By checking this box, you agree to East Side Dance Company's policies. This agreement covers attendance, pricing, scheduling, etc.
Payment:
-Payment is required prior to the start of the semester.
-Missed classes are not pro-rated or redeemable for cash.
-If your balance is not paid in full by the end of the semester, your child will not be able to participate in the recital.
Refunds (Fall and Spring Semesters):
-We offer full refunds prior to the 2nd week of weekday classes. At the start of the third week, after classes start, we have a strict no-refund policy.
-Company Rehearsals are nonrefundable.
Attendance / Punctuality:
-Please inform us of any expected absences up to 24 hours before the scheduled class time.
-Arriving late to class can be disruptive to other students, distracting to the focus of a learning atmosphere, and difficult for the group's progression in learning. Please inform us if you know your child is going to be late by emailing the office.
-If you are more than 15 minutes late to class, it is up to your teacher's discretion as to whether or not you will be allowed to join the class on the floor, or be required to only observe.
-ESDC does not offer make up classes as each class is specifically tailored to the students registered.
-Due to the rigor of the curriculum, a maximum of two absences are allowed (barring special circumstances communicated to ESDC staff). Exceeding these two absence limits may result in the student not being able to participate in the final performance.
Class Etiquette:
-Cell phone use is not permitted during class time. Please leave your phones on silent or turn them off. If you need to get in touch with your child during the class, please call the office.
-Negativity and disruptive behavior are not tolerated at ESDC. Teachers reserve the right to ask a student to sit out for a portion of the class or remove them from a section of the routine.
Drop off:
-Children will not be permitted to enter the studio until the start of class. If they arrive earlier, they will be required to wait outside, so we urge you not to leave them unattended.
-Shaking and banging on our door can be both disruptive to classes that are in session and damaging to the door itself. We kindly ask you to address such behavior if it occurs
-Please make sure your children use the bathroom before arriving, to prevent emergency bathroom needs while another class is in session
-All classes are drop-off. Parents are not allowed to watch while the class is in session, as it is a distraction for the students.
Recitals
- ESDC holds full recitals at the end of each semester (January and May) at the Town Hall Theater in Times Square.
- Recital assignments will be sent out early in the semester. While we try our best to accommodate families in multiple classes, it is not guaranteed that your children will be in the same show.
