CANCELLATION POLICY:

There is a two-week trial period when you register to take a class at CSD. If you choose to withdraw your dancer from a class(es) within those two weeks, we will provide a refund, minus the $33.90 registration fee and the cost of the class(es) you attended. If a dancer feels that a class is not a good fit, we are happy to switch them to another class as long as it's age and level appropriate (at the discretion of the directors). However, when registering for classes, you commit to paying for the classes you signed up for from September until June. After the grace period has passed, we will only offer credits (no cash value) to your account. Credits do not expire and can be used toward any future classes. We do not provide credits for missed lessons, holidays, or inclement weather. This does not happen often, but every so often we have people who think we offer a pay as you go option. Let me be clear, we do not. If you sign up for one, one hour class, you are agreeing to pay $33.90 registration + $683.20 (for a 1 hour class) = $717.10 regardless if you decide to stop coming. If you decide you want to take advantage of our offer to pay monthly, and you stop coming, you are still responsible to pay.

Our year starts the week of September 9th, 2024 and ends May 31st, 2025. We have two locations: The first one is 900 Greenbank Road, in between the Food Basics and Rexall, the second is 35 Larkin Drive, right across the street. Our Main Office is in our Larkin location.

- Classes with low enrolment may be cancelled
- NO REFUNDS after the first 2 weeks of classes. Please see the office for options.
- NO REFUNDS for classes missed for circumstances beyond our control (e.g. inclement weather). Dancers are encouraged to make up a class if they miss one, at a comparable level. Please email the office to confirm the makeup class.
- Classes cancelled for other reasons (e.g. teacher is absent due to illness or other reasons), a makeup class will be scheduled.
- When a holiday falls on a regular class day, the class will NOT be made up, but the dancer is encouraged to make up the class by taking another at a comparable level. Please email the office to confirm the makeup class.

- Male discounts apply only to tuition fees. 50% off all styles/classes, with the exception of Hip Hop and Acro.

- Should your credit card or your payment information that you provided change during the duration of the registration agreement, you are responsible to make sure the office has the updated information before the first of the month.*

Payment options are as follows; You may pay in full or divide your payment over 10 months online. If you are paying over ten months the payments will run August-May. If you sign up later, you will be able to pay over the number of months left between then and May. For example, if you sign up in September, you will have 9 months to pay. If you sign up in October, you will have 8 months ending in May.

The annual Registration fee is $30+HST. due upon registration. (Maximum 1 per family)

*A $40.00 service charge will apply to all failed payments or payments that do not go through when we are processing payments. ie if your card is expired it will not go through and we have to stop and get in touch with you.

We would be grateful if you would fill in this form to give us permission to take photos of your child/dancer and use these in our printed and online publicity. I consent to the Canadian School of Dance using photographs and or video recordings including images of my above-mentioned dancer for both internally and externally to promote CSD. These images could be used in print or digital media formats including print publications, websites, e-marketing, posters, banners, advertising, film, social media.

If you want to opt out you need to go to waivers in your parent portal and opt out. We will be sent an email when you do so.

Our dance year finishes on Saturday, May 31st, 2025 for regular classes. EVERY RECREATIONAL CLASS WILL PARTICIPATE IN OUR YEAR END RECITAL, however, you may choose to not take part. All dancers are opted in to recital automatically, so please let the office know as soon as possible if you would not like for your child to participate. For those taking part in recital, there will be an extra cost for a recital costume, which will be chosen and ordered by the teacher (excluding most competitive classes and all Acro classes). Each costume ranges between $90-160. It is your responsibility to pay or withdraw from recital before November 1, 2024. An email will be sent out with instructions on how to measure your dancer, as measurements will be due by November 1, 2024. The recital will take place in June 2025, and will be at the Algonquin Commons Theatre. To watch your child in it, you will need to purchase tickets (around $36 each) in the spring. Other costs to consider are stage makeup, including red lipstick, concealer, foundation, mascara, blush and eyeshadow.

I am aware that participating in dance, gymnastic activities and acrobatic dance involves inherent risks and
hazards. I freely accept and fully assume all such risks, dangers, and hazards and the possibility of personal injury,
property damage, or loss resulting from such risks and hazards. I voluntarily agree to release the Canadian School of Dance from any and all liability for any loss, damage, injury or expense that I or my next of kin, successors or dependents may suffer or incur as a result of participation with this event due to any cause whatsoever. If I cannot be contacted, I authorize Canadian School of Dance to seek medical services in case of serious injury or illness. I further agree to accept financial responsibility in excess of the benefits allowed by my health plan. I understand that Canadian School of Dance employees and/or contractors will not assume responsibility for any lost or stolen property, or for any bodily or personal injury consisting of or arising out of any participation in any physical training or athletic activity.

At CSD we offer trial classes, to give you the option to try before you buy. When trialing, you are entitled to ONE class per dance style, which you should schedule for the next available opportunity (the next class). If you have scheduled a trial, and can no longer make it (for sickness or other reasons), please let our office know, so we can extend it.

Once you have scheduled a trial for the next class, we can hold your spot in that class for one week after the trial class is over. After that, we cannot guarantee that you will have a place in that class.
