DCM ACROBATICS CODE OF CONDUCT
At DCM Acrobatics, we want every student and family to feel safe, respected, supported and welcome. Our Code of Conduct outlines the standards we expect from all students, parents, carers and staff to ensure DCM remains a positive and enjoyable environment for everyone.
Our DCM values guide everything we do:
Respectful & Courteous | Attentive & Committed | Kind with a Positive Can-Do Attitude | Enthusiastic & Persistent
We are always open to feedback and encourage families to contact us if anything is unclear or if you have a concern. Following appropriate discussion and, where necessary, a formal meeting, DCM reserves the right to take disciplinary action or discontinue enrolment where a serious or ongoing breach of this Code of Conduct occurs.
FEES & PAYMENT OBLIGATIONS
Families are responsible for paying all enrolment, tuition, production and other applicable fees by the required due dates.
Fees are payable regardless of attendance unless otherwise agreed by DCM.
Late payments may incur a late fee.
Where fees remain unpaid, DCM reserves the right to restrict participation in classes, performances, events or future enrolment until payment obligations have been met.
ATTENDANCE & ABSENCES
Regular attendance is important for student progress, skill development and, particularly, choreography and performance preparation.
All absences must be recorded through the DCM Parent Portal/CRM as soon as possible.
During concert and performance preparation, attendance is especially important as missed choreography and rehearsals can affect the student and their team.
If a student is going to be absent for an important rehearsal or event, parents should notify DCM as early as possible through the appropriate DCM communication channel.
CLASSES & STUDIO ENVIRONMENT
Classes and teachers are not to be disturbed unless there is an emergency.
Parents and carers must not approach teachers or students during class time.
If a message, food, drink, medication or other item needs to be passed to a student, this must be arranged with a DCM staff member before class or through the appropriate DCM procedure.
Parents and carers must remain in designated waiting areas or outside the studio until classes have been dismissed, unless participating in a class where parent participation is required.
Students are expected to listen to their teachers, follow instructions, participate appropriately and contribute to a safe and positive learning environment.
Students must treat teachers, staff, volunteers and fellow students with respect and courtesy.
DROP-OFF & COLLECTION
DCM cannot take responsibility for students before or after their scheduled class time.
Parents and carers are responsible for ensuring students are dropped off and collected on time.
If an unexpected delay or emergency occurs, please contact DCM as soon as possible so we can support and supervise your child until they can be collected.
COMMUNICATION & CONCERNS
We encourage open and respectful communication.
Questions, concerns or complaints should be directed to the Studio Principal, Kylie Tonellato, rather than discussed with teachers, students or other families.
Personal meetings can be arranged where required.
Families are encouraged to use the DCM Parent Portal/CRM and designated DCM communication channels for routine information, attendance, updates and enquiries.
Concerns should not be raised during class time or in front of students, other families or staff.
We ask that all communication with DCM staff remains respectful and constructive, even when there is a disagreement.
RESPECT, BULLYING & UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIOUR
DCM has a zero-tolerance approach to bullying, harassment, intimidation and threatening behaviour.
Physical, verbal, mental, emotional or cyber bullying of students, parents, staff or volunteers will not be tolerated.
This includes, but is not limited to:
Aggressive, threatening or intimidating behaviour
Harassment or repeated inappropriate communication
Publicly humiliating or targeting another student, parent or staff member
Discriminatory or abusive language
Spreading malicious or knowingly false information
Online bullying or harassment
Encouraging others to participate in inappropriate behaviour
Where serious or ongoing behaviour occurs, DCM may require a formal meeting and may take disciplinary action, including suspension or termination of enrolment, at the discretion of the Studio Principal.
SOCIAL MEDIA, PHOTOGRAPHY & PRIVACY
We ask all members of the DCM community to use social media responsibly and respectfully.
Concerns or complaints about DCM, staff, students or families should be raised directly with DCM rather than through social media or public online forums.
Students, parents and families must not use social media to target, criticise, harass, embarrass or make defamatory comments about DCM students, families, staff or volunteers.
Families must respect the privacy of other students and must not post photographs or videos of other students without appropriate permission.
DCM photography and video policies, including permissions provided during enrolment, must be respected.
DCM choreography, routines and other studio content must not be reproduced, distributed or used publicly without permission.
DCM PROPERTY & PERSONAL BELONGINGS
DCM takes no responsibility for lost, stolen or misplaced personal belongings on studio premises.
Families are encouraged to avoid bringing valuable or unnecessary items to classes.
Students should ensure personal belongings are clearly labelled and kept safely in designated areas where available.
CHANGES TO CLASSES & STAFF
DCM management reserves the right to make reasonable changes to teachers, class structures, timetables, venues or programs where necessary throughout the year.
Every effort will be made to communicate significant changes to families as soon as reasonably possible.
DCM INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY
DCM choreography, routines, teaching materials, costuming owned by DCM, branding, studio resources and other original DCM content remain the intellectual property of DCM.
These materials may not be copied, reproduced, distributed, taught, sold or used commercially by students, parents or staff without prior permission from the Studio Principal.
SAFETY & WELLBEING
All members of the DCM community have a responsibility to contribute to a safe environment.
Students must follow teacher instructions and studio safety procedures at all times.
Any injury, medical concern, incident or safety issue should be reported to a DCM staff member as soon as possible.
Families are responsible for ensuring DCM has accurate and up-to-date emergency contact and relevant student information through the Parent Portal.
OUR DCM COMMUNITY
DCM is a community, and we all play a part in making it a positive place to learn and grow.
We expect every member of our community to demonstrate our DCM values:
Respectful & Courteous
Attentive & Committed
Kind with a Positive Can-Do Attitude
Enthusiastic & Persistent
By enrolling at DCM Acrobatics, families acknowledge and agree to support these expectations and contribute to a safe, respectful and positive environment for all.
Thank you for helping us make DCM a place where every student can learn, grow, perform and belong. 💜
