need. Notice will be given when this is acceptable.
g. Do not bring toys or anything non-essential for dance instruction to class. This is distracting and will be taken by your instructor.
h. Cell phones may be brought in the studio however they must be on silent and in the student’s bag. The student may use his or her phone in the event of an emergency and/or only with permission. NO SELFIES OR SOCIAL MEDIA USE. The instructor has a phone and charger at all times and each student is welcome to use it in case of an emergency.
4. Tuition/Fees
a. Tuition and fees will be accepted by automatic draft via Dance Studio Pro or cash payment. Tuition is due at the first class of each month. Private class tuition will be billed separately.

d. The costume deposit will be $50.00 per child per year. Please note that with older students, costumes may cost more due to the number of dances or classes taken. All parents will receive costume information with amount due to the studio or an amount that will be refunded via tuition credit.
e. Costumes cannot be returned. All costumes will be ordered, inspected and fitted by PDP staff. After the costumes and accessories are distributed and taken home it is the parents’ responsibility to make sure they remain in like-new condition.
