TUDIO GUIDE & HANDBOOK
2026–2027 Season
Welcome to Relevé Academy of Dance!
Our goal is to provide a positive, structured, safe, and encouraging environment where dancers can develop technically, artistically, physically, and personally.
This Studio Guide & Handbook outlines the policies and procedures that help our dancers, families, and staff have a successful experience.
By enrolling at Relevé Academy of Dance ("RAD" or "the Studio"), families agree to follow this Handbook, the Enrollment Agreement, the Electronic Waiver and Liability Release, and all other applicable Studio policies.
1. COMMUNICATION
Primary Communication
Email is the Studio's primary method of communication.
Parents and guardians should contact the Studio by email or phone rather than attempting to communicate with instructors during class.
The Studio Pro Chat feature is not used as the Studio's primary communication method.
Parents and guardians are responsible for keeping their email address and phone number current in Studio Pro.
Important information may be communicated by email, including:
Class cancellations
Makeup classes
Schedule changes
Recital information
Costume information
Billing information
Attendance matters
Emergency closures
Studio announcements
Parents and guardians are responsible for reading Studio communications in a timely manner.
Phone Hours
Studio phone hours are generally:
Monday–Friday: 4:30 PM–8:30 PM
Phone hours may vary when the Studio is closed or during holidays, events, performances, or other special circumstances.
Communication With Instructors
Parents should not interrupt instructors during class or attempt to have lengthy conversations between classes.
For substantial concerns or questions, parents should email the Studio to schedule an appropriate time to speak with the instructor or Studio owner.
Parents should not discuss another dancer, another family, or another instructor with a teacher.
Instructors' personal phone numbers, personal email addresses, and personal social-media accounts are not official Studio communication channels unless specifically provided by RAD for a particular purpose.
2. STUDIO PRO
Studio Pro is the Studio's primary administrative platform.
Families may use Studio Pro for:
Account information
Billing and payments
Class registration
Attendance
Reporting absences
Purchasing RAD merchandise
Viewing account information
Other Studio administrative functions
Families should keep Studio Pro notifications enabled.
Parents should also opt into SMS communication when available:
More → My Account Details → Communications → Opt In
Families are responsible for maintaining current contact information.
Reporting an Absence
Parents should report an absence through:
More → Attendance → Report an Absence
Reporting an absence does not remove or reduce tuition.
3. TUITION & PAYMENT
Monthly Tuition
Monthly tuition is a fixed monthly fee and does not vary based on the number of instructional weeks in a month.
A month containing four weeks, five weeks, holidays, or other calendar variations is still charged at the regular monthly rate.
August tuition may be prorated according to the dancer's enrollment date.
Mandatory Autopay
All families are required to maintain a valid payment method on file and participate in the Studio's mandatory autopay program.
Monthly tuition is scheduled to process on the 1st of each month during the business day.
Families who wish to avoid the scheduled autopay transaction may pay by cash or check before the 1st.
Cash or check payments must be received by the Studio before the 1st.
Removing a payment method does not cancel enrollment or financial obligations.
Failed Payments
A $15 failed-payment fee is assessed for each failed payment transaction.
Families will be notified of failed payments by email and/or through the Studio's payment system.
Parents and guardians are responsible for monitoring their email and ensuring that payments are successfully processed.
Failed payments are subject to applicable late fees.
Late Payments
A $15 late fee will be assessed beginning on the 10th when a balance remains unpaid.
An additional $15 late fee will be assessed every 10 days thereafter while the balance remains unpaid.
Beginning on the 30th, dancers with outstanding monthly tuition balances may not be permitted to participate in class until the account is brought current.
The Studio may also restrict participation in rehearsals, performances, recital activities, private lessons, or other Studio activities when an account is delinquent.
No Refunds
All payments are final and non-refundable except where a refund is required by applicable law or expressly authorized by the Studio in writing.
This includes:
Monthly tuition
Registration fees
Recital fees
Costume fees
Private lessons
Late fees
Failed-payment fees
Merchandise
Other Studio fees
Absences, illness, injury, schedule changes, voluntary withdrawal, or removal from class do not create a right to a refund.
4. WITHDRAWAL / DISENROLLMENT
To withdraw a dancer from a class or from the Studio, a parent or legal guardian must submit written notice by email to the Studio owner.
Notice must be received before the 1st of the month in which the family wants enrollment to end.
For example, if a family wants enrollment to end April 1, written notice must be received before April 1.
The following do not constitute withdrawal:
Verbal notice to an instructor
Telling an instructor after class
Failure to attend
Removing a payment method
Allowing a payment to fail
Removing a dancer from Studio Pro
Texting an instructor
Telling another parent
Stopping payment
Autopay After Withdrawal
Once autopay has processed, the payment will not be refunded solely because a dancer subsequently withdraws, stops attending, or is removed from enrollment.
Families are responsible for providing timely written notice before autopay processes.
5. ANNUAL & OTHER FEES
Annual Studio Registration Fee
$75 per family
Due on the first day of the new season or upon enrollment.
Monthly Tuition
Due on the 1st of each month.
