TUITION
Tuition may be paid by cash, check payable to DANCE CENTRE, credit/debit cards, or Auto Pay through our studio management software. Tuition is due on the 1st of the month. A late fee will be added to your tuition is it is not paid by the 15th of the month.
All tuition is priced annually for a 10 month dance season (September to June). You have your choice of an Annual payment with a 5% discount or Monthly installments.
NO REFUNDS.
AUTOPAY
AutoPay will run on the 1st of each month. You may pay your tuition by cash, check or alternate credit card in advance of the 1st to avoid AutoPay charges to your card.
STUDENT PLACEMENT
Proper placement in dance classes will be enforced. A student will be placed in the proper class during the month of September. Placement will be solely at the discretion of the Director and teachers. Students that have previous training will be evaluated and placed in a class with other students who have achieved the same level of technique. A class may be canceled if enrollment falls below five students. Age requirements for classes are as of September of the upcoming dance year.
COSTUMES (recreational dancers)
Your costume deposit of $65 per costume, is due by November 15th. All remaining balances, including shipping and handling fees, are due by February 15th. Once a costume is ordered, the balance must be paid whether or not the student continues classes or participates in the recital.
RECITAL
An annual recital will be held at the close of the school year. Participation is voluntary. Our recital offers the student a chance to display their achievements over the past 10 months. Each family will receive a $75 recital fee charge on 10/1 of the current year. This fee covers a recital video and t-shirt. Your account must be up-to-date in order for your child to participate in the June Recital.
PHOTO RELEASE
As a registered student, you are granting permission for Dance Centre to take photos and/or videos of the students to use for brochures, websites, posters, advertisements and other promotional material the school creates. Permission is also granted for the school to copyright such photographs/videos in its name.
INJURIES
Upon registration you are hereby acknowledging your child is physically able to participate in strenuous activity and have consulted your physician if necessary. Parents, legal guardians of minors, students and adult students waive the right to any legal action for any injury sustained on school property resulting from normal dance activity or any other activity conducted by the students before, during, or after class time.
2026–2027 Competition Team Policies
The Dance Centre of the Hamptons Competition Team is designed for dancers who demonstrate
dedication, teamwork, discipline, and a passion for dance. Team membership is a year-long
commitment that provides opportunities for advanced training, performance, personal growth,
and competitive excellence.
Commitment
Competition Team members commit to the full dance season (September 2026 through July
2027). Placement on the team is based on instructor recommendation and acceptance of all
competition team policies.
Attendance
Consistent attendance is essential to the success of every team member.
• Attendance at all scheduled classes, rehearsals, competitions, conventions, performances,
and special events is expected.
• Excessive absences or repeated tardiness may affect choreography, casting, competition
eligibility, or team placement.
• Families should notify the studio as soon as possible if an absence is unavoidable.
• Mandatory rehearsals may not be missed except in cases of illness or family emergency.
Required Classes
Competition dancers must remain enrolled in all required technique and choreography classes
throughout the season. Failure to maintain required training may result in removal from routines
or the competition team.
Conduct
Competition Team members are expected to represent Dance Centre of the Hamptons with
professionalism, respect, and integrity.
All dancers and families are expected to:
• Demonstrate kindness and respect toward teammates, instructors, judges, studio staff, and
other studios.
• Exhibit good sportsmanship at all events.
• Support fellow dancers and contribute to a positive team environment.
• Follow all studio rules and competition guidelines.
Bullying, inappropriate behavior, disrespectful communication, or unsportsmanlike conduct may
result in disciplinary action, including removal from the Competition Team.
Dress Code
Competition dancers are expected to arrive prepared for every class and rehearsal wearing the
required dance attire with hair secured according to instructor expectations. Proper shoes and
accessories must be worn for each class.
Competitions & Conventions
Competition schedules are established by the studio and are considered mandatory for all team
members participating in each routine.
Families are responsible for:
• Arriving on time
• Following all competition schedules
• Maintaining costumes and accessories
• Demonstrating professionalism throughout the event
Financial Policies
Competition Team participation represents a significant commitment for both dancers and
families. To help make participation accessible, Dance Centre of the Hamptons offers flexible
monthly payment plans.
Families may:
• Pay tuition and competition fees in full, or
• Enroll in an approved monthly payment plan.
Payment plans are provided as a convenience and must remain current throughout the season.
Withdrawal Policy
Competition Team membership is a season-long commitment. Withdrawal from the team after
choreography has begun may result in continued financial responsibility for tuition, costumes,
choreography, and competition fees that have already been committed on the dancer’s behalf.
Photography & Media
Dance Centre of the Hamptons may photograph or record classes, rehearsals, performances, and
competitions for promotional and educational purposes unless a written request is submitted to
the Studio Director.
Injury & Illness
If a dancer becomes injured, families should notify the studio immediately. Every effort will be
made to accommodate recovery while maintaining team responsibilities whenever appropriate.
Competition Eligibility
Participation on the Dance Centre of the Hamptons Competition Team is a privilege that requires
each dancer and family to remain in good standing throughout the season.
To be eligible to participate in competitions, conventions, performances, rehearsals, and other
Competition Team events, dancers must:
• Maintain consistent attendance and actively participate in all required classes and
rehearsals.
• Demonstrate respectful behavior, positive sportsmanship, and adherence to the
Competition Team Code of Conduct.
• Comply with all studio policies, including dress code, rehearsal expectations, and
communication guidelines.
• Maintain a current account with the studio, including tuition, competition fees, costume
fees, choreography fees, convention fees, and any other required charges.
• Fulfill the Competition Team fundraising expectation by participating in a minimum of
two (2) studio-sponsored fundraising events during the season or completing an
alternative contribution requirement approved by the Studio Director.
Students with outstanding financial balances will not be permitted to participate in competitions,
conventions, performances, rehearsals, or special events until their account has been brought
current. All competition-related fees must be paid in full prior to each scheduled competition.
Families experiencing financial hardship are encouraged to contact the Studio Director before
payment due dates. Approved payment plans are available, and we are committed to working
with families who communicate proactively.
Failure to meet these eligibility requirements may result in temporary suspension from
Competition Team activities or, when necessary, removal from the Competition Team at the
discretion of the Studio Director.
Parent Partnership
Our Competition Team is successful because of the partnership between dancers, instructors, and
families. We ask parents to support studio policies, encourage positive sportsmanship,
communicate respectfully, and help foster a welcoming environment for every dancer.
Studio Director's Discretion
Dance Centre of the Hamptons is committed to fostering a positive, respectful, and supportive
environment for every dancer and family. While these policies provide clear expectations,
circumstances may arise that require individual consideration.
The Studio Director reserves the right to interpret, amend, or make exceptions to these policies
when deemed appropriate and in the best interest of the dancer, the Competition Team, and the
studio community. Decisions regarding team placement, choreography, participation, eligibility,
disciplinary action, and policy enforcement are made at the sole discretion of the Studio Director
and are considered final.
