*Student Policies 2025/2026*

Please read each policy and by accepting the waiver you indicate that you have read and understood each policy.

Registration/Recital Fee: Classes are filled on a first come first serve basis. A $50 individual or $60 family non-refundable registration fee is due at the time you register for classes. When you register for class, you also pay the $75 non-refundable recital fee.

Tuition: Tuition is divided into nine equal payments. The payment remains the same regardless of absences, holidays, weather cancellations, and/or recital dates. Tuition is due on the 1st of each month and late after the 10th of the month regardless of weekends, cancellations, or holidays. After the 10th an additional $15.00 late fee must be paid. Your first payment is due the first week of class.

Payment Methods: Online Parent Portal, Check, or Cash. If handing in Check or Cash please place in envelope with the child’s name and what you are paying. Any fee paid is non-refundable unless circumstances are seen fit by the owner.

Non Sufficient Funds (NSF): Any NSF authorization will result in the NSF fee of $40.00."

Costumes: Costumes must be paid in full prior to the date ordered, November 20th. Costume fee is $90.00 per class (occasionally the total cost could exceed the $90 if so you will be notified) . 25% of costume deposit is due by October 15th with the total balance due by November 15th. Note: Any class dropped after November 15th, the costume fee is non-refundable and non-returnable.

Students: All students are to remain inside the building at all times. Rising Starz Dance Academy is not responsible for unsupervised students. It is the parent’s responsibility to have the student on time, dressed with appropriate dance attire and shoes, as well as picked up promptly after class.
Attendance: Attendance is required as absences affect the entire class/routine. Please call if your child is sick and cannot attend. Students missing more than 9 classes will be excluded from performing in the recital. All students are expected to participate in class unless they have a written note explaining why they should observe and not participate. Perfect attendance certificates will be given out at recital to all students with no more than 2 absences.
Holidays: Rising Starz will observe the same holidays as the Lenoir County Schools for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter vacations. Rising Starz Dance Academy will remain open for teacher workdays unless otherwise notified.

Inclement Weather: Classes may be canceled for inclement weather. Announcements of closings will be sent through group message and posted on the facebook page. There will be no adjustments in fees or classes.

Communication
Reminders, information, etc. will be sent email or group messages. Please check them regularly. The main source of parental communication is through email. It is extremely important that you provide an email address that you check often, so not to miss out on important student/class/recital information.

Awards
Students will receive awards for 1st, 3rd, 5th, 7th, 10th, and 12th year of dance. Perfect attendance certificates will be given out at recital to all students with no more than 2 absences.

Dance Attire
No jeans. Students are expected to come to class in dance clothes, proper shoes, and hair away from the face.

The “NO” Rule: No gum; No Dangling Jewelry; No Food/Candy/Drink in dance area.


Dear Dancers and/or Parent (or Guardian),
We put safety as one of our top priorities, and we will strive to ensure each dancer’s safety. However, accidents happen, which are sometimes beyond our control. We are asking each dancer (or parent/guardian) to sign the following liability waiver form.

I/We realize participation in dance could involve possible personal injury. Despite precautions, accidents and injuries could occur. By signing this release form, I/We (the dancer and/or the parent/guardian) assume all risks related to the use of any and all spaces/facilities/equipment used by Rising Starz. I/We agree to release and hold harmless Rising Starz, including its owner, instructors, its staff members and volunteers as well as the facilities used by Rising Starz from any cause of action, claims, or demands of any nature whatsoever, now and in the future. Rising Starz is not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged personal property. I/We will not hold Rising Starz liable for any personal injury, which may occur on the premises/equipment used during the classes/performances. Furthermore, we agree to obey the class and facility rules and take full responsibility for any damage I/We may cause to the facilities in use by Rising Starz. In the event I/We should observe any unsafe personal conduct or condition during classes, I/We agree to report the unsafe conduct or condition to the staff member as soon as possible.
