POLICIES
Payment Methods
Tuition is due on or before the 1st of every month.
For your convenience, we offer three methods of payment to choose from:
1. Automatic payment on your credit card with a 3% convenience fee.
2. Automatic payment from your checking account with no convenience fee.
3. Cash or check payment prior to the first of the month, with a valid credit card or checking account on file. As long as your payment is made by prior to the 1st of the month, your account or card will not be charged.
Membership Fee
In addition to your student's class registration, enrollment on our Membership Site is also required. The Membership Site will be your go-to place for all the info you will need toget the most out of your time at EMC Performing Arts Studio, plus lots of videos, tutorials, bonuses and perks. The monthly Membership Site subscription fee will be applied directly to your online family portal.
Tuition
Tuition is based on a per lesson rate, specific to the class(es) you enroll in. This rate is multiplied by the total number
of lessons offered from the time you start until the end of
our billing year: Sept-June (Dance Technique Program) or Sept-Aug (Kreative Kids Dance, Music, Theater, Gymnastics). If you enroll midyear, your tuition is prorated to reflect your individual start date. The total yearly tuition is then divided into monthly payments equal to the number of months in your year PLUS ONE MONTH (not to exceed 12 months). This extra payment is the DEPOSIT. It is NOT an additional charge. We are dividing the total tuition into more payments than there are months. For example, if you are going to attend classes from Sept-Mar, we will take your total tuition and divide it into eight payments: Deposit, Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec, Jan, Feb, Mar. If you start in January and end in June, your total tuition will be divided into seven payments: Deposit, Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, June. You are not charged for classes during scheduled closings.
Perpetual Enrollment
Kreative Kids Dance, Music, Theater and Gymnastics are offered on a perpetual basis. This means that the sessions don’t end, they continue from month to month, perpetually. You may end your lessons at any time, by following our withdrawal policy.
If you do not withdraw, your enrollment will be automatically renewed in July for the next year. Your monthly payments will be recalculated, the Annual Membership Fee will be added and you will be sent an invoice. If your child is promoted to the next skill level, we will notify you of the schedule change at this time. No action is needed on your part to continue your perpetual enrollment.
Insufficient Funds Fee
A Fee of $30.00 will be charged for insufficient funds.
Withdrawal
Nonattendance does not constitute withdrawal from our program. We contract our teachers based on your registration, not based on your attendance and we need advanced notice to process your withdrawal.
If you wish to discontinue your classes, we require 60 days written notice of withdrawal. This can be via email or a letter submitted to the front desk. Students may continue to attend lessons for the 60 day period, or may try another group class in any discipline.
Summer Camps/Classes
Additional classes and camps are added to the schedule in the summer. If you wish to add a Summer Camp or Class, registration begins in March. If you are simply continuing your perpetual enrollment throughout the summer, and not adding anything new, your monthly payments will remain the same and no action is needed on your part.
Referrals
We will happily credit the account of any student who refers a NEW TO EMC family to our program. When the family registers and pays, we will credit the referring student $25 for a Summer student or $50 for a yearlong student. The referral credit may take up to 90 days to post to your account.
Discounts
A Family Discount of 5% will be applied to the second and third student with the lowest yearly tuition. Family discounts do not apply to Private Music Lessons, Drop-ins or Summer Session. Discounts on Summer Camps are available for those who register early.
Drop-ins/Trial Lessons
Students who are unable to commit to attending class on
a regular basis may do so on a drop-in basis. Drop-in rates are slightly higher than the rates for those who commit. Drop-in fees must be paid immediately after the lesson. DropAin students must complete a Registration Form and
a Release Form (Gymnastics) before they will be allowed
to attend class. One time drop-ins need not pay the Annual Membership Fee, however an Annual Membership Fee will be applied to students who drop-in for two or more classes.
Drop-in / Trial Lesson Rates:
Private music lesson: $35, / 30 minute group lesson: $20 / 45-60 minute group lesson: $25 / 90 minute group lesson: $35
Costumes
All performing dance students will need costumes for the Spring Concert. The fee is due in January and includes some new pieces that the dancers keep and some pieces from EMC’s extensive costume inventory that will be returned. EMC’s Costume Manager handles measuring, sizing, ordering, receiving, organizing, altering and fluffing of costumes and offers a single all-inclusive price that includes a full service experience.
Performance Fees
A Performance Fee is charged to all students who perform. This fee covers costume rentals for community performances, staff salaries for additional rehearsals, supplies, sound equipment, etc. A professional DVD is included with the Performance Fee for Pullo Center shows.
Makeup Lessons
We have a very flexible and generous makeup policy.
If a student misses a lesson for any reason, a makeup lesson can be scheduled in ANY discipline, and can even be transferred to another family member. For example, if your daughter misses her dance class, your son (who has been wanting to try theater) can do the makeup lesson in a theater class. Please schedule your makeup lesson at the front desk, or email kathyjones@danceEMC.com.
Snow Closings
If EMC deems it necessary to close due to weather related issues, we will post the cancellation on our Facebook Families Group and send a mass email. We will not call each student individually. If you opt out of emails and are not a member of the group on Facebook, you will not receive the notification. When we close due to weather or emergency, students may sign up for a makeup lesson as stated above.
Teacher Cancellations
If an EMC staff member has a professional conflict or illness and needs to cancel a lesson, we will try to find a suitable substitute to avoid changing your schedule. At EMC, we employ a team of capable and well-trained instructors and assistants. We do not guarantee individual teachers for specific classes, but we do promise to provide a qualified instructor at all times. We reserve the right to change instructors for any given class or lesson without notice. We are a Team at EMC and we all work together to provide a safe and nurturing environment that will challenge your child.
Refunds
Membership Fees, Tap Shoe Rental, Tuition, Performance Fees, Costumes and Tickets are nonrefundable.
