1. REGISTRATION FEE
A one-time, non-refundable registration fee of $25 per dancer is due at the time of registration. At the end of each season, all classes with enrolled students will automatically roll over to the next season. If you choose not to continue, you must notify the studio via text, email, or in person. If no notification is received, tuition and fees will continue to be applied to your account. Absence from class is not considered a means of dropping. Unpaid accounts may be subject to collections.
2. TUITION PAYMENT & ADJUSTMENTS
Monthly tuition is due on the 1st day of each month. Any tuition payment not received in full by the 10th day of the month shall incur a late fee equal to ten percent (10%) of the outstanding tuition balance. A $25.00 fee will be assessed for any returned or non-sufficient funds (NSF) payment.
If tuition and applicable fees are not paid in full by the 10th day of the following month, the dancer shall be suspended from participation in classes until the account is brought current. Any unpaid balance after the due date will accrue an interest fee of 2% per month, compounded monthly, until paid in full.
Tuition rates and all related fees are subject to change at the sole discretion of Mandi’s School of Dance, with or without prior notice.
To account for increases in operating costs, tuition shall be subject to an automatic annual cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) of two and one-half percent (2.5%), calculated based on the then-current tuition rate. This adjustment shall take effect on January 1 of each calendar year and shall apply to all active accounts without further approval or acknowledgment.
3. RECITAL COSTUMES & FEES
Recital costume fees typically range from $45–$120 per costume, with rare exceptions exceeding this amount. Most classes will be assigned one (1) costume. Studio-branded t-shirts may be available for purchase separately.
A recital participation fee of $110.00 per family will be assessed for each recital season, including both the Christmas and Spring recitals. This fee is charged once per family, regardless of the number of dancers participating. The recital fee includes one (1) recital t-shirt, admission to the recital, and a digital video recording of the entire performance.
All recital fees are non-refundable, including but not limited to withdrawals, absences, or failure to participate in the recital after fees have been assessed.
4. DRESS CODE
Dancers must arrive dressed appropriately for class, with hair pulled back if longer than chin length. Teachers reserve the right to have a dancer sit out if not in proper attire. Studio attire and recital requirements are outlined in the enclosed studio requirements page.
5. STUDIO ETIQUETTE
No street shoes, food, or gum are allowed in the dance studio. Water bottles are permitted. Please treat all furniture and studio property with respect; the studio is not a playground. Food is allowed in the waiting area only and must be cleaned up immediately. After a second written warning, a $50 cleanup fee will be assessed.
6. ATTENDANCE
Consistent attendance is essential for dancer progress. Poor attendance impacts class advancement and individual growth. The studio reserves the right to remove a dancer from a routine if attendance significantly affects progress. All fees are non-refundable.
If a dancer falls behind, private lessons at $70 per hour per week will be required to rejoin the dance.
7. MISSED CLASSES
No refunds are given for missed classes. If your dancer must miss class, please notify the studio. The studio observes the following holidays with no makeup classes or refunds: New Year’s Day, Easter weekend, July 4th, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Labor Day and Memorial Day weekends are optional attendance. Five snow days are built into the schedule; additional closures will be made up. The studio reserves up to three weeks per year for personal travel without makeup classes.
8. INJURIES
Injured dancers are expected to attend class to observe when possible. After the first occurrence, a doctor’s note is required. No tuition refunds will be issued due to injury.
9. CELL PHONES
Cell phones are not permitted during class and must remain in dance bags. Phones may be brought for emergency contact only.
10. BAD WEATHER
Student safety is our top priority. If weather conditions require closure, a mass text/email will be sent by 12:00 PM. It is the parent’s responsibility to monitor messages. We follow the Oskaloosa School District closures, so if they close or dismiss early, we will be closed for that day.
11. SUMMER SESSION
Summer classes begin the week following recital and conclude the last week of July. There is no summer recital. Classes focus on technique and short combinations.
12. ATTITUDES & BEHAVIOR
Bullying of any kind will not be tolerated. Teachers reserve the right to permanently remove any dancer engaging in bullying behavior.
13. SOLOS
Solo private lessons are available at a rate of $95 per month for a 20-minute private lesson. Availability is limited, and some solo opportunities may be offered by invitation only.
Each solo dancer will incur a separate costume fee, which typically ranges from $55–$300, with rare exceptions exceeding this amount.
A non-refundable choreography fee of $200 will be assessed for solos choreographed by Mandi or Tae Butler. Once a choreography fee has been paid, no refunds will be issued for any reason, including but not limited to withdrawal, scheduling conflicts, or failure to continue participation.
If it is determined that a dancer has not adequately learned or retained their solo choreography, the studio reserves the right to remove the solo from recital and/or performance, and all fees paid shall remain non-refundable. Attendance, personal accountability, and consistent at-home practice are required, as progress cannot be achieved solely within limited weekly lesson time.