Recital Fee
$125 per dancer
Due November 1 or upon enrollment when applicable.
The recital fee includes:
Two recital tickets
One recital T-shirt per dancer
Costume Fee
$100 per recital class
Due January 1.
The costume fee covers the costume only.
Families are responsible for required:
Tights

Makeup

Accessories
Other required recital items
6. RECITAL PARTICIPATION
Recital participation is optional for Academy students.
Competition Team participation is governed by the separate Competition Team Handbook.
Some classes are non-recital classes and do not have associated recital or costume fees.
Examples may include:
Ballet Technique
Open Tumbling
Pre-Pointe
Leaps & Turns
Other classes designated by RAD
Dancers who are not enrolled in any recital classes are exempt from the recital fee.
Enrollment After February 1
Enrollment is open year-round.
Dancers who enroll in a recital class after February 1 may not be permitted to participate in that year's recital.
The Studio will determine whether a dancer who enrolls after February 1 can reasonably be incorporated into the recital preparation.
If the Studio approves participation after February 1, recital and costume fees are due within 30 days of enrollment.
Recital Withdrawal
The deadline to opt out of recital is November 1.
The final recital/costume commitment deadline is January 1.
Families should notify the Studio as soon as possible if a dancer may not participate.
Withdrawal After March 1
Dancers who withdraw from recital participation after March 1 will not receive refunds of recital fees or costume fees.
This applies regardless of whether the dancer ultimately performs.
After March 1, substantial instructional and administrative work has been committed to choreography, formations, spacing, transitions, staging, and production planning.
These fees help offset the Studio's costs and the time required to rework choreography and production plans when a dancer withdraws.
7. COSTUMES
Families are responsible for checking costumes immediately upon receipt.
Costume problems, missing items, or incorrect sizes must be reported to the Studio within one week of receiving the costume.
Costume issues discovered immediately before recital may not be able to be corrected.
The $100 costume fee covers the costume only.
Families are responsible for required tights, shoes, accessories, hair supplies, makeup, and other recital requirements.
8. ATTENDANCE
Consistent attendance is essential to dancer development and recital preparation.
Parents should report absences through Studio Pro.
An absence does not eliminate tuition.
Dancers with excessive absences may be asked to sit out of a performance if their absence prevents them from safely or adequately preparing the choreography.
If a dancer may need to sit out of a performance, the Studio will notify the parent well in advance whenever reasonably possible and discuss potential options for catching up.
Private lessons may be recommended as one possible option and are subject to separate fees and availability.
9. MAKEUP CLASSES
Studio-Canceled Classes
If an instructor cancels a class and a substitute instructor is not available, the Studio will make reasonable efforts to offer a makeup class.
Makeup classes will generally be offered within 30 days of the canceled class and may be scheduled on a Friday or another date selected by the Studio.
Parents will be notified by email.
A canceled class does not result in an automatic tuition refund or credit.
Student Absences
When a dancer misses a class, the dancer may attend another class in their approved level or a lower level within 14 days, when an appropriate class is available.
Makeup attendance is a courtesy and is not a guaranteed benefit of tuition.
The Studio cannot guarantee that a suitable makeup class will always be available.
Makeup classes are subject to:
Space
Instructor availability
Class level
Class size
Curriculum
Safety considerations
During late winter and early spring, makeup students may encounter recital choreography preparation and cleaning.
10. PRIVATE LESSONS
Private lessons may be recommended when a dancer needs additional assistance catching up with choreography or technique.
Parents should email the Studio to request a private lesson.
The Studio will coordinate an available instructor when possible.
Private lesson fees depend on the instructor and will be provided before booking.
Payment is required at booking.
Private lessons canceled with less than 24 hours' notice or missed without notice are fully chargeable.
Private lesson availability is not guaranteed.
11. CLASS PARTICIPATION
Dancers are expected to participate fully in class unless the instructor or parent/guardian has communicated an appropriate reason for sitting out.
Dancers who arrive late and miss warm-up/stretching may be asked to sit out or observe for safety reasons.
A dancer may not be permitted to participate in physical activity when an instructor determines that participation may be unsafe.
12. ILLNESS & INJURY
Dancers with a fever or contagious illness should remain home.
Parents should report the absence through Studio Pro.
Dancers with contagious illnesses should not attend class.
Dancers with injuries that do not prevent attendance are encouraged to attend class, observe, take notes, and follow along as appropriate.
A dancer with a pre-existing injury or ailment will not automatically be permitted to sit out of class.
Parents must notify the Studio before class begins if a dancer needs to modify or sit out of participation because of a pre-existing condition.
Dancers who become injured during class or report that they are not feeling well may be permitted to sit out at the instructor's discretion. A note may be added to the dancer's Studio Pro chart.
Parents are responsible for checking the notes section of their Studio Pro account.
The Studio may require medical clearance before allowing a dancer to return to full participation following certain injuries or medical circumstances.
13. DRESS CODE
Students should arrive prepared to participate and in appropriate dance clothing, shoes, and hair.
Except for approved trial classes, dancers are expected to follow the Studio's dress code.
Dancers who are not appropriately dressed may be asked to sit out.
