GDC REGISTRATION POLICIES & PARENT/GUARDIAN AGREEMENT
By registering a dancer with Griesbach Dance Company (“GDC”), I acknowledge that I am the parent/legal guardian of the participating minor, or I am an adult participant, and I have read, understood and agree to the following policies.
REGISTRATION & SESSION COMMITMENT
Registration for a full dance session is a commitment to the entire session. A dancer’s place in a class is reserved upon registration and may prevent GDC from offering that space to another family.
Families are responsible for reviewing the class description, age requirements, schedule, tuition and applicable policies before completing registration.
TRIAL CLASSES
GDC offers designated paid trial classes for families who would like their dancer to experience a class before committing to a full session.
A paid trial class and a full-session registration are separate purchases. Families wishing to try a class before committing to the session are responsible for selecting and purchasing the trial-class option rather than registering for the full session.
Registering and paying for a full session does not constitute a trial registration. Attending one or more classes after registering for a full session does not convert the registration into a trial class or create an entitlement to a refund.
TUITION, REGISTRATION FEES & REFUNDS
Registration fees are non-refundable.
Once a session has begun, tuition paid for a full-session registration is non-refundable, except where otherwise required by applicable law.
Choosing to discontinue participation after the session begins does not automatically entitle the family to a full or partial refund for classes not attended.
When circumstances warrant, GDC may, at its discretion, offer a transfer to another suitable class or an account credit. The availability and amount of any transfer or credit will be determined by GDC based on the circumstances and does not create an entitlement to a cash refund.
MISSED CLASSES & ATTENDANCE
Tuition reserves the dancer’s place in the registered class for the session. Refunds, credits or prorated tuition are not provided for classes missed because of personal scheduling conflicts, vacations, illness, transportation issues or a dancer’s decision not to attend, except where otherwise required by law or expressly approved by GDC.
Where appropriate and space permits, GDC may offer an alternative class or other accommodation at its discretion; however, make-up classes are not guaranteed.
CLASS SCHEDULES, INSTRUCTORS & CANCELLATIONS
GDC reserves the right to make reasonable changes to instructors, assistants, class schedules, class locations or programming when necessary.
If GDC must cancel a class, GDC may provide a make-up class, alternative arrangement, account credit or other reasonable remedy depending on the circumstances. Instructor substitutions or reasonable programming changes do not, by themselves, constitute cancellation of a registered session.
DANCER-ONLY CLASSES & PARENT/GUARDIAN VIEWING
GDC classes are dancer-only unless a GDC instructor or staff member specifically invites a parent/guardian into the studio.
Parents, guardians and siblings may observe through the designated studio viewing windows where available. Parents/guardians must not enter the studio during class, interrupt instruction, coach dancers from outside the studio or otherwise interfere with the learning environment unless requested by GDC staff.
GDC understands that some dancers may occasionally require additional support. Any necessary accommodation or temporary parent involvement should be discussed privately with GDC so that an appropriate arrangement can be considered.
DROP-OFF, PICK-UP & SUPERVISION
Parents/guardians are responsible for ensuring dancers arrive appropriately for class and are picked up promptly when class ends.
GDC’s responsibility for supervision applies during the dancer’s scheduled class or GDC activity and does not extend to unsupervised time in mall/common areas before or after class.
Parents/guardians remain responsible for supervising siblings and other children who are not participating in a GDC class.
PARENT/GUARDIAN CODE OF CONDUCT
GDC welcomes questions, concerns and constructive feedback. Families are not expected to agree with every studio decision; however, all communication with GDC owners, instructors, assistants, staff, dancers and other families must remain respectful and appropriate.
Concerns regarding an instructor, class, dancer or studio policy should be communicated privately through an appropriate GDC communication channel rather than addressed during class time, in front of dancers or other families, or in a manner that disrupts a class or the studio environment.
Parents/guardians must not confront, intimidate, harass or engage in abusive, threatening or discriminatory behaviour toward GDC staff, dancers or other families.
GDC may take reasonable steps to address conduct that materially disrupts classes, compromises safety or creates an inappropriate environment. Depending on the circumstances, this may include requesting that an individual leave the studio area or, in serious or repeated cases, ending a family’s participation, subject to applicable law and any appropriate financial adjustment.
STUDIO & FACILITY EXPECTATIONS
Dancers and accompanying family members are expected to treat GDC’s studio, equipment and surrounding facilities respectfully and to follow reasonable instructions provided by GDC staff.
Because GDC operates within a shared commercial environment, families are also expected to behave respectfully in common areas and comply with applicable facility rules.
COMMUNICATION & ACCOUNT INFORMATION
Parents/guardians are responsible for keeping their contact information, emergency information and other relevant account information current.
Families are responsible for reviewing important GDC communications relating to their dancer’s classes, schedule changes, closures, performances and other applicable studio information.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
By electronically accepting this agreement, I confirm that I have read and understood the GDC Registration Policies & Parent/Guardian Agreement and agree to comply with these policies.
I understand that GDC’s paid trial-class option is separate from full-session registration, that registering for a full session constitutes a commitment to that session, and that the refund and withdrawal terms above apply once the session has begun.
Nothing in this agreement is intended to waive or limit any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be waived or limited under applicable law.
