Zion Dance Studio - Participation Agreement and Risk Acknowledgement

By enrolling in Zion Dance Studio classes and ticking the agreement box during registration, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms below on behalf of yourself and the enrolled student.

1. Participation in Classes and Activities
Dance classes and related activities involve physical movement and physical contact, and there is an inherent risk of injury. This may include strains, sprains, falls, and other minor or more serious injuries.

This agreement applies to all classes, rehearsals, performances, competitions, events, and other activities run by or on behalf of Zion Dance Studio.

2. Medical and Health Information
By registering, you confirm that, to the best of your knowledge, the student is medically fit to participate in dance activities.

You agree to inform Zion Dance Studio of any injury, medical condition, allergy, disability, or other issue that may affect the student’s ability to safely take part in classes or activities.

You also agree to let the studio know if the student becomes unwell or injured during the year and this may affect their participation.

3. Acknowledgement of Risk
You understand and accept that participation in dance activities involves inherent risks, even when reasonable care is taken.

By enrolling, you acknowledge these risks and accept them to the extent permitted by New Zealand law.

4. Studio Care and Safety
Zion Dance Studio will take reasonable care to provide a safe environment, suitable instruction, and appropriate supervision during studio activities.

Students must follow teacher instructions, use equipment safely, and behave in a way that does not put themselves or others at risk.

5. Right to Refuse or Stop Participation
Zion Dance Studio may refuse, limit, or stop a student’s participation in any class or activity if staff reasonably believe that participation may be unsafe for the student or for others.

This includes situations involving injury, illness, unsafe behaviour, or failure to follow instructions.

6. Emergency Medical Treatment
If the student is injured or becomes unwell and a parent or guardian cannot be contacted promptly, you authorise Zion Dance Studio to arrange appropriate first aid, medical treatment, or emergency assistance as reasonably necessary.

Any medical or related costs remain the responsibility of the student or parent/guardian.

7. Limitation of Liability
To the extent permitted by New Zealand law, you agree that Zion Dance Studio is not responsible for injury, loss, or damage arising from the inherent risks of participating in dance and related activities.

Nothing in this agreement is intended to exclude, limit, or modify any rights or obligations that cannot legally be excluded under New Zealand law.

9. Agreement
By ticking the agreement box during registration, you confirm that:

you are authorised to enrol the student

the information you have provided is true and correct to the best of your knowledge

you have read and understood this agreement

you agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and the enrolled student
