Acknowledgement of Risk
I, the parent, understand and acknowledge that participation in dance lessons, performances, and
related activities involves inherent physical risks. These risks include, but are not limited to falls, sprains, muscle strains, injuries from physical
exertion, or contact with instructors, equipment, or other participation. I certify that my child is in proper physical condition to participate in dance activities and have disclosed any relevant medical conditions or limitations to the instructor. I also hear by understand a doctors physical screening is needed upon the first day of classes for the student, releasing them to participate in classes. Every fall this is due.
Waiver and Release of Liability
In consideration of being permitted to participate in dance lessons provided by, Scarlet & Gray Conservatory of Dance LLC, I, the parent, understand and agree to the following:
I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participation. I herby waive, release, and discharge, Scarlet & Gray Conservatory of Dance LLC, its
owner, instructors, employees, contractors, representatives, successors, and agents from any and all claims or liabilities for injuries, illness, loss items,
or damages arising out of or related to my child/the student, participation in any activity or sponsored event by the studio. I understand that this releases is intended to be as broad and inclusive as permitted by applicable law.
CODE OF CONDUCT
At Scarlet & Gray Conservatory of Dance, we strive to maintain a welcoming, respectful, and professional environment for dancers,
parents, instructors, and guests. Following with our code of conduct, our mission statement is to provide technique-driven training
rooted in classical ballet and other artistic forms while nurturing the artistic spirit and discipline of each dancer. We strive to
cultivate excellence, grace, and resilience in a supportive environment that prepares the students for the opportunity of a
professional career and life long appreciation for the arts.
The following Code of Conduct applies to all individuals participating in studio activities.
For Dancers:
We believe in not only training dancers, but also continuing their growth into become good, genuine human beings. At Scarlet &
Gray stand by these goals and require every dancer to read the list below.
Respect for Others: Treat yourself, fellow dancers, staff, and instructors with courtesy and respect at all times. Bullying,
teasing, or disruptive behaviors will not be tolerated and will lead to the dismissal with Scarlet & Gray Conservatory of
Dance.
Be Prepared: Arrive on time, dressed appropriately with the required dress code, and ready to listen. Hair should be pulled
back and secured neatly in the required hair dress code.
Listen & Follow Instructors: Please pay attention to your instructor and follow directions. Keep your talking and distractions
to a minimum during class. No cell phones are allowed in the studio, only in the lobby.
Take Care of the Studio: No food or drink (other than water) is allowed in the dance studios. Respect the studio property and
help keep all areas clean when you can.
Stay Safe: All unsafe behavior in any part of the studio is prohibited. Please inform your instructor if you are injured or are
feeling unwell prior to the lesson/class if you can or as soon as possible.
As parents, you lead by example. Your behavior is also a reflection on how we work at Scarlet & Gray. Not committing to follow
the code of conduct will lead to the dismissal of you and your dancer. At Scarlet & Gray we ask our families and parents to
please commit to the following.
Support Respectful Behavior : Encourage your dancer to follow the code of conduct. Help us foster a positive and inclusive
environment. Be mindful of how you carry yourself and how you speak. You are role models.
Communicate Appropriately: Address any concerns with a staff member respectfully and privately. Use scheduled
appointments or emails for discussions rather than interrupting class or speaking about the concern in the lobby around non
staff members.
Honor Studio Policies: Adhere to tuition, costume, and attendance policies. Ensure dancers arrive on time and are picked up
on time. We ask that a message be sent to the studio phone if you are running late to drop off or pick your dancer up.
Take Care of the Studio: No food or drink (other than water) is allowed in the dance studio. Respect the studio property and
help keep all areas clean when you can. You may have food and drink out in the lobby. NO Alcohol is permitted on the
premise
Spectator Etiquette: Observe quietly during open classes or showcases. Avoid coaching from the sidelines. No judging or
commenting on other students or families. Do not pull your dancer out of any classes. If you and your dancer need to leave
early for an event, please let the instructor know prior to the class via email, have the student remind the instructor before
the class starts and the instructor will send the student out to meet you.
For Parents/Guardians:
We have zero tolerance for:
Bullying or harassment of any kind
Discrimination or exclusion
Physical or verbal abuse
Inappropriate language or behavior
Possession of illegal substances on studio property
Violation of these policies may result in disciplinary action, including suspension or removal from the
studio.
Acknowledgement:
By attending, Scarlet & Gray Conservatory of Dance, all dancers and parents/guardians agree to uphold this Code of
Conduct. Thank you for being part of our dance family and helping us create a positive, respectful community for us
and your dancers!
Cancelation Policy:
We understand that schedules can change. Our studio Director also travels throughout the year to adjudicate and teach
Master Classes. On the days she is gone, your students monthly payment will be changed and adapted to pay for the classes
performed for that month. (Example, out third week of January. Students only pay 3 weeks of private or class lessons.)
To ensure fairness to our instructors and fellow students, please review our cancellation policy below:
Private Lessons: Cancellations must be made at least 1 week in advance. Once notified of the cancellation, the instructor will offer three
make up options for you to choice from. If nothing is decided, a charge is still made. Cancellations made with less than 1
weeks notice will be charged the full lesson fee regardless.
Group Classes: Refunds or credits are not available for missed classes. We do not offer make-up classes unless otherwise stated.
Emergency Situations: We understand that emergencies happen. Please contact us as soon as possible, and we’ll do our best to accommodate on a case-by-case basis.
Weather: All weather based cancellations will be posted on the Parent Portal, Facebook, and an Email will be sent out.
Classes will be made up for weather cancelations.
Payment: All payments are done through our CLOVER DASH App. You will receive a link to sign up upon registration. Here you will pay monthly on all lessons and classes. Payments will be made accordingly each month depending on holidays or studio closures. Payments are due the 1 of the month and a $10 late fee is applied every 7 days late of payment.
In person forms will need to be filled out at the studio.
