📸 Photo & Video Consent
At The Marilyn Jones Dance Centre (MJDC), we occasionally take photos and videos during classes and events for use in our marketing, social media, website, printed materials, and educational resources.
If you do not wish for your child to appear in any promotional content, please email us at marilynjonesdancecentre@gmail.com. We’ll ensure your child is added to our “Do Not Photograph” list and excluded from shared media.

💳 Tuition & Payment
• Tuition fees are due on the 1st of each month.
• Payments made after the 10th will incur a £10 late fee.
• Tuition and registration fees are non-refundable. Refunds will not be given for missed classes due to illness, holidays, or weather.
• Students joining partway through a month will only be charged for the remaining classes.
• In the rare event that a class is cancelled by MJDC, we will try to transfer the student to another suitable class. If that’s not possible, a refund will be issued.
Payment Methods:
• Payments must be made through our secure online portal.
• We recommend setting up Auto Pay to avoid late fees.
⸻
❌ Withdrawing from Classes
If your child needs to withdraw from a class, please email marilynjonesdancecentre@gmail.com. Tuition will be charged up to the date we receive notice.
Refunds are not given for missed classes. Exceptional circumstances will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
⸻
📝 Registration Fee
A £10 non-refundable registration fee is required for all new students.
⸻
⚖️ Liability Waiver
By attending MJDC, you confirm that you/your child is physically able to take part in classes and activities. Participation is at your own risk.
MJDC and its staff are not liable for injuries or incidents that occur during participation.
Please inform us of any medical conditions or injuries before your child attends class.
⸻
👶 MINI MIX & MINI TRIX Classes
One parent or guardian must remain in class with their child at all times.
Siblings may attend but must not disrupt the session.
⸻
🎭 Exams & Shows
• Students who are ready may be invited to take part in IDTA exams and MJDC Showtimes.
• Additional fees apply for exam entries, costumes, and extra rehearsals.
• Exam participation is based on individual progress and readiness — not just past results or time spent in a grade.
⸻
💫 Code of Conduct
• Students should arrive on time, in correct uniform, and attend regularly.
• Uniform is available from our online store (via the portal).
• Dance shoes can be purchased from Move Dancewear or Dancewear Central.
• Hair must be in a bun, especially for ballet and acro.
• In class, students are expected to listen carefully and limit unnecessary talking.
• If a student is disruptive, they may be asked to sit out.
⸻
🤝 Teacher Contact Policy
On occasion, teachers may use gentle physical contact to help correct posture or support safe movement understanding.
⸻
🎒 Personal Belongings
MJDC is not responsible for any lost or damaged property.
Any items left behind will be placed in lost property. Items unclaimed by the end of each half term will be donated to charity.
🌟 External Dance Opportunities
If your child is interested in taking part in auditions, workshops, performances, or associate schemes, please inform MJDC before signing up.
This helps us to:
• Avoid scheduling conflicts with MJDC classes, rehearsals, or events.
• Ensure there is no conflict of interest with other studios or training commitments.
• Support your child’s development holistically, ensuring additional training complements (rather than compromises) their progress with us.
We’re always happy to support students in pursuing outside opportunities — we just ask that you keep us in the loop so we can guide and advise in the best interest of each dancer’s training and wellbeing.
